    If you have a chance, check out their instrumental versions. Their instrumentals can be standalone because of how the construct their songs. According to the members, Kanami creates an instrumental shell. Akane makes the rhythm, Saiki develops the melody based on the rhythm, Miku writes the lyrics, and Misa freestyles the accents. No wonder a lot of reactors comment on their cohesiveness. Listen to a song and it's like each member is doing their own thing but somehow the voices and instruments unify. No one steps on each other's toes.

    Manners is a very special song for the band. So special in fact that on their special edition 2 CD set of Unseen World, this is the only song that appears on both CDs. Unseen World has two themes: Roots, the type of music they started out with and Progress, the type of music that they are taking on as a challenge going into the future. Manners was the last song written for the album as a bridge between the two and therefore appears on both the special edition Roots and Progress CDs.
    Miku (Rhythm Guitar and Backup vocals, lyricist) stated in an interview that the lyrics for this song is specifically about Band-Maid. For context from the very beginning of this band, they had the goal of World Domination through their music. They had a difficult beginning, not being taken seriously and often ridiculed for having such dreams. The lyrics talks about the difficult beginning, but making progress through courage and the band's evolution, beyond expectations, breaking through the limits. Their mission of taking over the world is still unfinished but they are going to make their sounds roar until its in their grasp. The backup vocals towards the ends calls out to Masters and Princess (what the band calls their fans) to join them in their continued quest and into the unseen world. With paid attendance from 67 countries for their Online concerts speaks to their years of hard work starting to pay off.

    Kanami really is the intellectual genius in the band. Apart from her amazing ability to compose incredibly different material but enquiring mind into psychology and economics. She sets the standard then the others add their unique talents to the songs. Miku really showed a difference here with her screams, her lead notes and slides but her lyrics stand out in what her objective is in particular. The Unseen World and the band's objective to rule it. It's just a matter of time and probably language that will do it. Kanami was a magical find for Miku online. A real 1 in million gold mine of musical majesty in composing.
    Remember their names though. Adds that personal touch that maidiacs really tune into.
    Misa on bass.
    Akane on drums.
    Kanami on lead guitar.
    Miku on rhythm guitar and vocals
    Saiki on lead vocals

    Kanami Tono is writing their songs mainly... They all call her SENSEI for a reason, she is a musical GENIUS! She can write songs in so many different genres and ALSO put them together in ONE song that it just sounds amazing, don´t know how she can do that... Akane and MISA doing their part too and cooperate with Kanami that it fits. MIKU is writing the lyrics and SAIKI is the last stand so to speak, she hears the song and gives it a GO or NO! So they are all involved in the songwriting progress, but since 2016-2017 it´s mainly KANAMI!

    The unique aspect of the Band-Maid writing process IMO is the music is always written first by Kanami. Kanami creates a demo along with a vocal melody. Miku write lyrics based on her own interpretation of the music afterwards. Miku and Saiki work out the lead and backing vocals. Misa adds the bass line, usually very quickly (1 day). Akane uses the programmed drums for reference and usually has to dial it back to something playable by a human.
    The newest development was that Saiki wrote the lyrics completely for the first time in the new song Corallium, which is a B-side on the recent Sense single. In true Band-Maid fashion the B-side (in this case two songs) is probably better than the single.

    Growing up in the classic rock era, this song definitely blew me away the first time I heard it. It has that classic rock groove but with all that unique Band Maid goodness throughout. I absolutely love it. I’ve shared this song with a few friends and family and they’ve loved it to. One of my older brothers said “They really have their stuff together, don’t they. Wow”.
    John Entwistle is definitely a good reference point for Misa - not that she’s playing exactly like him - but her bass takes a similar prominence and importance in their music in the same way his did in The Who. And it never hurts to be compared to one of the 3 or 4 guys most often recognized as the greatest bassist in rock history like Entwistle is. If your younger and don’t know much of The Who’s music, check out their song “The Real Me” for a great Entwistle bass extravaganza!
    Rock On 🤘🏼🎸✌🏼🔥😎

      I think that MISA seems have a lot of influences from Motown music style too. Soul music and rhythm' blues from 60´s and 70´s.

    • @joki5346
      @joki5346 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Apart from the fact that MISA's mother used to listen to The Who and Jimi Hendrix, I see a lot of similarities to James Jameson, the member of the Funk Brothers, who played these incredible bass lines with the high notes in so many Motown productions. Another aspect regarding to Motown I've noticed by listening to "Warning" is the background chor, which reminds me to the song "Bernadette" by the Four Tops. No idea if they are knowing about this old music style from the mid-sixties.

    Lead guitarist Kanami Tono (Kanamincho) write the melody and sends it out to the others, describing what kind of feel she has with it. Miku Kobato (rythm guitar) write the lyrics with input from singer Saiki, and drums (Akane) and bass (MISA) write their own parts. MISA composeses her part interely ind her head!

    • @realdocloco
      @realdocloco 2 ปีที่แล้ว +13

      That's partly true, but what Kanami send them is much more elaborated than "the melody" - she's known for having much arrangements already written at that stage , but yes Akane and Misa are then expected to come with their own ideas (as an exemple, for "Black Hole" , Akane came with different drums patterns ranging from "rather hard" to "hell" ... and of course the band chose "hell"). Final decision about the songs is often made by Saiki.

    when I first heard this song at the start I was a little disappointed. I'm not a big fan of Blues, and I put 'Dragon Cries' at the bottom of my Band-Maid rankings (still a decent song, but by Name-Maid standards?) so when the song started my first thought was 'shit, another Blues song. I'm not going to like this one very much!'
    I wasn't finished the first verse when I was thinking, 'hey, this isn't going to be one of those boring formulaic 12 bars blues songs (should have known,) and by the time the first chorus was finished I was thinking this is actually a damn good song, then by the end it was near the top of my Band-Maid favorite list.

    Dude, whenever I tell my friends about MISA, I always compare her to Entwistle. I mean they are very different, but when it comes down to the nitty gritty, she has taken the "I'm gonna run you over with my massive truck of a groove" mentality into the modern era.

      There are lots of reasons to recommend either. You know what you like about the MV, but on the live we get the MISA/Akane intro, the synth riff is more audible, and since we know Kanami plays both the lead and rhythm parts for the studio recordings we get to really hear Miku kicking ass on her guitar.
