    I wonder when you disassembled it, did you come across a safety slip clutch or anything. it does not say it has in the manual, but these type of machines tend to have it

    How did you made it to open the hammer on the button?

  • @martinrob7230
    @martinrob7230 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    my problem is that the drill bit stops spinning under the load. The machine makes terrible squeaking and rattling sounds. Any idea what went wrong? My suggestion is that there is some kind of clutch which is broken.

    at 08:22 please somebody ANY Ideas what is happening there? My drill is always turning the shaft, even when in "hammer only" mode. --> Hammer only mode is selected at the start at 08:21. I know what the knob and turning is doing to the small gear (pressing down a plate with spring under the gear wheel so that it is connected to the shaft and futhermore to the hammer mode).
    But what is happening when you want to deactivate the turning mode of the drill shaft??? the power goes through the big gear wheel. But the knob and this turning plastic plate seems to do nothing!!!!! arrrgh.
    (when the plastic plate is turning into the camera and then turning to the LEFT side (hammer mode only) there is.....nothing. only air.

    Your no AVE but I still like your vids. Lidl tools amaze me with the quality vs price. The20v range running 4ah battery is cracking.

    • @xmeda
      @xmeda 6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      AVE has undeniable engineering knowledge base... that is the difference.
      Batteries are hard to get for any older (4-5y) Parkside models and re-build often is unsuccessful because there is small micro with firmware stored in its flash memory. When you remove old cells to solder new ones, that flash dies quickly without juice and even if you install fresh 18650 LiIon batteries, it won't work at all and charger will do nothing.. and there is no way to re-flash that micro at home. You need hex and programmer.
      While even for my green low-end Bosch screwdriver from 1996 I can still order new battery pack... That is the difference.

    I got the titan one and it's fantastic this is not brushless my friend. This is OK for drilling but do not use for busting out concrete get the titan...

      i've busted concrete cement, stones and rocks and it did it with ease. almost 20 hours straight for 2 months and works like the first day.

    For the cheap price still beat up the Bosch

  • @xmeda
    @xmeda 6 ปีที่แล้ว +11

    OK, switch is cheap with no micro, cables are thin and unprotected from vibrating all around inside. Regulator CEM-1 material board is not protected from dust or moisture by any coating. Body plastic is definitely almost not reinforced, probably below 20% glass fiber filling to save on tooling. Motor is not brushless as there are carbon brushes with just a wire connected and attached in plastic with no proper copper cages. Rotor and stator windings are only relying on wire lacquer and have no other protection at all, which is very bad for such tool. Lubrication used in gearbox looks to be the cheapest type which has to be regularly refilled/replaced after some use. Gearbox has no seals too. Gears are pretty roughly shaped powder sintered metal type. Gear selector is attached to plastic knob... I bet that bearings are not shielded at all also.
    This tool really is only suitable for short term low volume light work... no doubt. With all the dust and vibrations present on construction/demolition sites it will die very quickly. I suggest owners to do long pauses frequently to let it cool down during work. And to buy some better lithium based grease for the gearbox..
    Andrew, when you are removing motor from housing, remove brushes at first...

      :) next week this rotary hammer is going to be offered in local Lidl czech stores. It already is printed in advertisement papers. About a year ago I was tempted to buy the previous model, parameters are nice on paper, but after looking at it closely with own eyes I've decided to rather invest some more money and later I've bought Metabo UHEV 2860-2.. it cost three times as much, but materials and assembly are much better. Also it is posible to order any part even for 10 years old drills, which gives some more confidence.
      But yes, if somebody just needs to drill few holes and destroy some tiles in one flat.. this Parkside might be ok. Anyway I would recommend to blow the dust away from motor with compressor after any use at least.
      It will be nice to see this hammer after some upgrades - those things I wrote above like shielding for stator + rotor. Shielded bearings. Proper wiring with vibration mitigation, better brushes and better lubrication.. it will add maybe €10 for production cost, but it will last much longer then. As a customer I'll happily add those €10 or even €20 for these improvements. Unfortunately masses see only the lowest price :(
      Andrew. .do you plan to review PAH 1300 demolition hammer too? :) It looks like copy of some old Hitachi with cheap parts, so it might be interesting to disassemble it too..

      True, I used it very rarely, to drill a hole or two in a wall. The first time I used it for a serious job, it died after 45 mins or so.

    Dear Andrew you do know what a brushless motor are?? 4:23

    • @JAKOB1977
      @JAKOB1977 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      anyway I can see you realize it later in the video, even though you could clearly see the brushed-rotor, but a huge + for your dedication and IM left with the feeling that you just watch a bunch of AvE tear-down-videos. and thought sure no problemo I can do that' let me take one of my power tools and jump out on deep water.(kudos for that approach, but the real problem is usually getting it all together and you did)
      but anyway great video, and this also how you learn by simply going at it, and great that you share it with us.
      keep up the good work Andrew.
      Cheers from DK.

    I bought this machine last week and it did its job of removing concrete well. After an hour of demolition work on concrete when the silver part got hot a black grease started running down the chisel. I worked for another hour after that. I couldn't remove the chisel from chuck. I had the machine replaced by Lidl the next day and the new one has the same problem. Any suggestions?

    • @TechGuruAndrew

      I guess i should start a "ping pong" with service as soon as I finish demolishing concrete around my house then. How did you get the chisel out of chuck ? Would a quality grease prevent that problem ?

    • @ClemOnShow
      @ClemOnShow 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I had exactly the same issue with mine, replaced by Lidl. After few months the new model has the same problem again. It would be great to have a video explaining how to fix the chuck / chisel assembly.
