THANK YOU for standing firm and creating an online movement that is authentic, honest, and unapologetic about 1st Nation struggles and accomplishments, throughout the diaspora.
@@dr.bteaches Just to touch on the elimination of Indigenous culture…. With the help, in a Big way, of the church. Indigenous people would have healthier lives, I think, by rejecting the colonizer’s religion
As a descendant of white colonialists, I fully support the Land Back Movement. And I agree that Indigenous people know how to respect the land, where white colonialists will literally destroy the biosphere in the name of capital gain.
Kia Ora from Aotearoa (New Zealand). Just wanna say as a Māori I love to hear about my indigenous whānau (family) from across the seas. The topics u discuss in this video is incredibly poignant for all of us around the world.
Dr.B, what about the Wounded Knee Cemetery on the Pine Ridge Reservation that has a christian cross mounted on the arch as you enter and several US flags displayed throughout the site? These symbols, symbolize the genocide brought on the Lakota people and all natives across the Americas. Isn't it a disgrace and insult to the memory of those murdered on December 29, 1890 for these symbols to be displayed?
Would you consider a follow up to this video discussing the history and present state of the relationship between indigenous peoples and agencies that administer "public land" like the National Parks Service?

Yes it's about regeneration of the environment through Indigenous stewardship and culture first. While it doesn't necessitate colonizers going back to Europe, it's in general a good idea. How are Indigenous people going to get off the rez and live on their ACTUAL ancestral homelands, unless some colonizers go back? Oklahoma isn't the homeland of most of the tribe there.
I appreciate the patient candor in your lesson, though it is unfortunate and unfair that such gentle consideration is needed to break through the ice. White identity is so wrapped up in entitlement to a presumption of innocence, often attempts to bring the depth of injustice to the attention of someone not ready to recognize our shared responsibility to our future will become extremely fraught and even combative. Well, one mind at a time, thank you for the work you are doing ✊🏼

I share many of your thoughts and sentiments 🤙🏽🤙🏽
When did settlers truly outnumber natives in the U.S.A? 18th century, 19th century? what are some good sources to learn from?

My last name was forced upon my family by settler colonizers in the Philippines. I always wonder what my real surname is…
Oh, so the current federal recognition of some tribes will lose$$$$$. Darn🎉
Settlers are not civilians they are occupiers.
European immigrants.
