    Technically, convex lenses are better as they repel rays towards the sides, while these concave ones do the opposite by gathering rays towards the middle, which might cause vision nuisance (at some angles at least). All in all, it's a style n' fashion move.
    Keep it classic, Ray-Ban! Please no styldish moves heh

    I’m struggling to see any benefit to the reverse design. It isn’t available in prescription or with polarization and, according to Tyler, it can cause visual distortions to which the wearer will have to acclimate. It really seems like it’s just an aesthetic distinction that comes at the expense of useful optical features. Am I missing something?

      @derfrosch1487 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Nope. You're not missing anything

    • @BigBoootyBass
      @BigBoootyBass ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Yes this is an absolutely redarded design, they're simple flipping the lenses around for some weird aesthetic.

      Ya know how women wear really high heels that make them uncomfortable n add nothing bt a weird asthetic? It’s fashion mate, we are just too old to get this one I think 😂

    • @pinchtwo654
      @pinchtwo654 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@colinhedges4689 bro I ain’t even that old I’m 32 and I still don’t get it 😂. Your high heels analogy is spot on though. It’s like trying to prioritize form over function and failing at both.

      It’s a new unique style. It’s not meant to be practical or totally functional. But yes, wearing your pants inside out might be a cool trend with no harm - eyeglasses inside out, maybe not such a good idea for your vision and health 😂

    I was curious when these came out, and this is exactly what I expected. This is what happens when you try to make something "cool" by going against evolution and basic biology, that's the reason our eyeballs are convex. Now I get the guy from The spectacle factory (that guy really hates RB).

    I tried the aviators on at Target and they reflected the overhead lights straight into my eyes. That's exactly the opposite of what i want my sunglasses to do.

    Wouldn't the eyelash rub against the lens?

    • @sportrxeyewear
      @sportrxeyewear  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Prashanth! Thanks for watching! Depending on the wearer, there is a possibility of eyelashes touching the lens. The metal Reverse styles (Aviator, Caravan) feature adjustable nose pads which can help avoid this issue.

    Do they make original wayfarer with the brown frames and mirrored lenses? Asking because I would love to get them in RX!

    • @sportrxeyewear
      @sportrxeyewear  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hello! The original Wayfarer is available in black and tortoise frame colors. If you require prescription lenses, SportRx can craft a custom mirrored lens to pair with the frame: www.sportrx.com/ray-ban-rb2140-original-wayfarer-54-eyesize.html

  • @markvogelfaenger9801
    @markvogelfaenger9801 ปีที่แล้ว +8

    It doesn’t make any sense as the sharpest image is with perpendicular incidence which is obtained with outwards curvature so the glass is parallel with your eye globe. Wraparound frames are superior in this respect giving the most undistorted view when executed well. This lenses will result in inferior optics and lots of reflections that not even the best ar coating will eliminate. And for dubious aesthetic advantage? Get Oakley wraparound sports frames cooler and better. Or perhaps those very flat designer frames like those from Prada or Gucci. There is a reason for the original aviator design

  • @basedury
    @basedury ปีที่แล้ว +3

    these not only look stupid but also seem to have zero advantages over normal convex lenses. there’s literally no reason for these and i think they’ll probably be discontinued very soon

    • @BigBoootyBass

      They will probably sell well because people are so thick and shiet they see this revolutionary new reversed lens and buy to be different

    U guys failed at selling me on Reverse. I have to go watch another video because im even more confused.
    Its easy. Get a regular sunglass put it next to a reverse, give me different angles of them on both your faces, then talk to me about the technicals of Reverse, then go through different models but dont flood me with more size numbers. Show me colors, show me styles, and why are they jot polarized???

    Concave lens should mean less reflection on the inside, more on the outside... I think

    • @sportrxeyewear
      @sportrxeyewear  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hello! The shape (concave vs. convex) doesn't necessarily account for the amount of reflected light visible on a lens, and has more to do with the applied coatings to the front or backside like AR (Anti Reflective) or mirrors. Hope this helps!
