For a barbecue joint that's been around for 35 years to not have any smoker at all in their establishment is pretty much Criminal.

I was about to say it looks baked .. I smoked some baby back ribs and chicken today.. My sides were roasted potatoes with bacon and onion, honey orange glazed baby carrots , grilled corn on the cob and made Japanese milk bread rolls. For dessert fresh Apple cobbler.. Happy Labor Day..

Haven't watched the whole video yet but Cubby's is one of those places that only stays open because it's an institution. As far as BBQ nowadays though, every new BBQ joint shits on them - Mighty quinn's, carlito's, kimchi smoke, fink's. It's definitely stuck in the 80s "bbq" for better or worse but that's probably what the regulars want.
I agree with every statement. I grew up like you in that generation and educate my kids but understand it's not their fault when they were borne and how everything has evolved.

I actually really like Cubby's but they're stupid expensive. Too expensive to be in the normal rotation. They're upper-mid but they charge like they're A1.
That's all the BBQ places now. Charge way to much for to little food. That will be 20 dollars for 5 ribs and 9 dollars for a side. Oh, the drink is 4.50 for a small.😂

Your comment on newspapers not existing anymore is so wrong. Newspapers still exist and people still like to read the news in the paper and also enjoy reading hardcover books. Please don't make generalizations on things that you think that people are not doing anymore because it is not true.
