Hunter if you could NOT DROP ALL THE ORBS IN FRONT OF ROBOT GULP DURING MY FIGHT I WOULD APPRECIATE THAT. WHOSE SIDE IS HE ON

Dude fucking seriously I was screaming this the entire time! And actually as I've gone through the game I've grown to hate hunter the most out of any character in the game. *Put on game conspiracy theory hat.
Take a good look at hunter as you go through the game He's athletic, he has tools such as a lightning bow, and winged flying machine like clearly he's capable of combating ripto but chooses not to. Even when his entire world is at threat of being taken over by an all powerful dictator. And then to add insult to injury, here he drops the power ups right in front of ripto. He's definitely in league with ripto.
He even keeps orbs in normal levels away from you until you beat him!

Plot twist: Hunter is the ultimate bad guy pulling all the strings in the Spyro canon, just as Jar Jar Binx is to Star Wars.
Ripto's "WHAT?!" everytime you take the power orb from in front of the robo Gulp is priceless!

The camera and changing controls are so goddamn awful in this.
I like the original better because seeing Ripto actually die slowly in lava in front of me satisfied me. All the work I put in led up to that moment
I played a little of each game when I was a child because of the demos on the old Crash games. So I snagged the Reignited Trilogy this summer, and it's been incredible. Namely the fight against Ripto. It's so much fun. I see why this is such a classic. Good design and atmosphere too in the last fight, especially with the platform falling into lava.
Everyone should buy this trilogy.
I think Ripto is the best final boss of the trilogy.
When I was playing this level the game glitched and I had to fight 2 riptos at the same time

How was he easier than Gulp? Gulp is a mindless bull mutant, Ripto is a lizard wizard who apparently has skills in robotics.
Quite honestly, I think that people just feel like Gulp is tougher because he's significantly harder than the first boss you fight in the game, Crush. But I have personally always found Ripto to be harder because the fight is much more long and drawn out, and he can be difficult to hit during his first phase as well. The flying phase at the end is also pretty difficult in my opinion, both because you have to hit Ripto and not the pterodactyl robot he's flying on to actually damage him, but also because he can sometimes fly behind the castle where you cannot hit him
@@matthewkuscienko4616 Gulp is way harder to me and it has nothing to do with Crush being a cakewalk. The tracking on Gulp's laser balls and their hitbox is absolutely ridiculous. Couple that with the fact that the bombs and barrels you have to hit him with can miss if you're not dead-on with aim and you have one annoying boss fight. Because of this, the skill point for Gulp is easily the worst in the entire trilogy. My inflated playtime for Spyro 2 is purely because of trying to get that skill point.
By comparison, Ripto is a minor annoyance. The only phase I struggled with was his second phase on Mecha-Gulp because his fireballs track Spyro way better.
This is a great example of a final boss (and the only really good one in the trilogy imo), you use most of all the super abilities you learned up to this point, Ripto can even use them against you. And yes, it is annoying that Hunter drops them near Ripto, but I feel like it’s a good thing because it makes the fight more challenging. But you use super flame, supercharge, even the super fly at the end and that weird new lob ability.

I absolutely loved this boss as a kid, I have beaten it now in the reignited trilogy and oh my! My favorite boss! The first two phases of Ripto are amazing, what I don't like is the phase with flying! Spyro 2 is the best game FOREVER!
I actually think the flying part was the best part of the fight (but I kind understand why you say that, the flying controls were nerfed in Reignited). This is a great example of a good final boss.

IMHO, I think the Ripto and Sorceress from the original PlayStation games were more evil than the ones I’m seeing here in the reignited trilogy.

Originally we saw Ripto slowly sink into the lava. Dang modern day censorship changes.
Maybe it's not that; we still see Sorceress (what name is that even?) slowly sinking in lava, and even worse, in acid later on. So maybe Ripto splashing into lava was a stylistic choice.

@@DeathofInk There's no "possibly" about it. The implication of him sinking into lava was that he died. Since he didn't and he goes on to appear in 4 other games afterwards, portraying him sinking into lava can only be explained as a stylistic choice.
Too bad you don't get to see Ripto slowly sink into lava as he did in the original. That was badass

Funniest thing too is that he doesn't die, not just because it's a kids game, but because in the original, if you 100% the game, it shows you a collection of secret materials. One of the pictures shows Ripto at the Summer Forest being caught by the dragons and kept as a chew toy or something. Some people put two and two together, and it turns out Zoe indirectly saved his life by zapping him with her wand as she regularly does with Spyro. Dude got sent all the way back to the beginning lol.

Now this is a awesome final boss. Great theme and a unique mechanic with the orbs giving you a power attack to hurt each other. Then we have the final bit with the flying battle.

TCONicon that was Year Of the dragon. And it was with the sorceress. And that’s if you even get there, since you constantly lose eggs, and you often go to places that you’re not trying to go, and the constant crashing. I don’t pirate games because it’s illegal

I remember completing Ripto's defeat.
Do the three games in each of the Spyro and Crash Bandicoot remastered trilogies share a common credit sequence for each trilogy? I was surprised to see the Spyro Reignited title card at the top of the credits, but nothing indicated it was specific to Ripto’s Rage.
I don't have the Spyro trilogy yet as I do not have a PS4 I was never able to defeat Ripto on the PS1 version
0:21 Elora talks quite carefree about Ripto's demise at the hands of Spyro. I guess nobody in Spyro cares about no kill rule towards maniacal threats. Spyro was even sure that villains were dead until they turned out to be alive to threaten him another day.

Ripto didn't die. He showed up for 4 more games before they hit a reboot for Spyro.

This was surprisingly easy, I had actually just had a hell of a struggle with the second boss so I was expecting something even worse here. I didn’t even wanna take on Ripto before I did the other levels but as I was walking towards the entrance to obtain the gems there I automatically entered 😒
