i would add shooter, balorama and olympian to the list. outdoorsman was actually released in 1939. clubmaster was released in the 1980's as a remake of the 1947 browline by shuron ltd. you should do reviews on polaroid, porsche design, foster grant, renauld, cazal, neostyle and lacoste sunglasses.

I love Ray-ban sunglasses, It look so cool and very classy. I have one pair of Ray-ban ( but just an imitation, hahaha) because Ray-ban is very expensive. I like the golden metal glasses.
Wayfarers are a bit of a sticking point for me, I have always shied away as they were just too popular and I like stuff a bit different, however, I recently bought a pair of amber coloured original Wayfarer with glass lenses and I really do like those a lot(I haven’t worn them yet, I need a temple screw, but they came with plastic lenses, so I popped those out and I cannot get the glasses lenses in. I heated the frames in boiling water, even used a hair dryer but just can’t get enough flex to get them in, and I have some damn strong fingers, I legitimately tore skin from my finger tips I was using so much torque! I’ll send them to an optometrist and have them straightened and lenses fitted soon), and also black ones with tortoise shell temples and a strip up the top with glass lenses, also very cool, very uncommon glasses. My top list would be my Clubmasters, then, seemingly the most unloved, the Baloramas!! CLINT EASTWOOD!!? They were the first ever really expensive sunglasses I bought and I lost them for 10yrs when I changed from a satchel to a briefcase and put my satchel into storage, with my Baloramas still inside! I cried when I was reunited!!! I just today received a pair of Air Boss, and I like those a lot, super uncommon, and really really cool. Next, comfort wise, I love the Chris. They’re a very common looking frame but if I’m going out and I know I’ll be wearing glasses all day, I wear my Chris without hesitation. I also bought some vintage gold Signet, and I really, really, really love those. I’d like to buy some Frank’s, and also some of the hexagonal gold frames in the near future. Oh one that surprised me with how cool it is, is the denim new Wayfarer, those things are so awesome!

Love the original 2140 in size 50 because of the tilt. I think the new wayfarers are definitely missing the definition and uniqueness because of (lack of) the tilt. Btw the 2140 in 54 size are very different as the lenses are taller and they don't tilt as much as the 50s. But the 54s definitely have that oversized look to them if you are into that.

Ah man, Ray-Ban Shooter didn’t make the list? Especially with the Ambermatic lenses. The Aviators and New Wayfarers are my favorites. The slant on the original Wayfarer doesn’t work with my cheekbones. I need to give the Wayfarer Ease a go.
Only didn’t make it because the outdoorsman came first. I could easily added another 10 more icons frames to this list to make it 20.. Ray Ban Olympian, Predictor, Shooter, Nomad… etc
@@ShadeReview I think the Shooter was 1938 and the Outdoorsman was 1939. I only jest about not including it though. It’s your list and you have to make the cuts somewhere as you point out or the list becomes unmanageable. The Outdoorsman is probably the more popular and known between the two.
Oh man, this is a good list! It can take up to 22 people to create a single pair of Persols. The Prada shade is an absolute icon. Maui Jim's have the best warranty and lenses. Nice list.
They are just a name on sunglasses now. They are not the same standards that were made by L & B. The brand is owned Luxoticca ( they own many designer brands).
My father and I found a pair of Cats 5k on the beach in Bolonia, never knew their name until now. Amazing how they were buried in the wet sand without a scratch on the lenses (but they did need some cleaning up of algae crust!).
