I have tried it many times and it has worked well but I am not sure whether there are any disadvantages of this method. When you try this method, make sure that you use the Column function (without S at the end), not the ColumnS funtion. I should also note that it is an amazing video. MIN and MAX are numerical functions: that is, they won't work with text. So if you needed to identify the lowest or highest *score*, you'd use them by themselves. However, if you wanted to return not the score but the *student's name*, you'd need a VLOOKP.

Just one thing was not explained and I had to go to other videos in order to understand it. This was the 0 in the formula at the end prior to closing the brackets. I learned that 0 or "False" is added when you want the vlookup formula to return an exact value from the table and column where we need information from.

For smallest and largest values, we can simply use =Min(K4:K8), or =MAX(K4:K8). Why incorporate vlookup? Makes it complex.
