When i was 11 years old and knew nothing about jets, this was my favourite mission of any game.
I remember being like this is the most realistic thing I've ever seen!

Looking back this mission was pretty unrealistic but I remember it blowing my mind when I was young.

HARM don't use the target pod, and HARM are fire and forget you don't have to stay focused on target, as long as the HARM has an active radar signal to ride down it'll hit
And if its in range ofcourse
Actually, HARM does not require enemy radar to be online to hit it will remember its location. Earlier Shrike did not have that option!

@@koekiejam18 from my understanding even once a mobile radar turns off they shouldn’t be able to mobilize immediately , if your running sead you’ll probably fire as soon as your Agm-88 as soon as it sees the radar

This mission convinced me beyond all doubt that battlefield devs think that “How copy?” = “over”, as they close out seemingly **every single radio transmission ever made** with HC
I'd love to see a mission like this for a casual game but with authentic comms and reasonable tactics. It's not like being in the ballpark of reality would make it less cool, in fact quite the contrary.

It would be neat if they asked Mover to help them with any Aircraft missions in the next game assuming they're doing modern combat.
I mean, I get why they can't show actual procedure, but would be cool if they have at least some consultants to make everything as authentic as possible... Nobody has ever complained that "Bah! This shit makes too much sense!"
Correct me if I’m wrong mover, but I believe you can designate targets for JDAMS with the TPOD, obviously not using the laser, but it essentially works like designating a coordinate that the JDAM can use.

Interesting that the jet mission was such a swing and a miss, considering how much Matsimus loved the tank one.
Probably a different group of the studio responsible for each section?
Basically what the Devs did is make you be able to do everything, without having to fly and most other things that you could fail at. Since 80% of players have a hard time with even these simple controls/physics, I think it's a good decision haha

So am I the only one who was massively disappointed by the mission? Like I expected to get to fly the jet so when I found out what the mission was actually like, I couldn't contain my disappointment.
I despise this mission. There's no way to train to fly in BF3 short of getting into a live multiplayer round and hope you get to the airplane before someone else does. Then just figure out the controls on the way up. Miserable.

Please react to the two airplane bombing scenes from Shin Godzilla (2016).
The biggest issue is that the JDAM "laser-guided bomb" 😆 is dropped way off the target in the wrong direction! There is no way it could reach it.
I just saw trailer for "Active Stealth" from 1999. It has some action scenes with F-117. Looks like a good ruin candidate.

i'd love to see you try your hand at a VR flgiht sim called VTOL VR as i find its a fairly decent flight sim, though it lack hotas support and relies on vr controllers for controlling the flight and interacting with the aircraft, it works quite well.
Next, you should watch the AC-130 mission from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. Probably the most fun COD mission there was.

One thing I get confused about is the second dogfighting scene, it says "take out the remaining migs" and yet they're flankers, also I don't remember if Iran has any flanker jets yet they're trying to by the SU-35 or SU-30SM

Mover check out "Project Wingman", it is a bit similar to Ace Combat but also differs in various aspects.
A-10s would have BRRRT the fighters on the airport instead of bombing them

from layman perspective, I've heard you could get the coords for jdam from the lase, but even then, wouldn't you just point, get coords, drop, get coords for another, drop; or better yet, get all coords at once and ripple the jdams..

The SAMs might be with the AAA, or maybe not, cant always trust the enemy to be capable of thinking and breathing at the same time in these games
The funny thing about "how copy" is you're literally asking the other party to repeat verbatim what you just said, e.g. "Sandy-2 this is Zulu-1, immediate, hardened bunker at AN565205, neutralize, how copy?", means you're asking Sandy-2 to repeat back everything you just said. It might be important to get the grid coords correct, but saying "how copy" for everything would be ridiculous.

Pilots dont use NVGs during carrier landings?
Is there any specific reason for it?
We typically don’t use NVGs period for landing (except spec ops and A-10s with covert landing areas). For the carrier the violent impact would be terrible for your neck and likely detach them from the bracket.
@@CWLemoine just the lights of the deck would probably blind the pilots I would think. I know you can’t tell the difference between brake lights and headlights under nods.

Yes. You need safe separation so you don't frag yourself. Also for laser guided bombs, you need time for the bomb to find the laser spot.
