Afterwards, Overlord (the Scrin leader) commands for the creation and dispatch of a full invasion force. "Earth, will fall." This squid invasion force has a similar vibe to the Scrin. All we have now are Overseers and Harvesters - neither title of which has a military ring to it. Much like the Scrin commander being called a Foreman instead of a Commander. And with the confirmation that this isnt their actual military force, but rather a vanguard harvesting operation.. Makes me wonder what their actual military units are like.

My biggest question is what happened to the illuminate while they were outside the galaxy? They seem a lot darker and evil in this one. They machines also look more decreped and decayed as well. I'm guessing some eldritch entity.
Some people say that maybe the illuminate we are fighting rn are separate from the true illuminate bc these ones want revenge but the true illuminate are higher beings who don’t seek revenge or smth along those lines. My theory is that what we are and will be fighting are the actual illuminate and not some branch off of them. And when we turned meridia into a black hole the illuminate got a bunch of bugs right at their front door and saw that as an attack.
Their species was driven to near extinction. First game they were peaceful but Super Earth thought that with all their technology and super weapons they’d attack, so Super Earth attacked first. Now they’re bitter and have gone from peaceful untrained aliens, to warriors who’ve prepared over a hundred years training to kill Helldivers.
I think the bugged siege ready passive is a happy accident. It makes the armor more worth it to bring. I feel like one extra mag for just a primary and secondary doesn’t do much. But an extra mag for a MG is HUGE

Conduit/Arc resistance Armour, this lets you get up and personal with the harvester, which is useful for killing it with the flamethrower. (also reduce elevated overseers damage,) 3. Redeemer Secondary: it used to remove the shields on the warp ships to chuck an impact grenade into it. 4. Flamethrower Support, The flamethrower can Destroy hordes if you spray consistently, can take out harvester in 10 seconds with the modules, and shreds the Overseer, (elevated are immune to the fire effect not the direct damage Harvest also lose their beam attack when you close enough for them to have to activate their ARc thrower weapon) 5. Shield backpack: this Let you take a number of hits against zombies or a direct hit from the harvester arc thrower and likewise the elevated overseer, (ground will just rag doll you then kill you with 2 swings.) 6. Any stratagem, for offensive power, or support sentry, Sadly it a very up and close weapon so you may want a teammate to lay down Suppressive Fire, from a distance well avoiding you. I loved the new illuminates, it adds a third "game mode" to the game, bugs=doom style horde shooter, bots=more traditional tactical shooter, and squids=zombie shooter 💜
Its crazy some think this still isn't content. We got a new warbond, with two new sentries/stratagems we can use. Melee weapons( which some asked for). New urban environments, an suv, new enemies, new mission types, plus a whole new faction to the lore with a new story to follow. That free shit and some of yall still dont like it? People can have their own opinion, but it still content. Probably the largest content drop in helldivers 2 history because previous content was just stratagems we had to earn through major orders which is content but not as big as this. Its bigger then escalation of freedom by a lot. People still blame arrowhead for the banned country stuff, that not the community or arrowhead fault. You need to go to sony. I think the announcement from the Game Awards actually brought a bunch of people back to the game instead of creating new players. I've seen a huge increase of players between the levels of 30-50 and not as many above 50, which makes it highly likely they played before the update to increase the max level. Either way, im glad to see the player count up in the 100k again. 💜
Connection issues forced me to solo Lvl 10 Squids. Finished with 100% completion and SWEET JIMMINY JELLECKERS I loved how cinematic and epic it was. Legit fought for my life💜

I think its worth noting this is the illuminate recon unit even if we retake Calypso they'll still be on the map I think everything south of Calypso has been taken by the illuminate we are just halting their advance
They have arc damage protection, they literally have mastered arc for years, its not a bug, its a feature. Thats why they use the arc damage weapons 😂😂

Never, and i mean never, used the blitzer before the illuminate. It absolutely rocks on them, kills everything so quick and the stun is great on the staff guys 💜
I know it's a pipe dream. But sony and Microsoft really need to sort this out. The amount of xbox players locked out of this really good game is insane and benefits no one.
Arrowhead need to allow us to be able to charge with the spear. Imagine using a spear and ballistic shield with your fellow helldivers, charging a massive mob of illuminate together for managed democracy!
This update literally gave me almost everything on my list, new faction, urban maps, vehicles, and melee weapons. All I want now is a handheld minigun and a main battle tank. Planets contested by 2 or more factions would be really cool too.

The reason why scramble doesn't feel bad compared to the early version is because the OG scramble was map-wide and mission-long, it was a full operation modifier. Not only that, it didn't scramble the same way. It used to be that you did a strat code for an item you wanted to call in, like a support weapon, but the end result was that you had the 500kg in your hand and threw it at your feet. The OG scramble worked much differently to the new one, and the new one can easily and quickly be disabled.
You owe AH a 2 hours apology video for trashing them for a month. It’s obvious they work slow and like to keep things hidden so that when a big update does drop it’s completely new to us and unexpected that the hype builds when you see it for the very first time and it’s real genuine excitement it feels real.
i figured the armor passive was bugged, but i love it. it feels soooooooo good to have an extra mag for the hmg and our other weapons when dealing with the zombies.
New armor also gives extra ammo for secondary as well currently. I have no issue with them just deleting the word primary from description and leave it as is.
On those big towers, you don’t have to shoot the things on it. There’s little energy plates hidden around it and if you destroy them all you destroy the structure they’re blue and nearby. No on the defend map you can still bring your recoil list and drop the ships when the bottom circle opens up to do drops shoot it and it’ll go down killing the enemies inside just like the automaton ships
I really love how the illuminate Update brought so many people back or new into the game, and i can tell you why the scrambler works, its because it doesnt give you a random Strategem into your hand like the first Iteration did it just scrambles the code for the Strategems but still gives you the one you wanted💜
So basically The stratagem thing used to swap places with another stratagem(usually a bomb). Now every stratagems changes and they don’t mix plus cool effect
The squids don’t know what they just stepped into. We have hundreds of thousands of bot and bug weary divers, desperate for something new to shoot. Not only do they not require any anti tank to down, but they left a bunch of perfectly usable FRVs laying around. They are destined to become super calamari.
I am so glad they recognized the colossal fuck up they did with the DSS, and so they went silent and turned the work up by 200% and dropped this. The game is as beautiful as the day I lost it
Tip for people using the nee melee weapons and wondering why your damage buffs arent applying with peak physique: you cant atm use your primary attack button, you need to use your melee button for the buff to apply💜

The scrambler works because it doesn’t call in the wrong one. Randomizing codes is way healthier for the game than calling in a resupply and you drop a 500kg on your team. Granted, I liked the old one because it was hilarious
I really love the idea that we successfully defend against the attack and then that's it, we win and they just retreat back through the wormhole and never come back 😂
We fought a few months for the dss now it is disabled. But i am glad it is hopefully it works better next time. The illuminate is awesome! And i love the warbond and it passives! I hope they fix the ammo bug soon to :)

It would be cool to have a stratagem to make deep trenches in a line, enough for at least 4 players and an HMG Turret. probably good for bots and defense mission when under heavy fire
I have a feeling it won't be a matter of squids disappearing completely if we win, but it will be a matter of less planets lost when they fully emerge.
Love the new map! I have been running the tenderizer, flame pistol, and stun grenade. The conduit armor helps a ton if you're getting on shotted a lot.😊💜💜💜

They’re a mix between the clanks and the bugs. The squids swarm and shoot/ engage up close and from a distance. It really switches up the flow a lot

Siege ready's ammo increase works with all weapons, which I hope will stay. Just increasing the primary weapon capacity seems a little weak.

I'd assume if we managed to wipe out the illuminate they'd just appear elsewhere with their warp tech, but it would be pretty cool to see how arrowhead would approach it.

My theory is that Klen Dahth ll will be the Illuminate’s Cyberstan. Perhaps the massive terraforming of a planet, since they are squid and need water and stuff.
Klen Dahth II is located right next to super earth so I dont think it being the cyberstan equal would be good for us lol, but if so then be prepared for a close war
The Illuminate cyberstan will be the Squ'bai Shrine which isn’t seen on the map yet as far as I know but it is the illuminate homeworld

I think its worth noting this is the illuminate recon unit even if we retake Calypso they'll still be on the map I think everything south of Calypso has been taken by the illuminate we are just halting their advance

All i need is Arrowhead to fix the bug where the ark thrower just does no damage even though it's hitting the enemies it's so annoying
They have arc damage protection, they literally have mastered arc for years, its not a bug, its a feature. Thats why they use the arc damage weapons 😂😂
i use blitzer and it works fine with controlling crowd

one nugget of info i'd like to share regarding the illuminate, the watchers are the only ones who can call drop ships, prioritize those if you don't want the onslaught getting worse

Never, and i mean never, used the blitzer before the illuminate. It absolutely rocks on them, kills everything so quick and the stun is great on the staff guys 💜
I've loved it for bugs too, its really good for anything small, as well as spewers, hive guards, and brood commanders
I know it's a pipe dream. But sony and Microsoft really need to sort this out. The amount of xbox players locked out of this really good game is insane and benefits no one.

Arrowhead need to allow us to be able to charge with the spear. Imagine using a spear and ballistic shield with your fellow helldivers, charging a massive mob of illuminate together for managed democracy!

This update literally gave me almost everything on my list, new faction, urban maps, vehicles, and melee weapons. All I want now is a handheld minigun and a main battle tank. Planets contested by 2 or more factions would be really cool too.

The reason why scramble doesn't feel bad compared to the early version is because the OG scramble was map-wide and mission-long, it was a full operation modifier. Not only that, it didn't scramble the same way. It used to be that you did a strat code for an item you wanted to call in, like a support weapon, but the end result was that you had the 500kg in your hand and threw it at your feet. The OG scramble worked much differently to the new one, and the new one can easily and quickly be disabled.
The illuminate aren't going if we win the major order...
I think why the scramble feels better is because it gives you the stratagem youre trying to go for instead of a random one on your list of stratagems.

It’s obvious they work slow and like to keep things hidden so that when a big update does drop it’s completely new to us and unexpected that the hype builds when you see it for the very first time and it’s real genuine excitement it feels real.

Honestly i really hope they will keep the extra ammo for support weapons too for the armour set, that 1 extra clip is really really nice
i figured the armor passive was bugged, but i love it. it feels soooooooo good to have an extra mag for the hmg and our other weapons when dealing with the zombies.
New armor also gives extra ammo for secondary as well currently. I have no issue with them just deleting the word primary from description and leave it as is.
On those big towers, you don’t have to shoot the things on it. There’s little energy plates hidden around it and if you destroy them all you destroy the structure they’re blue and nearby. No on the defend map you can still bring your recoil list and drop the ships when the bottom circle opens up to do drops shoot it and it’ll go down killing the enemies inside just like the automaton ships

I really love how the illuminate Update brought so many people back or new into the game, and i can tell you why the scrambler works, its because it doesnt give you a random Strategem into your hand like the first Iteration did it just scrambles the code for the Strategems but still gives you the one you wanted💜
So basically
The stratagem thing used to swap places with another stratagem(usually a bomb). Now every stratagems changes and they don’t mix plus cool effect

The squids don’t know what they just stepped into. We have hundreds of thousands of bot and bug weary divers, desperate for something new to shoot.
Not only do they not require any anti tank to down, but they left a bunch of perfectly usable FRVs laying around. They are destined to become super calamari.
I am so glad they recognized the colossal fuck up they did with the DSS, and so they went silent and turned the work up by 200% and dropped this. The game is as beautiful as the day I lost it
Tip for people using the nee melee weapons and wondering why your damage buffs arent applying with peak physique: you cant atm use your primary attack button, you need to use your melee button for the buff to apply💜

The scrambler works because it doesn’t call in the wrong one. Randomizing codes is way healthier for the game than calling in a resupply and you drop a 500kg on your team. Granted, I liked the old one because it was hilarious
I complained constantly for new content, never expected the illuminate this year, im happy with this content!

I started playing Helldivers 2 about a month ago. This is the best new game that I have played since Red Dead Redemption 2.
I really love the idea that we successfully defend against the attack and then that's it, we win and they just retreat back through the wormhole and never come back 😂
We fought a few months for the dss now it is disabled. But i am glad it is hopefully it works better next time.

It would be cool to have a stratagem to make deep trenches in a line, enough for at least 4 players and an HMG Turret. probably good for bots and defense mission when under heavy fire
I have a feeling it won't be a matter of squids disappearing completely if we win, but it will be a matter of less planets lost when they fully emerge.

Love the new map! I have been running the tenderizer, flame pistol, and stun grenade. The conduit armor helps a ton if you're getting on shotted a lot.😊💜💜💜

One thing I noticed is if you spread out your shots on the shields it goes down even faster instead of just shooting one point. Give it a try!
