Great videos for sure I just want to mention that I’ve been following you from Put-in-bay to Ashtabula and all the videos to ft Lauraldale But, in Lake Erie., between Edgewater Yacht Club and and Ashtabula , comes Mentor, Ohio which is where we had our Pearson 30 , BUT next door to Mentor is GRAND River, Ohio ! Where they still Build the TARTAN !!!! I thought interesting , do you? at all ?
Thanks for sharing your adventure! As a WNY er I've been to many places you are going through and it's great to see it through your eyes. I'm really enjoying your travels and I hope you are too. Be safe and welcome to our little part of the world! -Dave-
Awesome video as always guys. Always look forward to them coming out. Happy to hear that over all it has been going pretty smoothly for you. Stay safe and look forward to the next video. 👍👍👍👍
You're going to love fairport ny. Lots to do and everything is within walking distance. They also have a neat liftbridge. You'll see a lot of those along the way too.I think they also have electricity at the moorings. There's lots of hidden jems along the canal.
Hi you were just passing the Point Abino lighthouse ( not working now) I will be their in a couple of weeks. Re the rolling , its hard to believe but the weight of the mast up high helps smooth out the rolling, on deck not so much! Looking forward to your Friday down the canal. Have you seen the 360 deg cameras , could be really cool footage as you go down the narrow stuff. Or..... turn the camera around when you are talking so we can see what's out there , thanks! Cheers Warren
We were surprised when you went from Blackrock to Lockport in he vide too. That’s ok though. Loved the video. Brought back Great memories from our trip in June.
This was an informative video! Thanks! One question, who supplies the straps and lumber to secure the mast to the deck? Contemplating this sort of trek to get south as you all did. Thanks!
Excellent video, wondering how you make the chart with the track you show at @1:00 really want to add that to my videos but never found out how that is done..
Hey, we spent a ton of time looking for a way to do that and this was our first successful animated map but it is far from a good solution. We used the Animaps website to make the map, but they don't let you download the finished video so we used screen capture software to capture the map being played.
Hello Scott! We’re currently anchored in Sandy Hook. We’ll be here until early tomorrow morning. Not sure if that’s too far out of the way (or we’re thinking of the wrong Newark).
as a person that has been looking at buying a sailboat near the Cleveland area and sailing it South as well I am curious why yall didnt use the Welland Canal to Lake Ontario? seems the Erie Canal is a awful long way to motor at 4 or 5 knots
The Erie canal is the easiest and most direct for us. There are many ways to get to the ocean. It’s kind of up to each person which one suits them best. :)
I work in Tonawanda for the Fire Department ... When are you coming through, I would love to check your Boat out and meet you ! I am actually on duty on Aug. 25,26,27 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 am all three nights
Excellent! I joked about how are you going to get over the falls in an earlier video, thinking you were going out the St. Lawrence. I didn't even think of the Erie canal! LoL and I grew up a few miles from it. Interesting video's thank you! BTW what is your draft?
How hard is it to get your mast and rigging back up? Im planning on buying a sailboat and want to take the erie canal to new york to the Atlantic ocean.
I am laughing my ASS off about your fly problem! Mostly because I JUST finished editing our latest video with the same problem. You guys are really making great time! -Duke
Guys, you have got to show more and talk to the camera less. We got minutes of watching a phone call, and then zero footage of the terrifying first lock. I really like you guys.... but I’m finding myself fast forwarding through most of your videos.
5:11 I was like, dang, he wasn't kidding about the flies!
I love lockport
Good job with these vids. You narrate very nicely. Good diction and speaking voice. Thanks for sharing.
Excellent video, thanks
Many of the cities along the canal have much to offer in intertainment , don't rush it , just enjoy.
It is all very beautiful :)
Great videos for sure

It is great that the family and I can enjoy your adventure with you as it happens. Keep it up..
Canadian Soldiers?
Just a tip, use long lined at the locks connect your bow line from the middle of your boat and back up to attach the stern
We’ve got a good system worked out for the locks now. Took a few tries to get there though. Thanks for the suggestion! 👌🏼

Good vid ya'll.

Fairport was our favourite! What a cool place to hang out
We really enjoyed Baldwinsville as well.
That was a lot of work, you made it look easy, great job! Love the journey !
this is something i always wanted to know about since i live in detroit and want to see how you would sail the lakes to get to the ocean.

Great videos guys
You need a Bug-A-Salt. Excellent fly killer and fun to use.
Great channel. I'm a new fan. Bummer you didn't show the Niagara River or Tonawanda. I keep my boat on the river across from the Canal entrance
Maybe you’ll see it in the next episode 🤫

Growing up on Lake Erie we called them Canadian Flies. I think Canadians called them American Flies!
One thing you will miss once you are out of the Great Lakes is clean, fresh water !
Excellent video, wondering how you make the chart with the track you show at @1:00 really want to add that to my videos but never found out how that is done..

Are you guys taking the intercoastal waterway all the way down?
Yes sure are
Great vid.. Good info about border crossing.. BTW. What kind of boat is that you have?
Thanks, Mike! We’re on a Hughes 35.
Is your monetization turned on? Not seeing any ads which means youre missing out on $$$.
So happy for you dice. Safest travels.
It’s on, we’re just waiting on TH-cam to complete their review. Should have an update within the next couple of weeks. 🤞🏼 And thank you, Ashes.
Well you are rocking it for your subs and views so far!
We live in Newark, free electric shopping near by. Would like to say hello when you are going through.
Hi. I think we hit Newark soon. Send us a message on Facebook

Oh sorry. We went through a few days ago

Hey thanks. Glad you’re enjoying. We draw 5’ factory but with all the added weight I’d guess more like five five foot five
Thanks for the reply!
How hard is it to get your mast and rigging back up?
Im planning on buying a sailboat and want to take the erie canal to new york to the Atlantic ocean.
Why aren't you taking the counter-clockwise loop? Do you have concerns about it still being hurricane season in the Atlantic?
Intro made me laugh. I imagine it’s them little fish
Wow! confusing. Do you have to call in every time you anchor, too?
No. From what we understand, we only have to check in when we hit a new state.
Old first mate trick on Lake Erie NEVER WEAR SHORTS! You will get eaten alive! Better to sweat than be eaten!
I am laughing my ASS off about your fly problem! Mostly because I JUST finished editing our latest video with the same problem.
You guys are really making great time!
-Duke
And now we’re laughing our asses off because who’s video just popped up to watch next!?
-Candice
Hallo!
What app did you use to check in with customs? I didn't quite understand you in the video.
It’s called the Roam app
FYI scour the internet and you can find free moorings for a day in NYC.
Why didn't you sail Ontario to Oswego?
We had our heart set on doing the Erie Canal - heard some really cool stories about it so we had to see what it was all about. 👌🏼
@@LadyKSailing ha, even from Oswego you will see more of it than you want. Rochester area has some nice stops.
Where did you stay in Erie ??
Hi. We released a few episodes that cover Lake Erie if you look back. If I recall correctly Put In Bay, Huron, Conneat, Ashtabula, Erie
BETTER WATCH FILLING THOSE FLIES ... Lake Erie has limits on those things ...
Who is this guy 0:38
And what’s up with the kids, assuming they are in school?
Flies, dirty lake
I must have missed the reason, but why did you have to take your mast down?
Guys, you have got to show more and talk to the camera less. We got minutes of watching a phone call, and then zero footage of the terrifying first lock. I really like you guys.... but I’m finding myself fast forwarding through most of your videos.
Sorry, we didn’t want to spoil the next video which is in depth of the locks and canal
