How many remember the holographic sticker that came with the State of Euphoria album? I stuck mine on a flute case (why I had a flute at the time is an odd story) and then traded the flute along with a bunch of other stuff for a '68 SG. I was pissed when Bush left the band and Belladonna came back in because I figured there's no way he can still sing. But then I heard Worship Music and saw the Big Four tour documentary thing. Belladonna's still got it. But Bush was really good too. Love Sound of White Noise. Love that record.

When Anthrax reunited for the first time back with Belladonna and Spitz, i saw them play here at the Starland Ballroom in NJ where they recorded the live album Alive 2. Great show.

I only saw Anthrax once. It was with John Bush. They opened for Megadeth/Motley Crue in 2000. My Late Cousin Randy Castillo (Motley Crue), couldn't play because of health problems. But it was alot of fun. Nikki Sixx had to let Anthrax off the tour I believe after the show here in Albuquerque. R.I.P. Cuz AKA Randy Castillo.

I highly agree on SOD being better than any Anthrax album. I’m the Man is when I discovered Anthrax

Technically SOD only has one good album while anthrax has at least 7 good albums.

Bought Fist Full of Metal when it came out. You know how it was back then , went by the album cover as I thought it was cool. I liked it enough to pick up Spreading The Disease which ended up being my favorite by them.

Persistence Of Time and Spreading The Disease flip flop for my #1 and #2, w White Noise a solid #3. All brilliant to my ears. Thanks for the video Doc!

I have to say that they're one of the few bands that get better as they age. Sort of like fine wine.

I was never a big fan of Anthrax. They have a few tunes I can get into but I just never enjoyed their angle. I always thought Overkill should have had that level of success and were in the big 4.

Thank you I had the same problem with Scott on the state of uphoria tour. My future wife was in the hospital and could not go to the show or the meet and greet at a record store. And when I asked him and explained to him that I would hope he would sign a 2nd autograph for her he snapped and said 1 autograph only and you don't like it get the f out. Exodus was also there and when I went to get there autograph they apologized for Anthrax and asked me how ever many things I want signed they would be more than happy to. Since that day I never bough another Anthrax album for years and still to this day i would only buy by them used as to not give them any sales.

In the day I loved SOD but never cared so much for Anthrax. I didn’t dislike them I just didn’t go out of my way to listen to them.
Recently I have gained a new found respect for them. It also seems Anthrax made some pretty good music long after Slayer and Metallica stopped being able to.
Maybe it’s just me but I bet a few of you out there feel the same.

Hey Ralph thank you for this video I really enjoyed it. I was a big Anthrax fan in the '80s. After Persistence of Time I lost track of them a bit because I was busy with other things like music. In 1998 I saw them live again which was weird just charly and scott were still there . For me, Anthrax is with Joey Belladonna, but I have to admit, I never listened to the Bush period. I pulled out my "sound of the white noice" CD today to listen to😁

i fuckin love state of europhoria. its the first anthrax i got into, i actually bought among the living but it was too heavy for me, i wasnt into thrash at that time i was into classic metal and the drumming was too intense for me, the ampng the living had a defect on the vinyl so i took it back and got a wasp album instead. two years later i heard state of europhoria and loved it. after that i was hooked, i love their bush era stuff too

Im so-so with the whole catalog but their cover of Neon Knights with Belladonna is kick ass. It does the song justice and Joey fills the shoes of Dio pretty decently. In my opinion that kind of metal is more Joey's style. But yeh great cover.

  • @docvader82

The Bush records are way underrated imo, but they do better business with Joey. I could see either guy handling the vox on the last two records.

More of a Bellodonna fan with Anthrax. Didn’t like the Bush era at all. The last two Anthrax studio albums kicked ass big time. Most bands that late in their career release some of their best work. And I think Worship Music and For all Kings did just that. 🤘😎

Anthrax is not Anthrax without Joey the same as armored Saints is not Armored Saints without John bush which is a trip you live in Florida I live in Alabama for about the same age but our opinions are completely different but hey that's why I love hearing your take on their album's love to hear some more combat or Thrasher or die roll tide

I used to be a huge Anthrax fan from the NYC L'Amours era. WSOU used to play them all the time. The first 3 albums are individually epic with distinctive character but after ATL they didn't progress like Metallica, Megadeth & Slayer. Pantera & Testament, IMO, elbow mosh tossed Anthrax out of the thrash ethos. Good memories.

  • @casualcomputing
    @casualcomputing 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

I am probably the opposite kind of anthrax fan. To me it was the fun metal aspect which set them apart. Remember being very disappointed when white noise came out, but I guess I am in the wrong since everyone seems to love it. Well to each their own, as you say...
Agree with you, though, that sod is a better band.

White Noise had a special place for us younger metalheads who went to high school in the 90's. While everyone was sucking off the Seattle scene, Anthrax was our band, and Sound of White Noise was our rallying cry, when high school began to look like a very lonely and unfamiliar place.

Dude, this might seem random and an odd place to talk about something like this. But I want to help you. You obviously care about your hair and would like to keep it. Go to the doctor and get a prescription for finasteride. Take 1mg a day and within 3 months, it will stop your hair loss and also help make your hair healthier. It won't regrow your hair, but it will let you keep what you have. If you want to regrow what you have lost, minoxidil works for a lot of people. I wasn't losing my hair, but once I hit 40, I noticed that the texture and quality of my hair was diminishing. So I started taking finasteride and minoxidil and within 4 or 5 months, my hair was in the best shape it had been in 20 years. It was like I was 16 again. hehe. You are at a point where it isn't too late. Don't wait too long or there is no going back. Unless you want to pay big bucks for a transplant.
