The MIDDLE years!! “Help”, “Rubber Soul” and “Revolver” are the BEST! “Rubber Soul” is my fave. Love em all, but THOSE TWO are ridiculous!! “I’ve Just Seen a Face” is a favorite to listen to and play! My bluegrass band does it as a hoedown-sounds amazing!!!

In my world, all popular music starts and ends with the Beatles. I hear them everywhere. Their influence is so heavy, people tend to forget the Beatles originated so many musical ideas that we take it for granted. I might go a year then I'll throw on an album and be like, "oh yeah, now I remember"

I was born in 72, so my first introduction to the Beatles was that Sgt Pepper movie with the Bee Gees and Frampton. I went back and heard the originals later and discovered the deeper cuts.

Thanks for going over these. I absolutely love the Beatles and I also got into them probably around mid 80s. I really dove deep into them about six or seven years ago when I went to go see Paul McCartney. I watched the Beatles anthology and immediately bought every album. Every time I go to Vegas we always go see Beatles love. It’s remarkable what they did in such a short amount of time.

1973 I'm 11 years old I walk into a department store where they had these 99 cent vinyl bargain bins I'm flipping through the albums I stop at this album called Introducing the Beatles on the veejay label I get it and go home and play it. It's like I was hit by lightning not exaggerating one bit. It turned me on to them and music in general. Still a fan to this day. I love their Psychedelic period the best so Sgt. Pepper and Magical mystery tour are my favorites.

Me too man. It was I am the walrus for me also. I was sick when I was 15 with the flu and pulled out my uncles old Magical Mystery Tour vinyl out of the closet and played that song over and over after hearing it on the radio. And it is still my fave to this day.
First time I heard Revolution 9 I was trippin. In fact the first full time listen through of the white album, my teenage mind was being blown in a small field behind the local mall trippin schmackamaballz with 3 of my equally fried buddies.
That trip I actually committed sacrilege. Actually Sab-rilige. I was grounded but my parents worked so we dropped some obla-do-bla-da and walked a mile to the PV Mall in Az (this is 1985) and my buddy had a boom box that I am sure violated some zoning laws it was so huge. And just as the Sid is kicking in - HARD - my buddy puts on…Sabotage.
ANY other day, I would have been like fuck yeah!!! I love that album, and all Ozzy Sabbath. But this day, Hole In The Sky unnerved me way too much as I was already freaking out and trying to get my mind together. So after some debate, we settled on the “new music” the ENTIRE white album. I lost it during Revolution 9, and despite what you say about Goodnigbt, and I don’t disagree necessarily. But man I was Sooo glad to hear that song after my tripped bit Revolution 9 experience, and I know why they put that song exactly right there. It was Old Billy, err…I mean Paul’s way of countering Lennon’s psycho avant garde your de force with THE MOST OPPOSITIONAL PIECE OF MUSIC HE COULD MUSTER. More dap than a maple tree in spring. But it was welcome at that time.

I’d consider myself I neutral fan of the Beatles. I’m not a super hardcore “best band ever” type fan. But I am not a casual “I only like Help, I Wanna Hold Your Hand” and nothing else type of fan. I enjoy the Beatles from time to time and they are a legendary historic band that changed the world. Would I call them the most influential band? Maybe but definitely top 3

1970, I was in first grade , and my Uncle had all the albums. I would stare at the album covers. He have me an extra copy of HEY JUDE album. I played it over and over and over. 2021 and i still listen to it over and over and over. Was lucky to see Ringo once and Paul 3 times in concert. Twice front row. Still a huge fan. Love all eras. My favorite is probably HELP! I found it in my local elementary school library and checked it out 100 times. Lately spinning White Album/ Abbey Road.

Absolutely love the Beatles... and that mono box set is worth quite a bit. Had planned on eventually picking it up but it was a limited release and I missed out.
Became a fan while I was a senior in high school which would have been 1983. I had just discovered the heavier bands ( Venom , Metallica and Slayer) but saw a book in the high school library called The Love You Make. Excellent read and it really made me want to check them out. By the following year, I had all their albums. Like you, I love the middle period but I love a lot in all eras. They are the best. Of course, one doesn't have to agree but it is a fact they did change music. As one of my friends said very recently, I don't care for them but I do understand the impact they made on pop/ rock music.
I've Just Seen a Face , The Word, Rain , and Eleanor Rigby immediately come to mind as some of my favorites but really, there are a ton of songs I love by them.
Will now head to the music room to enjoy some Beatles CDs. I'll never grow tired of this band.
Thanks for putting out this video 👍

1974, I’m 11 years old and hear my cousin’s cassette tape recording off the TV of songs from the Help movie. Wow, such memorable songs. Shortly thereafter I get my first album, Abbey Road. Absolutely life changing. I also love the mid-period. Help, Rubber Soul and Revolver absolutely brilliant. But Abbey Road remains the fave. Was a big metal head in the 80’s (still am) and played in a prog-metal band, but always with a warm spot in my heart for the Fab Four. Dr. Fukk - you rock brother.

"In My Life" is my favorite Beatles song." Mine too!
"I love these whimsical McCartney songs." Me too!
But I have to say I absolutely love Revolution 9 and Good Night as a closer to the White Album, haha!
I love people talking about The Beatles. They were one of the first things I was listening to as a kid, my dad had Beatles For Sale and the Red Album and I have very clear memories of listening to them when I was between four and nine years old in 1975-80. Then I rediscovered these albums as a teen in the mid 80s, then finally heard stuff from Sgt. Pepper and MMT which I loved. The thing is though, I actually only got into the entire catalog as an adult, first when buying the "1" CD of all their number one hits in 2001 and then slowly getting to know all the albums over the years. Didn't hear The White Album until the remasters came out in 2009...! I have the upcoming super deluxe of Let It Be on preorder because that to me is the most underrated Beatles album. Can't wait for the three part documentary of the Let It Be sessions later this year!! Beatlemania will never die! 😀

GENE SIMMONS is a big fan of The Beatles. In fact, he would have liked KISS to be more like ELO than what they are. His 1978 solo album was his personal attempt to duplicate and sueprass the success of "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" as KISS was NOT invited to take part of the film and album released that same year. Peter's 1978 solo album is a moving tribute to Pete Best, and it is his extrapolation of the rejected English drummer's material - had he not been replaced by Ringo Starr.

Good video. I really like the Beatles but I am burnt out on them. For close to 30years I couldn't bear listening to them but rediscovered them a couple of years back. I bought their albums for the first time on CD second hand. My favourite albums are Rubber Soul, White album, Please Please Me, For Sale and Help. I don't really like Sgt Pepper and Abbey Rd. I appreciate that they are great but for me personally they are a bit boring apart from some tunes. I have older siblings who are Beatles fans and I loved the Beatles cartoons as a kid in the 70s. When I was in high school in the 80sI saw the Compleat Beatles documentary and started listening to my sisters lps. They weren't popular at all at my high school. I got a bit of a ribbing for liking them. The only 60s bands that were popular were The Doors, Stones, Pink Floyd, Jimi Hendrix Experience and The Who. For me the Beatles are like vanilla ice cream: I really like it but I love so many more flavours and vanilla gets boring..... but there are people who love vanilla. Cheers.

The Beatles were one of the very select few artists who were, simultaneously, not only the most popular at what they did, but the best. Offhand the only comparison I can think of is Picasso. Just as "Ringo" has become a generic name for any drummer, "Picasso" has become shorthand for any painter. Even if one thinks they are over-rated or somehow not all that great, it is an objective truth that they were the most influential rock and/or pop artists in history. It is an objective truth that they shook the entirety of human civilization down to its foundations, whether directly, in the form of their music, or indirectly, through fashion, technology, presentation, marketing, image, identity, cultural influence (think of their popularization of TM,) politics, religion, morals, the list is endless. For one thing, recording artists did not include the lyrics to songs with their albums before the Beatles. For another, it used to be rare for recording artists not only to write their own material, but to be EXPECTED to. I know some people are sick of hearing about them, and I'm sure that, in some way, the surviving members are too, but hell, I'm sick of hearing about Beethoven.
