From a die hard collector, racer of 50 years I'm sticking with Kyosho high quality and precision. I do love Team Associated and have many of them from over the years but Kyosho is the GOAT in small scale
I can't say I agree bud....... I've been onto small scale rc for years and the mini z that I've had have been shocking. I have bought 4 awd one's, a MA010 & 3 MA020, after running the 020's for a while the reverse failed on all 3 😢 all I have left that works well is my dinosaur MA010 which it's retro crystals for the radio gear etc..... I do still have my MA020..... would you happen to know, is this a common fault? What can be done to rectify this problem? Cheers small scale bro!
digging the fact that more places are dropping affordable rtr's. although i plan to nab a LDRC drift rc to start, this would be a great "step up" and one that wouldnt break the wallet. Great vid!
@@Rahzarusfilms yup. Totally
Not 100% sure but i believe those extra pieces for the front are so you can convert it to a wider track width.
Yes. I found that out from other drivers at the track and also there's motor pod pieces to change orientation as well from mid to rear from what I'm told. Thanks for watching
@@AccessRC sweet 🧐👍yeah that all sounds correct👍enjoy your micro scale adventure!
That looks awesome
Yea. I really like it so far.
Very nice video looking forward to seeing more content ..
The black grease...
I would guess it's to change the way the differential behaves.
If your rear diff is to stiff. Problems going around a corner may happen.
This can help bring the rear end around under braking and acceleration. Pending track and tires.
I think I'm going to get one.
Thanks for watching. Thanks for the black grease info. I Definitely like the car. I just need to learn to drive it better. I found a way to disable the gyro so next track day i will see if it helps me or not as well as tips that others have given me. Get one. Its good value for the price.
@AccessRC
I agree.
I have one mini Z I purchased on sale a long time ago.
Like you...I can not justify spending nearly 200.00 on something so small that's in the 1/10 scale price range.
I would imagine some hard body plastic models will fit as well.
Depending on the wheel base.
@NBC_NCO Yea. The one I got is already configured at 98mm which I think is standard for most mini z. I got a hard body on it already, so foe next track day, I hope not to break anything. I made another video of fixing the knuckle and how a hard body fits if you havent seen it already, check it out.
@AccessRC excellent !
Rear wheels look too narrow for the body, and I’d never be able to look past those body mounts sticking through the roof. For the price, I’d just go with a Mini Z. I’m glad I saw this video before seeing them on the Hobby shop shelves.
I just took the posts off and added a Jom 98mm hard body. I'm have a track vlog uploading. Also found a way to disable the gyro.
Looks like the extra top and bottom motor housings are used to shorten the wheelbase, but I could be wrong.
I think you're correct from what others have said.
I was shocked how terrible looks when you open the box o boy
Yea, its definitely ot Mini Z detail for sure. Just thin lexan body.
Similar to the old xmods. The wltoys is better as in aluminum chassis and less toy grade looking than this. But hex on this almost is the good trade off. Xmod. Not the new ish. Hex mod.. even tho the hex mod is toy grade. Its possibly a better choice at 50$ each even down to 37$ now on sale at Amazon
I'm thinking about grabbiing a wltoys to mess arouund with it. I just took the SR27 to the track and it seemed to run fine, although im a rookie driver, I have a track vlog uploading at the moment. The guys at the track think its decent and not toy grade as they expected up close. But it will all come down to support. Its not even a couple weeks old, so we shall see. I'm open to giving it a chance.
@@AccessRC losi nascar is a arrma grom . But longer. Might want to check out one of them , American vehicles:)
I'm not super familiar with the Mini-Zs, but in my head they just seem better than this. This seems like a tiny step up from their 28 scale line, which is not great. I just don't get a "quality, hobby model" vibe from this. Will it actually perform competitively with the Mini-Z?
I think after setting it up right it might be able to compete in box stock. I think it's the lexan body that makes it look less hobby quality, they do have replacement parts and soon to come hop ups. Check out my track vlog. Thanks for watching.
For how much they cost they come with a plastic t-wrench that’s kinda cheap
I got ths one without rechargeable batteries and charger for $119US.
@@AccessRC still a plastic t-wrench c’mon
the instant it came out of the box it was an immediate "nope" as this car looks horrible, and the chassis looks like a 20$ toy. There is much better stuff in that scale on banggood for less than 1/2 the price like the WLTOYs 284131. I know, different category, but for the price you can get the new Losi Micro-B, which seems to be an absolute blast.
I agree at first when I saw the lexan body was not very impressive. Check out my vlog where I took it to the track, other drivers say it looks decent and similar to a mini z underneath. I think with the right set up it can do good on the track. My driving wasn't great but I had fun with it. I might pick up a micro b at some point. Thanks for watching 🙏
Ya the body looked pretty cheap
pretty much a wish/temu mini z . this thing looks horrible. might drive nice who knows.
Yep, doesn’t look very good at all. The rear wheels are too narrow for the body, which to me makes it look horrible. The spur gear looks like it’s just waiting to eat up anything off the floor or carpet. And the body mounts sticking out of the roof…😢
I just took the body mounts off and added a hard body. Took it to the track and the other drivers thought it was decent. I just uploaded a vlog with me driving it at the track.
Mini z competitor? Do you own a Mini-Z as well? I'm just curious why you thought they were even close?
I don't own one yet as stated in my video. But the title and thumbnail have a question mark at the end so as not to make it a statement. Everyone is entitled to an opinion. I took it to the track and others think it could hold its own in a box stock race if it was tuned right. But hey, it's my first mini rc so I'll see how it goes. I do plan on getting a mini z in the future.
That's a toy. The Mini Z is much more hobby grade.
I remember back when Kyosho first came out with the Mini Z and everyone was calling it a toy. Now they are the main stage of this scale with a huge parts support. All the parts on the SR27 can be replaced and can use aftermarket parts. In the end, RC's no matter what size are all toys we are just playing with.
@AccessRC but the mini z was more like the TamTech cars of the late 80s and more recently which were all more hobby grade then this thing is.
There will never be a Mini-Z competitor. The reasons is all the tracks that you can race only have MINI Z racing, they do not allow any other cars. The most popular class is box stock and thus it is in fact a Kyosho.
Maybe this gives the opportunity to have an open box stock class or maybe other companies will join in making Mini-Z scale RCs.
