hey i was about to say that. its just insane its even an option anymore, mid range PHONES have that now! what the hell are they thinking doing that in laptops
4 go is barely good enough in PHONES. Work set me up with a Lenovo T470 that has only 4gb, and I can kill that laptop just having several tabs open in chrome.
@@2011Kestrel several in chrome? i quit chrome because with 5 or 6 tabs it used 10gb ram, and i didn't try to figure out why because it had no reason to.been using firefox ever since
Can this be charged via the USB C port? I like the 13" form factor, I think it's a sweet spot for a 2-in-1 but I just want to be able to carry around a single high-wattage power brick with a few USB C ports that can charge all the things, like my laptop, phone, TWS earbuds, etc. If it doesn't I might just spring for the 14" C740. It gets down to almost as cheap as the C640 on some sales, isn't THAT much bigger and heavier and the slightly larger screen would be appreciated in laptop mode if a bit clunkier in tablet mode.
I feel like it will be a downgrade from the C630. The SD850 is a great productivity device, has two usbc ports, instant on, integrated LTE and outrageous battery life... I'm hard pressed to go back to Intel at the productivity level
Steve Mann and I just read that Lenovo or Intel has been throttling non-Windows installations as well. There’s been so much good hardware coming out but putting Windows on a great laptop is like throwing a Pinto motor inside a Rolls Royce
I think people overstate the importance of Intel's thunderbolt 3. Just wait until USB4 becomes standard (which will absorb all the best traits of TB3) within the next couple years. Most current TB3 ports go through the PCH anyway, making it not ideal for eGPUs.
We bought one today for our daughter for high school and it has a nice and solid feel to it. It's an i7, 16 gig ram version, to be future proof enough. The digital pen is nice for drawing and photo editing, and it was a very important feature for our artistically talented daughter. I've been an Apple guy since circa 1988, and a Windows laptop/tablet is nothing I'd be excited about, but it seems to work ok. 😅

Depends on where you buy it, Lenovo US model specs and User guide says NO USB C power delivery, however Lenovo UK and Singapore specs have USB C power delivery and longer battery life (12 vs 22 hrs). Maybe user guide (sep 2019) and US model is outdated, and the model has just been recently updated with better battery life and usb c charging
Since there isn't a reliable answer, and most answers seem to point to it NOT charging through USB-C - I wouldn't recommend getting this machine, if you require it to do that. I would recommend the slightly older Yoga 730 13, as it is of similar dimensions, is similar performance-wise, has two 4-lane TB3 ports, and it charges with 65W USB C charging. You can get a good deal on a refurb from eBay, for a 16 gb DDR4, 516 gb SSD, i7 8550U.

It's a bit on the noisy side if you intentionally notice it. But, it is not that bad. It doesn't bother me at all.

How many hours the battery
They say it's beyond 20 hrs depending on the settings. I'd get 10 hrs of medium usage.
I wish it was updated with Arm. Now it's just another boring laptop.
