+Gustavo Pérez No shit, people are so ignorant about music today it's disgusting. Nothing original about this song AT ALL. And it's not even a good song. How the fuck did this guy win grammys....
...and the Beatles got it from listening and playing the Afro-American Blues. The body of Afro-American Blues is over a century old, nobody knows who did it first, but one thing shure it was by African influence.
Can't believe I have to wait until the 4th of feburary to purchase his album, the low point of living in England. but he is still smashing it as usual!!!
Awesome Song. Awesome Riff. While it is somewhat similar to the "Come Together" riff by the Beatles, it is NOT the same riff. If you really listen and know the notes riffs being played then you will also know that it is NOT the same riff at all. Great song Gary !
It's about time you came out with an album, Mr. Clark!!!! Do you realize what a blessing you are to music? How rare you are? I'll never get sick of that EP, but I'll be damned if each listen didn't make me want more!!!! Keep it up! Also I performed to this song at my pole dance graduation last Tuesday! I sucked, but at least the music didn't!! :D
GC Jr is alright with me. Just watched him in a movie from six years ago ( Honeydripper with Danny Glover ), back when he was young(er) and skinny(er)...lol. BTW...White, Hendrix, The Black Keys...he would love the comparisons, I think. Gary Clark Jr. is of their caliber. You are right, the classicrock69. Great place to be.
If you like his lead guitar playing on this song - the guitar tone & the playing style, give a listen to Doug Pettibone's lead playing on Lucinda William's studio recording of her song "Righteously". Very similar.
Can anyone else hear Slave & Bulldozers by Soundgarden mixed with Come Together by The Beatles ? I still really dig the tune and I hope the rest of the album has that dirty bluesy sound
When you've only got 12 notes to work with, you're bound to sound like something else that came before. "Come Together" itself had elements taken from Chuck Berry's song, "You Can't Catch Me". So it's all been done before; these days you just have to disguise as best you can ;)
Really really heavy distortion maybe with a lil fuzz under the foot too check out rig rundown on youtube it tells all I when I play it I turn the trebble down a lil and the bass up alot too
First, this guitar riff sounds like it should be on Badmotorfinger. I kinda here something between Slaves & Bulldozers and Outshined if it were mixed with something bluesy Black Keys.
Here's where you are all wrong!!!!!!! This guys Lyrics and Style is influenced by alot of the old Blues Artists.... Muddy, Howlin Wolf, John Lee Hooker and then throw in that Hendrix Style Leads and you have One Great Modern Blues Artist. Hooray for Him keepin the Blues alive and Modern!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
People have been accused of plagiarism for a lot less :P Unless you want him to play the exact same gear (Lennon also used Epiphone Casino's actually, and the Beatles also played through fender amps for Abbey Road) and the main differing factors that the riff on Come Together was on Bass and featured the iconic drum fill..... Musically it is the exact same riff, any ornamentation added does not make it any less of that riff. Besides, Half of Zeppelin and the Keys' material were covers anyway.
...sound like a brother doing his thang and getting off on it, personally...don't get the hendrix comparisons or the hostilities, he's a new artist still making his sound as he goes along...not just watching someone on youtube and secretly tearing them down...just my opinion though...
So rough, it makes sandpaper feel like silk.
The guitar tone is like crack. It only takes one instance for you to get addicted…. That fuzz is INSANE!
this riff is bordering on legend status.
It fucking is!!
John Almanzor It is a legend. It's called Come Together by a band called The Beatles. Look it up.
+Gustavo Pérez No shit, people are so ignorant about music today it's disgusting. Nothing original about this song AT ALL. And it's not even a good song. How the fuck did this guy win grammys....

Chris Rowan And who are your favorite original guitar players ?
You're gonna wake up Jimi.
I swear......... Gary Clark Jr is one of the gods of the guitar.
Sounds just like Gary Clark Jr.!! Amazing!!
+William Slaughter i know right!?!?
Wrong
He sure does
The riff sounds a bit like come together by the beatles but still i dont freaking care because its Gary Clark Jr and this sounds amazing!
Paulo Carvalho love the foreshadowing 😉
There are a shed load of influences on this but it still sounds new and fresh.
Gary, sing what your soul dictates, not what the market wants.
Sing the blues, kick ass pop music.
I love blues,i love you... save the blues
this is the first and only singer in my subscription list, love his music, and i like that he's not been touched by the music industry
Music is the same whether it's pop or not. Love it for its true value, not for its level of popularity.
Can't believe I have to wait until the 4th of feburary to purchase his album, the low point of living in England. but he is still smashing it as usual!!!
GARY CLARK IS AMAZING IT KEEPS GETTING BETTER DONT DIE ON US!!!!!
Awesome! Just love the cyclic rhythm to this song. Feels like it could go forever and never get tired of it.
DAT.FUZZ. Epic stuff right there.
That is a killer riff!
with that being said, both are amazing
You got a special sound Mr Clark, Never loose it!
Diggin' the groove.... way to rock Gary. Love the heavy tone, and we are fuzz brothers from another mother.... ROCK ON!
I like him no matter who he sounds like. He sounds like Mr. Clark to me.
I just can't wait for the album to be released!!!!
plus an fender vibro king. its cracks goooood
The music needed a guy like Gary.
He's been signed by Warner Music. They own over 30 percent of the labels in the USA
It's normal for people to compare a new artists to an already established artists. In time it will be "Man these guys sounds like Gary Clark"
Well, if only the Black Keys could sounds like this again :p. Nice song ! I really like that kind of heavy blues.
I'm a huge Beatles fan.. But the bottom line is, I don't care whose riff this is.. Because it sounds fucking tasty
When I heard that on the radio, I thought it was another song from The Black Keys or Dan Auerbach. The voice is so similar!
the blues are alive :O
Love it!!! Hendrix Jr! 🙂
Great..., i Don't have words for this....., Great.
Awesome Song. Awesome Riff. While it is somewhat similar to the "Come Together" riff by the Beatles, it is NOT the same riff. If you really listen and know the notes riffs being played then you will also know that it is NOT the same riff at all. Great song Gary !
This is what I'm talkin' 'bout!
Simplemente me enarome de tu musica, lo mejor que escucho ahorita.... Saludos desde Mexico
Dios mio! quiero llorar, esto si es música!
this song needs a video!!
seems like the Black keys had the first album 2001 , and J C jr. in 2004
that is what Wikipedia says , but they are both great bands !
JRE brought me it. Awesome fuzz.
descarrilhou o trem mané!
just seen him preform this on Conan...pissed i ain't find this sooner!!!
It's about time you came out with an album, Mr. Clark!!!! Do you realize what a blessing you are to music? How rare you are? I'll never get sick of that EP, but I'll be damned if each listen didn't make me want more!!!! Keep it up!

Gary Clark Jr. + Black Keys= New age of rock
Rock soild groove Gary......this is what i was expectin off the new ZZ TOP album...they dropped the ball in my opinion,...glad you picked it up.
HELL YEAH!! Heavy, groovy FUNKY SH*T!!! Pure SOUL!!!!!!!!!
No joke, my loading bar was violently shaking during this song.
Yes! That's what he sounds like
Man i had no idea who he was until i saw him on lollapalooza (brazil), i wish i had knew him earlier
If you like the sound, try black box revelation for example with there song high on a wire!
Makes amazing music, maybe the revivalist for blues!
Love that fuzz man get into thst
Just powerful dark blues!! thxxx
I want to be absorbed his music!
YEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAH Bring on the heavy stuff Gary! Love it
This is great performed live. Saw it last night on the late show, Fuckn gooood
If you like his lead guitar playing on this song - the guitar tone & the playing style, give a listen to Doug Pettibone's lead playing on Lucinda William's studio recording of her song "Righteously". Very similar.

AWESOME .
Like a rusty Buick pickup with a V8 soundtrack cruising across the desert.
(I know there are no Buick trucks, but this song is just like one)
Excelente Tema!!!!..
yes... yes YES... and so it is!
Good vibes from Transylvania !
keep on rocking '
can't believe I just heared his music for the first time just a couple of weeks ago ö
When/where is Gary playing in NZ in Feb? I'm dying to see him!
When you've only got 12 notes to work with, you're bound to sound like something else that came before. "Come Together" itself had elements taken from Chuck Berry's song, "You Can't Catch Me". So it's all been done before; these days you just have to disguise as best you can ;)
Gonna buy this album.
Awesome song!
This tone! Amazing!!!
Gary Clark Jr. sounds scarily like Dan Auerbach in this song...it's freakin crazy
The keys have never done anything even close to this good? What are you on? I'd like some of it, it seems very potent.
Sounds like Jimi Hendrix meets Jack White... and that is good place to be.
wow!! muy bueno
The song I would go into battle with.
Badass.
reminds me of Come Together, I love it!
I feel like his voice is quite different from Black Keys, but to each their own. I love this guy anyway.
He's not good, he's amazing!
Except that he's signed with one of the biggest record labels in existence.
Really really heavy distortion maybe with a lil fuzz under the foot too check out rig rundown on youtube it tells all I when I play it I turn the trebble down a lil and the bass up alot too
Good stuff
Damn awesome.

I think it was this guitar that brought down the walls of Jericho
Wow.
Epicness...
en su mejor actitud hendrix!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Es mas que eso es gary clark
Sounds like some new age Jimi Hendrix good f****** s***
It really reminds me the "Come Togheter" riff... Cool song though...
Here's where you are all wrong!!!!!!! This guys Lyrics and Style is influenced by alot of the old Blues Artists.... I dont know what it is... But you've...got...it
sick piece of art! people who crying about Black Keys shut up, and listen the music
Yeah, it's definitely tight(!) but what happens this becomes the new "pop" music? Just a rhetorical question.
Jimmy Hendrix would be so proud of this....*****
this sounds exactly like the black keys i cant even get over it
filthy good
People have been accused of plagiarism for a lot less :P

He's like if Jimi laid off on the acid and took more weed.
...sound like a brother doing his thang and getting off on it, personally...don't get the hendrix comparisons or the hostilities, he's a new artist still making his sound as he goes along...not just watching someone on youtube and secretly tearing them down...just my opinion though...
Agreed.
