Thx uri for actually providing the majority of players with useful information. On youtube this type of video doesnt attract many viewers because many have the ego to look into higher stakes analysis/hands. In fact I see you taking a step back in boosting your youtube channel to rather help the people. This is somewhat interdisciplinary as you talk about psychology and it´s really what people need because not everyone can spend money on coaches. That way you benefit the motivated people over the mass that wants to be entertained. But logically it would make sense to offer CFP to those people. Either way its appreciated and as you dont do everything only for money I hope we can expect more free tipps :)
The reason I made this channel originally was actually to help low-midstakes players rather than high-stakes, so i'm still looking for better ways to do that.
Really liked this format. As someone who made similar mistakes such as the AK all in pre thinking it was super standard, I can say this video would help.
Whenever a live pro, and a low-mid stakes pro at that, writes they have a very deep understanding of poker theory, in my head it always reads in Phil Hellmuth voice
Awesome video and I really like the format. I think execution, focus and mindset are very important. I still feel a bit of skepticism whenever I hear someone say that they know theory really well. Maybe I'm misguided on this, but I believe the nuances of GTO are hard and even the most studied and accomplished players would make massive blunders playing against the solution. I think having humility about this and cultivating an "always room for improvement" mindset could help a lot of players, especially those of us who study a lot and may have entitlement tendencies. It's great that this player has shown vulnerability and opened themselves up to criticism. I am rooting for their success!
Thank you for the commentary. Upswing has done a lot for me over the years and it's a lot of fun watching you comment on the blog. I think I grew a lot through this experience. A lot of what you said came up on the forum as I was posting more and I took a lot of it to heart. Still working hard on the game. I'd love to chat sometime. :)
Nice Format. I'd like to hear more of the underlying concepts for your decisions. Like in the AQ Hand f.e., "I'd mostly bet the turn because the Qd blocks some of the continuing range" or whatever the case might be...
This is absolutely fantastic. I can relate to a lot of these spots. Just had one last night in low stakes. Had pocket AAs in UTG, open raised to 3BB and got one caller, SB. Flop comes JsKs2d. Villain donk bets half pot, I call. Turn is 8d, he bets 3/4, I call. River is Jd, he bets pot, I call. He shows up with 57d and scoops with a backdoor flush. In hindsight, I should have raised the flop donk bet, as I was expecting something of a spade flush or straight draw-- definitely did not see backdoor the diamond flush coming in. A lot of times vs the aggro fish, I find it's better to just let them put all their money in (If I have a good read on their range). I definitely felt those tilt emotions after losing most of my profits for the session on that table. But I thought if Villain takes this line every time, I'm going to be winning a lot with AAs. As you mentioned in your video, it's so important to zoom out and see the bigger picture. Edges are realized over a long series of play, not just a couple whacky coolers.
I appreciate the analysis. I actually analyzed that spot on the forum and solver prefers check with QJ, and the funny thing is I randomized a mainly check/sometimes bet with this combo because I think generally we wanted to be betting hands that dominate his c/r, versus hands that aren’t good vs his continue range. Regardless I think the AQo hand was much worse and I studied dozens of spots like it. Choosing which Ax/Kx/Qx to triple barrel in 3b pots is super important, and AQo with Qd in that spot is a near 100% triple barrel.
Your review is quite professional, as it usually is. Yet people (and by "people" I mean many solid/winning regs) have legitimate concerns about the integrity of the game and very strange outcomes on sites like GG & ACR. If you ask me people have all right to be skeptical when sites don't even bother themselves to clarify about the scandals, collisions, team-plays, ghostings, super-users, and other dirty/shady allegations.
@@shavuri TBH I AM worried, really! The edge in poker is not that big (specially these days) to close our eyes to dirty side of this game. I prefer to stop playing this remarkable game rather than have faith in famous but shady (irresponsible at the best?) operators. I don't even need them to explain/defend themselves anymore, the silence seems loud enough to my ears. And my prediction is: someday (not even that far) they would be exposed for what they've done behind the very pretty curtain.
I’ve been poking around some other sites while traveling since putting a pause on the challenge. ACR is on a whole other level. It’s hard to believe there’s such a skill gap on one site vs all others. Does feel at times like you’re playing vs bots. Some people swear they win, but it’s mostly after rakeback like myself.
@@Acewingman11 Oh brother, they've manipulated the game in every possible way to gain max value from our most deadly weakness: loving this game. try it, it actually works on 1c2c i played for giggles the other day and ran up to 10 buyins in an hour one tabling, playing 80/50/30, never calling any bet, only betting and raising and mainly shoving most hands by the river, and just avoiding the obvious traps.
Hey Uri, I’m curious on your opinion of flatting the BTN. I’m a zoom player and want to play for a living so I have a lot ahead of me. I have heard many different theories from 3bet or fold, to flat with rec players in blinds and to just always develop a BTN flat range/strat. I’m currently just playing 3bet or fold but I feel like I’m leaving some EV on the table and if I want to play at a higher level I should put some study time into this spot as I have not yet. GL with everything, I appreciate your content. ☠️👍🏻
I think you can probably have a flatting range on the BTN at most stakes. However as far as I have seen it is much better at higher stakes because of the lower rake. I have a flatting range from BTN (25NL on GG) I think it’s fine as I am fairly confident postflop. However I am not actually sure how good it is in that rake environment tbh
I originally posted the the thread in brags, bad beats, and variance because I know how triggering it can be for people to see this stuff. That night I was so frustrated. Eventually it got moved to poker strategy, then eventually to blogs as it evolved over time. Happy it did. :)
Yes, Uri, coach us!
More coaching, please!
Interesting format Uri, hope you do more of these! Kinda makes me wanna start a blog at 2+2 for myself XD
If you do it post me the blog and you'll be next on my list ;)

Uri has a CFP program.

Humility is one of the most important things when studying poker or anything in life, it's what lets you keep learning/evolving.
Yea it's a red flag. Good players would never claim that
Really enjoyed this one. Can definitely relate to your advice about focus. I can also relate to losing a lot of these hands in the hand histories !
Great format Uri! Love the longer videos. I'm gonna post a bunch of hands then recommend my own blog 😀
Yes, post a link and i'm happy to go over it.

thnx for the vid, hope to see more!
excellent content, uri . would you also review some hands from crazy battle going on b/w linus, steffan, berri sweet also?
Sure, any hands in particular you'd be interested in?

Gave him same advice on the analyzed hands. I also thought slowplaying QJ with the straight on the turn is a no-no. Great minds think alike B-)

Definitely everyone has the right to be skeptical. Personally I know way too many people beating these sites over large samples to really be worried.

try it, it actually works on 1c2c

Good change of pace, just too many bad beat stories.
