- Five Army personnel were killed and six injured after terrorists attacked a military convoy in the remote area of Jammu and Kashmir's Kathua district.
Since the second week of June the South of Pir Panjal has seen a rise in the terror attacks.
But what has been a huge area of concern is the kind of weapons found on the terrorists.
They’ve come armed with American M4 carbines, thermal imagers and night vision devices.
But the most important find are the Ultra sets. The seizure of highly encrypted Chinese telecom gear or 'Ultra Sets'. These are hybrid VHF/UHF net radios. This is military grade communication stuff.
Encrypted communication has been a part of Pakistan’s deep state games. In Mumbai 26/11 16 years ago, it was voice over internet phones. In Jammu today, it's ultra sets.
How important are these communication sets and how are they a gamechanger in our fight against terror?

The kenwood radio sets you mention were needed to trigger the RCIED BOX (radio controlled improvised explosive device box) that was responsible for over 85% of casualties during those days
It appears these RCIED boxes weregiven by weatern powers to Taliban to fight the Russians in Afganistan. After the Tussians ran away these got used on us.

communication etc are all being done by these SSG commando's
