Brochure Design Process

- Today we design a brochure for an air bottling company. I designed the brochure with adobe illustrator and photoshop. The brochure design process starts with a wire from layout. Then the brochure is created in illustrator with stock images. I used adobe photoshop to adjust and resize the images for the brochure design.

A tip though: if you ever export a pdf from illustrator, it's gonna be a massive file, InDesign (for whatever reason) can take literally the same layout and cut it down to a byte sized file. Just a suggestion ;)

Agree, a lot of times I have to take that pdf and make a jpg file so it's not a massive 30-50 meg file. You also have to crop and do all your photos how you want them because they won't crop in Illustrator. Also, if y'all go to a printer, make sure your photos are CMYK. I guess there is a reason for a layout program and an artwork program :-)

One thing I can't understand, knowing that you're a great logo designer, and as now I see, not that good of a layout designer, is how come great logo designers suck at designing print advertesements and vice versa? And I say that with all due respect, I love your work. It's a curious phenomenon

Probably about 4 hours :) But maybe a bit more if I include the time it took to look for royalty free images :P

Yeah true! It was difficult because when I moved the text off a bit then I could see just the bottom of the letters like the bottom curve of an 'e' and it looked awkward :P

I'm interested what inches was the Bleed if you used one? Because when it goes for printing those white margins could get cut and that sucks. :)
Yeah! it was about half an inch of bleed :D uff yes, i hate when something goes wrong with printing, it's the worst!
