@@TheDennyBros In 3.22 they removed the mole from salvage missions. Right now you need someone who owns a mole in order to get the ore bags. Or be like me and just buy the mole for only stealing the bags for my Prospector 😅

One addendum: with all the inventory bugs at the sales terminal at the TDD, I've lost quite a bit of money and time. It not only takes time to travel to for instance the New Babbage commons area surface entrance, but if part or all of your refined ore simply vanishes it's really frustrating. I simply fly back to the refinery and sell my ore straight up without refining it. No hassle, no danger of losing my hard earned ore.
If you take the time to rearrange your materials with a tractor beam so all materials are stacked separately in your carrier, you can eliminate this. Takes a few minutes of time, but I like the tetris loop.
Hellp! I don't understand how to mine on the Avenue now. The good stones are all big with the inscription "impossible", what it means and how to beat it. I've heard that there are some bombs that I can separate smaller masses, but I can't find them. Who knows what they are called and what this bomb looks like?
There are no "bombs" for mining in Star Citizen. There are gadgets which can help manage different stats on a rock, I have a whole video on using mining gadgets on the channel As far as the rock difficulty, you can ignore that. I break rocks listed as "impossible" all the time. It's just how star citizen rates its difficulty but you can power through it usually, unless the mass is way to high. A prospector can break upwards of 25,000 mass if you have surges on a helix 1
Why would you buy your hauler first while renting your Prospector, rather than Buy the Prospector while renting a Freelancer? The rent on the FL is cheaper than the Prospector and you can then customize your laser to tackle the more difficult and profitable rocks.
A prospector is singular in its purpose: it mines. Getting something like a Taurus, sure, it is a solid entry level hauler but can be uses for many other gameplay loops allowing more bang for you buck. Plus a prospector is much cheaper to rent than something like the Andromeda. You could rent a cutlass instead but it'd get pretty old making 30 trips to the TDD
Tried mining and couldn't sell gems. Gave me "mismatch price" error. Guys in chat said mining is broken right now. So are bunkers. I think only salvaging and bounties work right now.
I'm gonna get a vulture or a prospector. I've seen a few people saying salvage is the easy big money now, but I feel like it's too monotonous without interesting challenges. However, I'm worrying that if the prospector mining is worth the time and effort compared to the vulture salvaging. What do you think?

There are some serious game breaking bugs at the moment with the prospector. I've lost my bags out of nothing and can't get them back. I'd have to ask someone else with a prospector to unlock theirs and take them out during a spacewalk

i think i've stuff up my scanning settings in my freelancer ,,,i see the bubbles but no boxes and boulders are showing from about a 1000m out gems which i am looking for because i'm in a ROC are only showing when i'm nearly on top of them i have to watch intently for when the glimmering markers show as to where the rocks or gems are . Ive tried to change the settings but nothing shows on my HUD
These are known issues within the issue council, make sure you contribute! On a more helpful note: that's been my e experience as well. Boulders typically only show that far out. Gems used to show further out but 3.20 isn't really getting patched, 3.21 has all the fixes. RS signature can be really helpful when ROC mining. Lower numbers like 9k or less are usually gems. One hadanite ROC has a signature of 620, so any multiple of 620 is a clear indicator of gem deposite you want. There are a few issues with the scanning UI right now but they seem to be fixed in 3.21.

Nice video. I've been looking at gameplay I've not done at all this IAE (I mainly do investigation and such), and mining's kind of appealed. This is incredibly comprehensive with no unnecessary fluff. One question: I assume by TDD you mean major port like Tressler or Area18?
Thanks man! The TDD is available only at major cities, it's different than the commodity terminals you use to sell other goods. The TDD is located at the main business area of NB, that's why you see a lot of ships parked on the ice: saves a tram ride and makes it faster to sell than any other city.

Have you checked in 3.21, I have found rocks with scanning and when I get close to the rocks the scanning does not work at all, I press M and it does not scan either. your tutorial is very good. when the Scan range is modified by the scrolling the mouse wheel is there any indication of this?
Yes, the UI pops up on the screen when you're in scanning mode. It's a giant white circle on your screen with the scan angle on the left side. As far as being in mining mode and it not working. Occasionally there is a bug where it won't scan at first sometimes, just flip mining mode on and off a time or 2 and it should work.
In 3.20, I am currently experiencing the cargo transfer fails bug due to the stacking of cargo. So sometimes I fails to sell my refinery. Just out of curiosity, would the ARGO RAFT help with that problem? Since we can't even see the cargo stacking up in that ship.🤔🤔
Best way to avoid this is after loading cargo. Go in a tetras it all out lol. The raft is a smart idea, the devs have acknowledged that the game doesn't let you load it into a raft for whatever weird reason. There is no work around tho and they've advised simply not to use it(for refinery orders) until fixed.
I've heard a lot of people say that, but after the 3.19 and 3.20 changes, the lancet is not what it used to be. It's not really worth all the hassle that comes with its buffs and debuffs in my opinion, but definitely isn't the go to choice.
is there a spot on my ship ui where i can see the scan increase or decrease I'm on Lyria right now and there's nothing around me and when I do find something it scroll wheel doesn't seem to work on zooming me in?
The scanning UI is invisible but still works on 3.20. They have fixes this issue in 3.21 but they won't be patching it on 3.20. Unless it's a game breaking issue it's not getting fixed until 3.21. The PTU is super stable to play aside from occasional 30k.
It still works, the UI doesn't come up. Go through all the motions as I described and it'll work, you just won't see the scan angle or UI but it will ping rock deposits

Literally u can rent a ship with a size 1 laser for 50k a day do a couple bounties and start mining if that’s what u want to do and u only have a titan or whatever
Should I do mining or salvage 30ks? Im trying to get back into the game and wanna make quick money. Ive seen that the 30ks are raking in huge profits but arent they gonna be nerfed soon? Mining is more of a long term profit. I dont know what to choose..
You honestly can't best the 30k and 50k salvage contracts with their cargo. Spending that much and selling it for millions within an hour is impossible to compete with. When and if that gets toned down, it maybe more in line with other loops.
The recent patch fixed the drug spawn in the 30K risky salvage missions. I did make 700k from 2 30K missions, but no longer am i making 8-13mill per mission. Maze does not spawn in huge quantities any longer. But still..its more money per hour if you can sell. I like to hover above brio's salvage yard, and server hop until i find a server where there is nobody waiting to gank ships trying to sell. :D i've made my 90mill in those weeks, so im good on money now. People say it's futile because of wipes, but i haven't had any ships or uec wiped since 3.18 hit.
Aye, do whatever you like in the verse! Making money is never bad and it's nice to be able to buy and fly all the varies ships, even if they do wipe in a month or two. There is no wrong way to play SC...unless you're a dirty pad rammer 👀
CIG released a statement after I published the video saying they removed it temporarily from the salvage pool because it isn't optimized for the salvage mission, but they will add it back at a later date.
@@epic_grayfox it's okay, thanks to selling risky c2 mission maze safely at admin with jumptown mission for 160k I was able to put together 30m+ and I bought a mole and dismantled it. Anyway I am not sure how you are doing 600k an hour, I can barely fill half of 48 scus with valuable tier 1 materials, the rest is taken by useless quartz and inert and that takes probably 3-4 clusters if I am lucky finding a 8k-10k mass rock with 40%+ tier 1 material. I calculated something like 200k every two hours. Very low income and increased difficulty with the higher instability.
Where do you go mining? I head to Lyria and Ariel and I trip over bexlite and taranite constantly. With how much they upped spawn rates I don't even bother with most other Ore unless I stumble across a really large borase rock
@@epic_grayfox I tried Arial and Magda, now I moved to arccorp. I tried Wala yesterday and will try lyria today. I find good rocks to be honest but a lot are 20k+ mass and impossible to crack with a prospector. I'll keep trying :)
How does the scanning work? Dont you need to enter scanning mode by pushing v once and then calibrate the scanner? Ive tried this but i cant see the change in scanning radius the minimum being 02

@HansImWald when you start the game you should start with a pistol and a few mags of ammo. That's enough to get through your first bunker. Guards spawn and assist. Also, if you don't want to refuel your ship, alt +F4 and you'll auto exit the game. You will spawn at the last station you were at and you can claim you ship. Claiming is free if you wait out the timer and it'll be re Armed and refueled for free basically
In my experience, when I search around asteroids they usually are solo rocks and you have to fly to multiple rocks to fill up. Planetary rocks can be solo but more often spawn in clusters.
Quantanium is easier to find now than in 3.19, but nothing like prior to 3.19. Personally I think the mole is better for solo mining for so many reasons.
Very handy lil piece of info. 600k an hour is do-able but it takes enjoyment out sometimes. You have to do the bag swap and you have to be able to execute a prospector run from start to finish in 15 minutes. Achievable, but requires no nonsense and go go go type of gameplay.
how is this for biginners when you must have two milion auec cradits to buy a ship i am playing this game for a very long time and two milion is still very far for me
After published I realized I forgot the short segment about RENTING a prospector, so I apologize for that. You can rent a prospector at the rental kiosk at any refinery station. It's in the same room as the refinery shop(below the refining terminals)
bro this aint mining for beginners lol. You need a ship that costs 2 mill. When I spawned I only have 30k lol. No way enough to start ship mining you really need to start with FPS mining and how to make the most of it. Just my 2 cents, speaking from a broke boys perspective.

CIG actually just came out and said they took them out because it "wasn't in line" with what they wanted for salvage but they may re-add later

What about Lancet now? Haven't been mining for a while, and it used to be the best back then.

How does the scanning work? Dont you need to enter scanning mode by pushing v once and then calibrate the scanner? Ive tried this but i cant see the change in scanning radius the minimum being 02
The scanning UI being invisible is a known issue, its submitted to the issue council. It still works, you just can't see it. Go through all the motions and it'll work.

@HansImWald when you start the game you should start with a pistol and a few mags of ammo. That's enough to get through your first bunker. Guards spawn and assist. Also, if you don't want to refuel your ship, alt +F4 and you'll auto exit the game. You will spawn at the last station you were at and you can claim you ship. Claiming is free if you wait out the timer and it'll be re Armed and refueled for free basically
Why mine on a planet? Thats extra time of getting into and out of atmosphere...
In my experience, when I search around asteroids they usually are solo rocks and you have to fly to multiple rocks to fill up. Planetary rocks can be solo but more often spawn in clusters.
so in other words if you just started playing star citizen there is no way to try ship mining

Quantanium is easier to find now than in 3.19, but nothing like prior to 3.19. Personally I think the mole is better for solo mining for so many reasons.
I was blown away with that saddle bag trick, been playing for ages and never new that. However, not a big fan of the 600k title, kind of misleading.
Very handy lil piece of info. 600k an hour is do-able but it takes enjoyment out sometimes. You have to do the bag swap and you have to be able to execute a prospector run from start to finish in 15 minutes. Achievable, but requires no nonsense and go go go type of gameplay.

After published I realized I forgot the short segment about RENTING a prospector, so I apologize for that. You can rent a prospector at the rental kiosk at any refinery station. It's in the same room as the refinery shop(below the refining terminals)

bro this aint mining for beginners lol. You need a ship that costs 2 mill. When I spawned I only have 30k lol. No way enough to start ship mining you really need to start with FPS mining and how to make the most of it. Just my 2 cents, speaking from a broke boys perspective.
You're totally right! I forgot to put in where to rent the prospector . You can rent it at any refinery rental kiosk for I think 20k or so. Sounds like a lot but after a hour you'll have already made that back
