Dropping prayer down a level because they made the bone offerings more streamlined and less annoying, while putting fishing in s tier because of cut eat decant barblore... Is some of the wackiest shit I've ever seen lmao
construction minigame where you take part in making whole buildings for multi would be nice. mahogany doesnt have the long-term social aspect to keep you invested hoping they do similar things like GoTR for herb and fletching at some point. bank skills are just not interesting
Magic is the best skill because it has the most utility. You get teleports, you get high DPS, you get Ice Barrage for PvP, Lunar spellbook allows you to use it for skilling, and it's the best combat skill to max because magic defence scales with level.
Box, we love you, but this vid is basicly a proof on why a 200m all player like you has some, lets call it "niche" opinions on things... You probably do have to most comprehensive understanding of the skills, but compared to the average player its a completely different experience.
i find these skill rankings always weird. are we suggesting how useful the skill is for the game and your character? or how enjoyable it is to train? Because to me most production skills fall into trash tier due to this. they're just boring bankstanding loops with nothing exciting or interesting about them. Gatherers atleast have tick manipulation, skilling bosses, varied methods etc. Herblore is make potion, doesn't matter what potion its all just make potion. Smithing has blast furnace and giants foundry, so good skilling loop mixups. Slayer gaps everything. Agility at the top is wrong to me, as it suffers from "pre 92 agility" problems. Sepulchre is amazing content, but it only comes to its full enjoyability at 92+, so agility kinda sucks 1-92 as its all just boring rooftops. Your angle being 200m all makes you miss these points as you trained at 99 for these skills like 15x more than you did at 1-99. I think prayer is more interesting than given here too, with the variety of methods, the usefulness to account no matter game mode etc. You can introduce risk at WIldy, EHP with runners, alternate methods with ensouled heads, passive XP etc. Idk i feel these lists are mostly a meme so not gonna talk too much on it, but defining what you are ranking them on (account usefulness, or skilling enjoyability) is useful to me. Cos some of these skills are dead-useless to mains as everything is tradeable so its just a requirement as a means to an end thing.
Unironically agree with most of these if you're considering post 99 -- but up to 99 I would change some things around. RCing, WC, Hunter S-tier, Agility B tier, Fishing A tier. And I'd move farming up because I really liked doing tithe farm, it was meditative to do efficiently
They should add a skill called tier listing where you have to make tier lists and you recieve exp whenever someone agrees with your tier list. At level 99 the skillcape perk lets you bump someone else's tier list rankings 5 times a day so you get to actively sabotage or save their xp rates
Awesome tier list. I'd agree with most of those. Just a side note, you've been a big inspiration for me to take the game more seriously, particularly skilling. I'm just closing in on 1b total XP and I'm so excited to go even beyond that. 4.6b seems so wild. Thanks for the content and the motivation.
I agree with others. This only makes sense if you are doing the most efficient method. plenty of skills are way more enjoyable to train without nonsense EHP methods
I feel like magic should be s tier, yeah you can zero time it but it has infinite utility and barely any spells are dead content throughout the lifetime of an account, and there's so many different ways to zero time it alongside one or even more than one other skill like how I've seen people use the Bake Pie spell to train cooking while running Hallowed Sepulchre, I've seen people use Plank Make which I'm not sure is really viable but people do it, and with activities like Stealing Artifacts you have a lot of options I think. On top of that you have Thrall spells and Offering spells that overlap slayer with prayer, it just allows so much interaction and adds a lot more fun to playing the game in general in my opinion
RC in S tier, my liege. I really think too many players give this skill a bad rep. I just love how this skill is integrated with teleport unlocks and agility, unlocking faster and faster routes. Imo the true blood altar is a work of art in that sense. While I like GotR, I didn't like how many runes it brought into the game. I'd much rather have them offer Runic Essences (Blood Essence but for other runes) instead of rune drops from the rewards guardian, incentivising more runecrafting. The Scar Essence Mine is a stain on the skill tho. It was supposed to fix shopscape for runes yet shopscape still exists and Im still competing for runes regularly. What also annoys me is that the reward for it, the extracts, just do the same as blood essence but better. They couldve expanded on this item thats already in the game, but they didnt.
thanks for the video and solid views on the skilling tier list, i do think it's largely down to preference so it's hard to make an accurate tier list. as you are the master of alting please could we have a 2024 tier list of money making methods to do on alts?
title says true and real so its actually the most accurate tier list. alt tier list is less interesting than u think, theres like 4 different methods you actually consider, rest are make believe wiki methods
Im curious what changes to each skill (at max efficiency) would make you bump them up or down. High click intensity and variety seem key, what else or what goes wrong?
For me it's: A: slayer, attack, strength, defence, hitpoints, ranged and magic because this is the actual game. This is fun. B: hunter, farming, fletching, cooking and prayer. Those were either fun to train or not click intensive and/or super fast. C: smithing, woodcutting, mining, fishing, crafting. Those are the slow but relaxed afk skills. D: construction, thieving, herblore, firemaking. Click intensive but rather fast. E: agility and runecrafting. Those are absolute aids. Super click intensive and a never ending grind.
I love fletching man. I feel like I need to white knight it from all the fletching haters. I love the fact that it essentially enhances many other methods, you can do it essentially 0 time, it's amazing. Herbiboar or sepulchre by themselves? Neat. Add fletching? Ticky clicky cool and based. From an iron's perspective it also has actual uses, dragon arrows are the best ammo and you need to make it yourself. If you save dragon arrows then you use amethyst and you make them yourself. Ruby bolts are a staple of PvM and you make them yourself. I love fletching man it really feathers my shaft
I've been loving these videos you've been coming out with recently discussing some changes that OSRS could do with some skills. Your slayer video was awesome! But I will say that I didn't like this video at all. This felt very "I like training this so this gets rated higher." Your other videos had so much more reasoning behind your opinions. Plus I feel as though you're only taking into account the people who want to go for the 200m in skills. The average player has no intention of ever getting 200m in any skill. Most people find just getting to 99 being taxing enough. So to base the usefulness and enjoyment of the skills on getting something to 200m just doesn't seem fair to the skills at all.
As other have mentioned, I think a lot of people are going to find it hard to agree with you because your criteria for what makes a skill good differ significantly from most players. Entertaining either way, definitely interesting to see your viewpoint on the skills!
As someone who thinks 200M all sounds like a fate worse than death... this was an absolute fever dream to watch!

This list is unhinged and out for blood.
This is the skilling version of a Jeffery Dahmer manifesto.

Correct. That's because this is a factual tier list. Why would it include incorrect skilling methods?

Fletching in its own tier based af
Putting agility and runecrafting in S tier is basically intentionally trolling for engagement. Low tier bait

A: farm, pray, smithing, herblore, crafting, construction, firemaking

C: slay, hunter
D: wc, fish
