Hey! It works the same way even if it’s on the same sheet. Just find the search parameter, the table with the search item and result and use the formula. Here’s another shorts video I posted… maybe a different perspective will help… th-cam.com/users/shorts-dX2QUgMYKw?feature=share
Hello, thanks for sharing this video on VLookup. I have been trying to solve a challenge on an excel spreadsheet where I had two sheets. One sheet contained the space where I am expected to input my data from using the VLookup formula and the sheet two is where my source data is located. Now, everytime I apply this formula to make sure that the cell reflects the lookup value I am looking for, it will return empty or a wrong value. What do you suggest I should do?
It could be because the lookup array and lookup value are not constant (using $) or the lookup values are not unique. Hope this helps. Ofcourse I can't be sure without going through your data files. Maybe watch my xlookup and hlookup videos for more example cases on how lookups work
@@BossYourOffice I need to transfer data from one sheet to another one using Vlookup, The first sheet has around 43 columns and I need only to transfer 20 columns and that contain specific rows values . Can you help me?
@@AliAli-cc7vy yeah basically you need to have the same unique field on both sheets. Use vlookup 20 times on each of the 20 columns that need in the new sheet
It's hard to say based on the info you have provided. I recommend watching the video again and also watching th-cam.com/video/QySnWDlvUMs/w-d-xo.htmlsi=iEW6JaCnl8OoKqls This way you'll understand the fundamentals and you'll be able to tackle any issue on your own

I am a donkey and could not figure it out, but you made me understand it. Thank you
Not working for me. Not sure what to do. Ugh! I get #N/A
It's likely there's a difference in the Lookup_Values
Have never used vLookUp earlier. But I'm quite confident of using it now, thanks to your easy-to-follow instructions. Keep it up.
How to create in 1excl sheet? From Different sheets data!

This was really helpful and your clear explanation about the column_id helped me fix to get it to work for me.
