Good morning guys ! I really liked that rig, great tour. I’m not sure if I’ve ever seen windshield wipers on the top portion of the windshield before 🤷🏻‍♂️ What was that “monitor “ that was mounted on the windshield ? Overall the rig seemed solid and the quality seemed much better than on some others too. Great review, watch out Matt 🤣😂🤣

Hi George! Joel is very particular about the windshield wipers! He prefers the bus style side to side ones. That monitor is the lane keep/collision control system. It was a decent rig for sure! A few things I’d change for ergonomics but overall not bad. We like that we don’t get paid to do reviews so we can give our honest opinions 🙈

Overall, appears to be much nicer rig than a couple of the ones you've recently reviewed. But too dark.
That dash does need a few changes and I strongly agree on the shortcomings at the front passenger's location. The pillar is just too wide and blocks too much, the absence of arm rest and narrow shelf due to door, and that front entry in front of passenger is a deal breaker for me. Ingress & egress should not be hampered by a retractable foot shelf, nor shoes or anything else left on the steps, nor the passenger's legs and feet when another person is using the steps. Too easy for items to fall into that abyss as the coach is moving. An inconvenience and nuisance if not potentially unsafe to recover while coach is underway. Much prefer navigator's seat being it's own defined and serviceable space with the main entry door located elsewhere.
Thank-you for the technical input on the detrimental effects of short run cycles to a diesel. I didn't know that. Of course I've heard the maintenance upkeep was higher than gas but diesel has some advantages in power, better ride than F53 stock suspensions (even those F53 stock suspensions that have aftermarket improvements) and quieter rides. But Liquid Springs on a gasser makes a big improvement in ride and ride-induced sound/noise and maybe there is a proven method to trapping most of the gasser engine's roar.
The other diesel advantages (power, brakes, etc) are subject to compromise and dealing with reality.

I agree, overall pretty nice but too dark… at least for my preference! The pillars are such a tricky thing because everyone’s perspectives will be a little bit different. A big safety hazard with the door way being designed the way it is for sure! Trying to recover anything while driving is dicey if you have to get up to do it! There are definitely pros and cons to both. We think we’ve got a pretty good medium with Balae, gasser, f53 and liquid springs!

Do RV's vary much by how much their engine systems pollute the atmosphere?

This is an interesting question. Technically speaking, all gas motorhomes pollute about the same and the diesels often use the larger 6.7L or 8.9L Cummins. Obviously, the 8.9L engine is going to pollute more per minute while idling, of course, and historically diesels have been SIGNIFICANTLY worse than gasoline engines at polluting. Not just from the CO2 emissions, but from the NO2 and other particulate matter that is released from the tailpipe that hangs in the air. However, the fascinating thing about the latest motors is that they have DEF/DPF systems that should reduce that by 85-95%, turning the NO2 into hydrogen and oxygen. The issue now is that it's so insanely difficult to compare apples to apples for specific emissions rates that it's easy to think that the diesel would be the cleaner alternative, but there is still particulate matter being released that doesn't exist (supposedly) from a gasoline engine. Granted, the other interesting thing is that there is pollution from tires, brakes and other wear parts, more weight being more pollution, as well as potential pollution from the diesel pusher's larger oil requirement during changes (albeit less frequent). So generally speaking, I'm inclined to believe that a newer diesel pusher SHOULD be a bit more friendly at the tail pipe, I can't back that up with specific stats. Lithium-electric motorhomes would be even worse for the environment, especially given that the vast majority of folks would never see the mileage on them that they would require in order to cross over into more environmentally friendly, so we'll have to see what other technologies come out. Hydrogen seems promising, as well as other battery technologies with renewable sources of materials. We shall see!

That’s definitely a bonus!! Ultimately it came down to style, options and floor plans for us when deciding even between the Fleetwood and the Holiday Rambler!
