I have lived in Phoenix, Arizona for 33 years and have watched the police and fire departments doing their jobs. Because I worked for the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office I sometimes worked along side both departments. Most often we at the county jails would be calling for Phoenix Fire to respond to a medical emergency with-in the jails. They understood this was our house and they acted accordingly. Lives were saved because we at MCSO and the fire and/or police worked as a team to make it happen. I consider these departments to be number one in the nation!!!
I want to be a firefighter since I was very young and I'm only 12 and I want to be a phoenix firefighter because I live in Phoenix and phoenix is a great city
The Recruit Academy lasts approximately 14 weeks. Those who successfully complete the recruit program are placed in the field as probationary firefighters for approximately 9 months.
