I have a question. There are the 37mm havoc launchers like spikes tactical makes. You can relode those with black powder as long as you stay below a threshold for your propellant and the explosives. The 37mm launcher is known as a signaling device. If you shrunk down the moartar size would it be legal to launch them without registering it.
That's because the bean bag rounds are manufactured to be anti person. So they are defined as DD. but if a device is not specifically manufactured as anti person. And by the definition of a DD being, (“destructive device” means- Any explosive, incendiary, or poison gas bomb, grenade, rocket having a propellant charge of more than four ounces, missile having an explosive or incendiary charge of more than one-quarter ounce, mine, or devices similar.) As long as there is no projectiles and you stay below these parameters it shouldn't be considered a DD. Or am I just not understanding the definition properly?
Love the dogs. So much like having small kids...lol. As for the devices, even having a non-energetic device can get you in trouble if you have black powder or the items to make an explosive as they can get you for intent. There are so many ways you can get tripped up via the layers of state and federal regs. It really isn't worth playing around anymore as the stakes are too high.
Unless of course you are precluded from having that right(98-100% of the population by current guidelines) used to be only if you excluded yourself by committing a felony now if you've ever felt depressed, ever known or are related to a felon or someone who's been suicidal or been prescribed medication for almost anything) but I do agree we shouldn't be blindly giving out the specs for the a-bomb but printing something is so much more work then actually going out and acquiring it through other means besides the IP aspect which he points out, and I totally agree with AI can make a model just from the pictures of this video so I don't see the point in trying to enforce any ban on small arms... it's the foundation of freedom "the great equalizer" as most presidents have said.

Hey there! This video on 3D printing is awesome! It got me thinking about a wild idea: what if we could print objects layer by layer, but from the inside out? Imagine a 3D printer on steroids, with a spinning mold and robotic arms depositing materials. We could create super intricate mechanisms or even build entire structures floor by floor with spray concrete. This "layered construction" approach could be a game-changer for fabrication! #layeredprinting #futureofconstruction
Suggestion: the black powder claymore/ Kent tube. 19th century claymore mine. Cast iron pipe sealed at one end black powder and a load of musket balls facing open end. Well sealed with wax fabric at business end. Basically a sawed off cannon to provide cover for key paths of ingress for attacking force. Such as bridge or causeway, fortress gates , breeches etc. Was proposed/ maybe used in Russo Japanese war with gun cotton and electric detonator. The tube blew apart but the shrapnel balls flew out the unsealed end of the pipe.
3d printed firearms are legal even here in California, you just need to give it a State-registered serial on a metal plate, it's like a $20 filing fee plus $5 per serial.
Compared to what some youtubers who are into chemistry or lasers produce. I'd say you can be pretty relaxed. If we're talking about regulations and their control.
So with the STL files if I happen to own a registered RPG-2 could I pay you for the STL files and sign a NDA that would prevent me from redistributing it?
Alright, you mentioned AZAO, and I know about the use of black powder having exemptions. I’m hoping you can talk more about the use of black powder or smokeless powder as a propellant, like for a mortar or RPG round to propel (move) it, and when or if that becomes a DD. For example, AZAO Inc. FAQ page states, “All BINARY frag/ NFDD hand grenades, HE 40mm & HE RPG rounds with over 1/4oz of explosive material require registration, but do NOT require explosive licensing/storage if you add the explosive mix to the grenades on the day of use on private property.” And also states “Once the exempted materials are put into NON "small-arms use" (like in a big ol' 40mm round), they now lose their exemption and are considered explosive materials again.”
I really love when you talk in German or throw in a word or two. Would be nice having a whole video in German but it would probably do pretty bad on TH-cam 😂 Greetings from Germany
I would love to see a video on if it's possible to turn 10mm Liberty Civil Defense ammo into exploding ammo by filling the hollow with a binary compound then capping it with some solder. They have a rated velocity of 2,400 fps, so should explode on impact without the need for a fuse or primer in the tip. Maybe add some zirconium powder for an incendiary effect.
Has anyone ever done anything to your knowledge with those golf ball mortars where someone has made an actual mortar round (sort of like your Colonial era iron British grenade)? I've been told you can, I know even though I have a golf ball mortar, I have no interest in finding out with my own, not knowing all the regs involved.
Use the 3D printer to make a model of a metal part, then make a mold around that. Remove the plastic part, and fill with molten steel. Repeat for each part and assemble. As long as a licensed FFL manufactures it, and registers the gun with the ATF... should be legal. It's just a different type of manufacturing process. You could also use a 3D laser image scanner to upload an already existing weapon part into 3D print software, to make modifications, or to do replicas of rare weapons.
