We tested the stock, Borla, Corsa and we built a custom Titanium to see if we could make it better.
Our results were interesting.
All the parts testing in this video are for sale. We're building some new parts and testing those too.

Funny that Borla is now a GM Factory Option Code on the 2023. I run the Borla on my 2018 C7 Grand Sport, love it.
That cold start was amazing. You forgot to let us hear the car in between exhausts. It's pointless but fun to hear what any car sounds like with just a down pipe. Keep up the good work guys!

Didn't the titanium one have a bigger diameter? It doesn't make sense to me why it's weight would affect power, weight usually affects when the car is moving.

I know this is a older vid on the xpipe but i had a question how tight to make the round clamps where the xpipe meets the muffler pipe. I have the kooks header and xpipe and jis wanna know the torque to make a good seal. Thanks for this imformative vid on the c7 vette

Although you didn't connect it to the system would the borla X pipe would have bolted up to the acropovitch no problem. Without modification
I think it is designed to connect to the factory system or bolt on axle back system.

The sound of the full titanium system (your X pipe with the Akrapovic dampers) is the best so far. Looks great too. Next up, LHT headers in titanium? :P

LHT, great analysis. Thank you for taking the time and money to do this. Is this Z06 a "50 state legal" or a CA CARB Corvette? GM makes two. One of course for the state of CA. I'm gonna end up going with the Borla for sound and power. The Corsa is too raspy. Your exhaust is very nice but I'm sure I can't afford it ;).
Felix Perez I think only the Ca model is the specific model for ca. I’m not sure. The cheapest and best mods IMO are Borla X, Green drop in filter and Katech Throttle body.

Like to have seen borla and mufflers , either way x-pipe/mufflers no tuning and pick up 40hp ! Now add some headers ....lol

Do you think the difference in power between the X pipes was where the actual merge/crossover points were in each system? Curious what your opinion on the optimum location for an X-pipe, some designs are closer to the engine, or in the middle of the vehicle possibly due to space constraints? Lastly, the design of the cross over and converging angles, what have you seen during testing from the above on NA and FI vehicles?

First time that I saw a comparaison between a few x-pipes in one video. No stupid loud background music. By the way and I mean no disrespect, it is Akrapovic and not Akrovic. Well done! I used to have a C6 Z06 with Kooks long tube headers, high flow cats, Corsa x-pipes and sport exhaust. My engine light was always on. Did you have the same issue?
Claude Perrault I wouldn’t change to headers until you really need to. Leave the factory cats.

I haven't but I'm it's not too far out. Most of my interest is road course, hence why I'm more concerned about lean AFs and anything that will cause heat soak.

Hard to tell from the video sound but can you comment further on the sound difference between the Corsa vs borla xpipe (with rest of exhaust stock)? Do they both "burble" the same amount?

We don't produce them. It would have to made for your car. I used to have a 2010 C6z before I ordered this 17.

Kyle Roach I haven’t actually done one to see. I would think you’ll see a little power and definitely more sound.
If just attaching the axle back to the exhaust you built picked up 15 wheel horsepower without a tune, I would love to see what it could pick up with a tune.

How lean is too lean for the lt4?. .....How lean would a CAI and something like the borla xpipe be on a stock tune?
Bonanza Driver It depends who you talk to. With is being Direct injected you can run them in the high 12s and even touch 13. I personally would run it as rich as you can without costing power ( within reason of course)
Typically installing a ‘cold air ‘ intake without a tune will lean them out and give some good gains for 2-3 dyno runs. The computer will soon pull timing and the factory torque management will also pull power.
I like more torque. How would you get that number up?
Add a Halltech CAI. It adds over 35 torque in the C7 ZO6
When you free up the exhaust flow will your afr get richer? When you tested the first xpipe it got richer from stock and when you tested the double x it got leaner from the x pipe or stock?
Just a 5.0 The factory ecu will constantly interfere without tuning. Once you start installing intakes and headers etc , The ecu will start pulling power and you’ll be back to stock power.
