    This is a beautiful blanket! I am a beginner, but I think I can do this with your easy-to-follow instructions. Thanks so much for this tutorial! And I love that shell border too! Greetings from central Florida.

    That looks very much like the stitch my mom used to do! (I know nothing about crochet) She crocheted baby blankets for all her G’s (grandkids) but only one of her Great G’s before she passed. We all still have our kid’s blankets! They mean so much to us all! Thanks for the beautiful memories! ❤️❤️

    Amber, this is perfect timing because I need to crochet a baby blanket that works up quickly but looks great…and this one does that! Thanks for the tutorial!

    Love this stitch.... Southern girls can crochet.
    You have a good chemo beanie pattern?
    Wonder how this stitch would work in a beanie.
    Crocheting with a church crafting group that crochet prayer shawls, baby blankies and chemo hats for people in the community.
    Can't wait to use this stitch..🥰
    Love the woopsie-doodle... going to use that one.🤭

    I think I might try this stitch when I work on a baby boys 2 different shades of blue; a verigated blue and a sky baby blue.

    You’re so talented and this is beautiful! I’m a first time beginning learner so it was a little confusing and too fast for me. I’m a visual learner so I don’t pick up real quick unless I’m shown over n over a few times. Do you have any videos for a first time beginner crotchet pattern?

    You can go up one or two size hooks to solve border problems.

    I made blanket throw and used caron cotton cakes in variety solids. I went to I hook made looser and softer.

      I generally use only 4.5mm or 5mm. I need my stitches precise and uniform for the competitions I enter.

    I love this sweet blanket! I have a question. When you change colors, do you work the loose yarn back through to hide the ends? How do you hide the yarn with color changes?

    • @ThisSouthernGirlCan
      @ThisSouthernGirlCan  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I never work over the yarn as I’m going. It’s not very secure. Before I put on the border, I use a yarn needle and work the loose ends back through the stitches, not under, in three different directions. That is very secure.

    Amber, do you block your blankets & if so how do you do this? Loved watching this & the pattern is wonderful. I've got a new Great Grandson coming in June. Think I'll try this pattern. Thanks for sharing with all of us!

    • @ThisSouthernGirlCan
      @ThisSouthernGirlCan  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      No. There’s no need to block a blanket. The only time I do that is when I’m entering a competition. I will take the sheets off my bed, put it on my mattress, then hold it in place with straight pins. Use a water bottle and hose it down, then let fans blow on it until it is dry.

    Thank you for sharing this pattern you have inspired me to get going again. How many balls of yarn or yards approx?

    • @ThisSouthernGirlCan
      @ThisSouthernGirlCan  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      One skein of each color. I was using I love this yarn, from Hobby lobby. If you were to use one solid color, I think 2 1/2 skeins should do it.
