- I reach the end of the Erie Canal, Farfalla becomes a sailboat again and tastes salt water for the first time and I check off one of those big bucket list items, sailing down the Hudson River into New York Harbour!!!

Good idea on the ball fenders. We used same setup for the trent system a few years ago. Works great..

Congratulations on untying the lines. I just finished restoring a 1968 H38 over 5 years. Looking forward to more and seeing you out sailing off shore. They are truly a special design and sail so nicely! Fair winds from the North Channel (in summer 😉).

Just heard you on Paul Trammel's latest episode of his 'Offshore Sailing & Cruising' podcast -- loved it and it's so awesome, as well as inspirational, to learn of other sailors living in harmony with the sea, with nature! I'm also a sailor, though still sailing on the inland lakes, in the midwest, where I grew up. As a teenager, each summer, I also enjoyed sailing/cruising in the Great Lakes -- the Apostle Islands, Isle Royale, and Mackinac Island. I hope to trailer my Com-Pac 23, SV Charm, up to Lake Superior so that I can revisit the places that shaped my life so long ago. Eventually, I also hope to also go offshore and sail to faraway lands! I am also a musician, singer-songwriter; I play 'ukulele. I look forward to exploring your music and following your sailing journey aboard your beautiful Farfalla! Great undertaking on a great boat. How is the Atomic 4 liking it?
She has had a lot of issues that I’ve been taking care of as they happen. Most I was prepared for with spare parts preordered before I left. She now has a new alternator, water pump, electronic ignition, thermostat and housing, electric fuel pump and most recently a new carburetor, fuel lines and new racor style fuel filter. But through it all I’ve been super impressed with how well she actually keeps purring along.
Florida already!! I can't wait until the next one! Scariest part was to watch the storm. Funniest part, "OH SHIT!" I didn't put the windex back on? What is a windex????🤣
Haha it’s the little wind direction indicator that sits at the top of the mast. Basically a windvane.

Brian, can you recommend resources I can do my homework on moving a 50 foot sailboat from New York to Lake Ontario? Do people ship the mast to a forward Marina? Are there depth issues if I have a draft of 8 feet?
How much did it cost to have the mast put back up? Great video ❤
Can’t remember offhand but it’s based on the size of the mast. I’m 49’ and it was in the $300 range?

would have loved to seen this vid but just not possible with that annoying horrid noise that some call a tune or music blasting away.
