Great episode ! I'd like to learn more about the fighting in Kerry. Any recommendations ?

Thanks very much. T. Ryle Dwyer's "Tans, Terror and Troubles" gives a fairly good overview, Niall Harrington served in the National Army and wrote "Kerry Landing" about his experience with the forces that landed at Fenit. Ernie O'Malley's Kerry edition of "The Men Will Talk To Me" has a lot in it as well but is exclusively made up of interviews and doesn't follow any chronological order. You get the story right from those who were involved though, many who refused to engage with the BMH later on.

Very informative and well told. The father of 6 mentioned was my great uncle John Conway.

Irish politics are way more complex than American politics.
Still trying to wrap my brain around it.

I haven't seen confirmation of it but it is an image that is much associated online with the Battle of Ballinalee, maybe because it features on this post: www.paulobrienauthor.ie/war-of-independence/gunfight-at-ballinalee/
It doesn't feature in the entry for Longford in "Atlas of the Irish Revolution".

Something interesting about Ballyduff that you mentioned is its called "Baile Dubh" because the British burned down the original village.
