Nate Smith from Enoch Magazine sits down with Cory Brandan, Lead singer of Norma Jean and askes him his views on God, Homelessness, Gas Prices and the New Album "The Anti Mother."
Wow, a lot more respect for Cory, as if that were possible. I think he is so talented and I love Norma Jean. I had no idea he was a single dad or that his faith started at an early age. Not that it matters, but it just adds a lot of foundation for my respect for him as an artist as well as a fellow christian.
I forgot how religious the MySpace scene was. So many bands slapped “Christian” in their genre riding the Unederoath, Norma Jean train. I miss The Chariot. :(
Trying to find "safety last" and i came across this. I was fresh out of high school in 08. Im fuckin 30 years old now and Corey is damn near 50. Time flies.
actually that summer there were quite a few ands that had to drop off warped tour because gas prices were so high. in fact they were over 4 bucks a gallon so the question made sense
funny you say that but most bands get sick of talking about their music because they are asked the same questions every day of their lives. A lot of bands have thanked us for changing up the mix of questions
@GEES44DC That's a pretty bold statement chief. Jesus turned water into wine, and scripture doesn't condemn alchohol, it condemns drunkeness. Smoking has nothing to do with Christianity...and swearing could be something he is stuggling with or maybe he doesn't agree that swearing is wrong at all. I'm not defending those things, but I would be careful about judging people or assuming they aren't a Christian.
@CooperLee But the same could be said of athiests. They completly dismiss anything that doesnt fit into their view of how the earth was created and amplify anything that does. I'm not christian, but if you watch Ben stein's Expelled No intelligence allowed. It's about how Intelligent design is not allowed as a subject or even to be mention in academia.
I love hearing stories about people's spiritual journies. corey seemed a little...less than enthusiastic about this interview though; maybe he was just tired...
I love how Christians COMPLETELY dismiss anything that doesn't fit into their view of Christianity, and amplify anything that does, it's SO basic. HUmans can't even begin to understand how complex all the inter-dimensional wavelengths are in existence, so how DARE people suggest that one of our conceptions of 'religion' is true. It's SO SO basic. Have faith, fine, but don't contort your basic minds to a regulated sect like Christianity, Scientology, Islam, it's all nonsense. BYE.

Enoch Magazine
thanks for the post! keep em coming!
Seems like a decent guy. God bless him.
Awesome questions man, keep doing what you're doing.
"What is your perception of Jesus"
"What do you think about homelessness, you know?"
LMFAO
Then the gas prices 🤣
Then the gas prices 🤣
When I was 16 this dude was a legend to me. Now I'm a single dad trying to do music and I Still look up to him to this day.
@Orphan Twin I'm hitting you up now. I'm not a single father, but im trying to make this music thing happen again.
I forgot how religious the MySpace scene was. So many bands slapped “Christian” in their genre riding the Unederoath, Norma Jean train. I miss The Chariot. :(
I don't think they were really practicing Christians though. Under oath and norma means looked serious. Which other bands were genuine?
whys everyone hating on the interviewer? I don't think the questions are bad...
The architects out of Kansas City is the opener band and that was one of their songs

Does Cory kinda Look like Jim Halpert? (just saying)
What a better question than that. It gives a person a chance to say their views on religion and what they thank of jesus
that was interesting
i saw in the related videos list and said out loud
hehe i interviewed you :DD
cheezburgerluver what?

Quite a strange string of questions...
Rest In Peace to The Higher
The unfortunate lead singer of As I Lay Dying paying someone to kill his wife. Though no one knew that was gonna happen at the time of this video. 😔
And what would some of those questions be?

Yeah, that's a great documentary. I loved at the end when he asked the scientist to explain how the world was created.
@braden21 It's a very good question for a christian band........Or a band that apperently has alot of fans confused about the band's religion.
Oh wow, I know two of the guys at :50
I love hearing stories about people's spiritual journies.
corey seemed a little...less than enthusiastic about this interview though; maybe he was just tired...
@xinic5 Yes, thanks for correcting me, that's exactly what I meant - I misspoke :)
@CoreyG852 I know, he's got an awesome mohawk.
Hahaha this guys questions

What a silly rant. Lol 😂
Woa, cory has kids? Thats crazy lol.
@xinic5 Well I hope not, but who knows.
@Wilixer Or he wants to shy way from christianity out of shame.
@PathToTake You mean what a massive mohawk this interviewer has.
hahahaa!
