Base Rate is the rate that is determined in a transparent way. It is the easy out and transparent for determining the Loan rate. It is the break even point and rate at which the bank operates. There is no negative consequence of it.

But comparing the base rates, it seems Class B banks have higher base rate. So is not this a misconception among people (especially among illiterate) that Class B banks provide loans at lower interest rate?
