    1 V, the last successor to the true Xperia flagship.

    on point. cant understand how they changed from the excellent functional 21:9 back to a "whatever" format. going to skip all phones until 21:9 is back

      Won't be coming back, but I will say I'm missing the 1 VI in a number of ways.

    This is interesting, I don't normally go for the latest gadget, so in this case I've just bought a new 1 V and it kooks like, I've accidentally done the right thing I'm new to the Xperia range so happily learning my way around, looks like it might be worthwhile holding onto for a while ..

      Nice one. Glad to hear it. What did you run before this?

      @GroundedTech I had a Huawei Mate, it is long in the tooth with a dreadful camera by today's standards, so a big leap forward 👍

      @Brit_Toolmaker nice one. Well hopefully my upcoming videos are of use to you on the 1 V.
      Xperia is definitely a change to anything else out there.

    Agree with you 100 percent. Sony should keep their DNA, but sadly they have these corporate decisions and removed the Alpha Pro Apps.
    That's what makes sony unique plus the 21:9 with 4k resolution (but i prefer a 21:9 2K LTPO Display)
    and just improve all the cameras and should've added the 2x zoom in the 1V.

    • @GroundedTech
      @GroundedTech  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yep exactly. 21:9 2K LTPO would be perfect.

      I'll hopefully elaborate on it more in future videos but we'll see.
      Thanks for tuning in.

    Thank you for putting on screen what I have been messaging Sony about . As a user that has returned the 1vi I am 100% behind you in your endorsement of the 1v . Sony should have continued with the 1v and still made their “mainstream “ device . Instead of listening to Brownlee on YT and falling into the crowded sea of boringly glass slabs made by apple samsung and google as well as others .. trouble is that market is already saturated and you ain’t getting a bigger market share Sony . In fact Sony has let themselves down in chasing ratings and sales when they were always considered to be different enough to matter . A real shame ! If I can , I will purchase a 1v outright .

      Thanks. I don't think I'd be quite as frustrated if we had a new Pro model to sink our teeth into, but they'll probably just ruin that the same way now. Sucks.

    I find that the best screens for me are the ones with higher resolution. I even prefer the 4k screen on my 8 year old PC over any modern supposedly fancier but lower resolution OLED panels.

      Yeah I mean the 1 V does run in 1080p most of the time. The aspect ratio makes it feel right too. So nice to type on.

    Yeah I probably would go for the mark 5 as well! Because I love the videop app and camera app more.

    Yep got the mk 6 and why the hell Sony got rid of the video,photo pro apps I cannot understand wasn't a big fan of cinema pro because of its limitations but the others I do really miss, everything else is ok with the six don't find any discernable difference between this screen size wise and the 4K resolution,just hoping that Sony do put the same video pro app on with the update pity they don't put both back on.

    • @GroundedTech

      We'll have to wait and see what they do with the app.

    I'm writing this only because I own both phones, but to me its like choosing between 2 kids, the 1 VI has a brilliant battery life, day to day camera photos are good too, it has all the Xperia features I like, physical fingerprint reader, camera button, headphone jack, 2 TB SD card slot, all good, the speakers quality is night and day above 1 V.
    The 1 V is my work phone so I tend to use it less 😉 it's new but battery life is horrible in comparison, yes screen is 4K but somehow I cant see the difference, the dynamic vibration is nice to have nlbut not essential.
    As a Sony fanboy of 20+ years and after 9 Xperia phones back to back, I'd say the 1 VI is clearly head and shoulders above the rest, yes the new camera app is a bit cumbersome while the Pro app felt intuitive but it may get resolved soon. I much prefer this fatter chunkier Xperia after 4 years of using their slim screens.

      That's fair. I'm basically in agreement. The camera app situation I don't see being resolved in all honesty but let's see what they do.
      My biggest gripe was no new camera sensors. I'm hoping the VII gets some nice upgrades.

      @GroundedTech Xperias are never going to be the best, camera wise, that title goes to iPhones, whether be it the 12 MP sensor, 48 MP sensor, Xperias always have some problem or the other like low light dark photos, overexposure or slow processing, to me an Xperia is just about the total package, you can never find it in any other phone today, the seamless screen without punch hole camera, headphone jack, SD card add on and camera button, thats the reason why an Xperia truly excels in day to day needs.
      I wish I could buy iPhone but after the freedom and features of an Android, its too much of a prison to be in.

    • @GroundedTech
      @GroundedTech  28 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @NoName-bb2pu I see iPhone as one of the worst in terms of cameras tbh.

    • @NoName-bb2pu
      @NoName-bb2pu 28 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @@GroundedTech to me Samsung is the absolute worst, Xperia is great as long as one knows what he/she is doing, iPhone takes eyecandy photos, may not be super real in terms of color but it works. Samdung is just fake, worst color calibration ever, AI interference and AI edits the photos also like moon etc, that way Pixel and Samsung suck. Apple and Sony are still old school

    • @GroundedTech
      @GroundedTech  28 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @NoName-bb2pu I don't agree. There's no way I'd place Sony and Apple next to each other. Apple goes with Samsung for me. Pixel is better than both of those by far.
      As for Xperia it's in its own category.
