As a Dane, I’m glad we have a new king and queen, but I will never forget what our dear queen Margrethe 2’ did for our country. She is beloved, and rightfully so
So sad that her beloved husband couldn’t be healthy and there with her. It’s good to let her son take his place while she‘s still there to support him, and her grandson as Prince. God bless this family and Denmark.
Fun fact - many of the Hussars riding here were conscripts, who had finished their service one week before this day. For, what may surely be, on of the first time in history, you had conscript soldiers actually begging to have their time extended, so they could be part of this special day.
Congratulations to the new King and Queen and the good people of Denmark! Delighted for all decent Australians too. Wishing a long and healthy reign for Frederick and Mary. With best wishes from the UK.

@DW-dd4iw Weren't the horses and Hussars great? A bit sad for Margrethe that she bids the Danes farewell alone in her coach. The security services walking alongside, scanning the crowd, made me think too. But all in all - a lovely commemoration for her 52 years as monarch.
Every country that has a royal family has their own procedures for this sort of thing, you really can’t compare them against each other. The women commentating this event are so annoying.
