3:18 I’m sorry chief but personally, I disagree, during the operation SUFFER event I have lost SO many games because a wide variety of the player base want those 10tons and so EVERYONE goes on a2ds or lancasters or he177, do217 jet bombers and “bomb rush” causing our team to lose the airfield before anyone has died. However I do understand this is realistic you are playing, but even so, in the Rb matches me and my friends play the same thing happens but on a smaller level
Tl;dr bombers can be REALLY powerful on some circumstances and shouldn’t be stigmatised for what they are
All it takes is two 234s and 2 238s to end a match in under ten minutes.

Funny thing about bombers being useless. I've been playing this game for two and a half years, and I won my third game with bombers two days ago. I've been revisiting the Italian tech tree and spading all of the bombers. I got to the penultimate models in Rank III, and went into a game completely stock. Even stock, you can carry 18 100kg bombs, which is enough to destroy two bases.
So I get into a game with two other bombers, an He 111 and a Fw 200, both seemingly fully loaded. 111 takes out the left base, I take out the right bases, Condor punches straight up the middle and bombs the airfield. Unfortunately, the 111 gets ganked on the way back, and by the time I'm back to our airfield, everyone's gone except me and the Condor. I take off and start side climbing, engines constantly burning even at a 10° climb going at almost 200km/h. Condor gets back to the airfield followed by two fighters, both die between his guns and airfield AAA. The last two guys are nowhere to be seen, so I eventually climb to about 4000m, drop my bombs, and get the airfield within a hair's width of being destroyed, which pissed me off a bit. He does the same a couple minutes later, and we actually managed to win a game with nothing but bombers. I was absolutely amazed.
FW-200 is very bad bomber. Better use the "Schnellbomber" line: Ju-88, Do 217(M version is very fast), Ju-188 - extreme fast, almost like Ju 288 premium, and 2x MG 151 20mm gun.
@@marcinos303 I've never used it myself, all I know is that he had a lot of bombs and is the reason we won that match. I do love the Ju 88, but I don't have as much experience with German bombers.

I fly with bombers only occasionally, for example during events.
I think that of the heavy strategic machines, the best in the German tree is He-177, despite the very high repair costs. It is even better than the Me-264.
Among fast medium bombers, the Do-217, are great. I prefer the M version because of the best performance, although at the expense of weak defensive weapons, but it takes 4 tons of bombs (4x1000) - that's really a big drop..
The Ju-188, is already a new generation aircraft. It is smaller and lighter than the Do-217. It takes 2.8 tons of bombs, but is extremely maneuverable, it is driven like a Mosquito or Me-410. In a light diver, you can easily fly up to 700 TAS on . In addition, it is heavily defensively armed - under favorable circumstances, it is possible to fire at an enemy bomber from two MG-151 cannons simultaneously.
If you are fed up with slow flying bricks that have difficulty getting over the target or have to fly almost in the stratosphere to survive until the drop - try German medium bombers. Probably only the B-25 can get close to them with effectiveness.

But you really can’t get this thing like a normal premium... right? I can’t find it in the tech tree and it’s not on the gaijin marketplace...
I have a PS4 account and it was available iirc like on WT anniversary or something is when I got it.
It came with a Thrust Master stick and throttle for PS4 that had a redeemable code inside that gave you this aircraft. I got my thrust master in late 2018-2019 and the code had expired but that was one of the ways to get it
It goes on sale everyonce in a while. Got mine in an ace pack with p47m and p51d-10

After falling in love with p38L it's really hard to get back to this when it felt like bricks were added to your wings.
You can always fly with me. I love climbing up to mid to high altitude and I primarily play Russian Aircraft. I love the I-225, Yak 9U, and I-185s the most :).
I climb, I have the patience. But I am a terrible shot...so I do better with Turn and burn. But boom and zoom is more interesting for the challenge

tnix88 I like the La-5FN the most out of the Las that I have. I will probably end up getting the La-7 after I finish researching the MiG-19PT because I want to get the La-9 to see how it is. I’m thinking that it’s basically a La-7 with slightly better performance and instant killing weaponry.

I love my P-38k. I was so lucky to buy it when it was put back up for sale a year or two ago. Definitely one of my favorite US props. Along with the P-51D-10 which is my favorite P-51.
I was so lucky to cop the K when it came back! & personally I enjoy the P-51D-20NA a little more

Sorry but as a P_38K owner this bird is NOT recommended and here is why 1.- You teams are all tanker trash farming SL so dont give a shit about anything but farming 2.- You will ALWAYS be alone because see rule 1, 3.- Because of the AU1 you will ALWAYS be at 6.0 where allied teams are fucking cancer because of all the bomber and attacker spam, 4.- The P38K doesn't have dive brakes so if you see your team getting slaughtered 5k below you? Yeah fuck all you can do to help, and 5.- The only birds that can climb with you on USA teams are premiums like USA LF and the 38K which good fucking luck getting any pal.
If you want a tier IV USA premium? Get one of the Mustangs, either Daddy's Girl or the D20 They get a MUCH better BR, are often paired with damn good birds that climb like PM1, King Cobras, and Spitfires, and the teams aren't full to the brim with tanker trash farming SL because they can make more SL by shitting all over 5.x allies thanks to cheap repair costs for SL gain.

Now with the stupid new low-quality map changes, bombers are even more at a disadvantage when it comes to having an influence. Bases don't count anymore and airfields can't be destroyed... so wtf are you able to do to be a danger to the enemy team??? Seriously just massive BS. (and no, I'm not a pure bomber player, I play everything)
After using this for a handful of matches ho-lee shit the time on target needed for these guns is whack. I feel as if they are artificially nerfed. The performance of the plane is OK in terms of climbing and acceleration, but I have had plenty of K4's and J2M's keep up with me trying to rotate around them at high altitude.
Game audio is definitely too loud, spit. Good content, otherwise.
It truly is the altitude king (if not the P-47). However, king stil won't beat an ace, the almighty Ta 152 H.

I think the G56 crashed because the start alt is approx 1000m. He was looking behind him at the P38 with 1000m of alt left and then crashed.

Have you tried out much of the A-36? It's really good for it's BR and I have had several very nice games with it, usually getting near 12-18 ground kills and around 2-3 air kills in it. People severely underestimate its performance and it's quite good at taking people off guard.

I thought this was a bad plane. I took it out for dogfights at 300.
Its kind of nuts how much time on target is required to destroy in the p38's... Good at lower BRs but trash at 4.7+ in comparison to the competition.
Have you tried it recently and do you use tracers and air targets? Because that shit shreds and you are probably not hitting as many shots as you think you are hitting.

Dont know about in-game but irl the normal tech tree P-38L has quite a bit more horsies for the same layout and general weight, so shouldnt that be a better plane

No. In real life, the P-38K was a P-38J-1-Lo, with 1850HP F-15 engines, AND 13'-6" three blade hydrostatic Hamilton Standard high activity paddle props.
The dural blade electric three blade 12' Curtiss electric prop that the War Production Board *forced* Lockheed to use on the P-38 was inefficient and unreliable, it placed an excessive load on the electrical system, and wasted about 20% of the available horsepower.
The P-38L-1-Lo had F-30 engines that were capable of 1875HP (or more, at 3200 RPM and 76" -80" of boost) but they were downrated to 1750HP, and it still had the junk Curtiss Electric props.
You would be right in thinking that it feels like a G model with better engines because to my knowledge it is indeed a G with very strong Allison V12s (and potentially a different propeller).
I do love the K though, compression and dive speed is definitely very annoying.

The P-38K is actually a P-38J-1-Lo, which has no dive flaps, no boosted ailerons, and has the old curved windscreen. However, it also has 1850HP F-15 Allison engines, and 3 blade, 13'-6" Hamilton Standard hydrostatic high activity paddle props.
It is what should have gone into production in July of 1943, instead of the P-38J. Despite being approved, and requested by Material Command, the War Production Board denied Lockheed permission to shut production down for two weeks to change over.
Even a year later, in May of 1944, Material Command again requested that the P-38 be upgraded to the 1850HP F-15 engines (the P-38L had 1850HP capable F-30 engines that were downrated) and the Hamilton Standard props (which would have by then been 4 blade) but once again, the War Production Board denied the request.
The truth is, were it not for the War Production Board, the P-38 would have had everything the P-38J-25-Lo had in May 1944, as early as August 1943, plus the 1850HP F-15 engines and Hamilton Standard propellors.

The Ta 152 actually is my favourite German prop. Airspawn, high altitude monster, energy monster and a joy at high speed dogfights where you pull 10Gs like it’s nothing

@@Spitflyer you just seem to flip flop on whether or not you seem to even want them in the game. You weren't wrong long ago when a squad of bombers could win by base rush. It's a frustration I share TBH and I like you and what feels like orange.... like fighter meta. It's why I've moved to bigger better things like DCS for instance where so much more is mission oriented but if you just want to pvp, there are servers for that too.
