holy shit this brought back some memories and Kevin's voice is actually better than when they debuted..so awesome he was able to preserve his voice like he did..wow
WOW!!! I´ve been a huge fan of Candlebox and Kevin Martins voice since I can remember, and I don't remember what day it was, not even the year, but I still remember clearly the moment when I heard them for thr first time and I fell in love with their music!
its so good to see that ONE, lead singer of that era, SOMEHOW escaped the "lead singers" disease,, Mr. Martin obviously tried to channel the PASSION FOR MUSIC IN general that his friend Andrew Wood, Had! what a tribute, what passion, & to see that he's pretty much still got it 20+ years later!!! WOW!!!
I just went to one of their concerts last year 2019 and let me tell you, they still have it. It is now one of my husband and my favorite memories, standing there swaying and singing along. Got the goosebumps just listening and recalling it.
WOW Those vocals are killer!!! The guitar solo in the original version is still in my top 2 (it's really number 1 though) solos of all time. I learned and still play it the best I can to this day! What a great song and once I found out what it was about (years ago) it truly hit home.
Talent that was carefully placed on this soul. He carries it with grace and elegance. Like an eagle that soars while the wind brushes through its face as if it will never land.
My baby brother, Luke died on 4/4/14. This Tuesday is the 3 year "anniversary." (I don't like using the word anniversary) it's so much more used for celebratory annual dates. Either way, Luke was 27 years old when he passed. He was a Staff Sergeant in the United States Army. He was a veteran of the Iraqi and Afghanistan wars. He spent over 2 years of his young life over seas, in extremely hostile countries. He was involved in daily feild assignments and came home to us, alive but not well. Luke was a changed man. Man...27 years old and his eyes had seen things that no one his age should ever be exposed to. We lost Luke to what is know as PTSD. He died in his bathroom home safe in Pennsylvania. He had just gotten home from his appointment with the VA Hospital (Veteran Affairs). I apologise for rambling on and on but this song.... I am able to feel Luke next to me every time I listen to it. Thank you Candlebox! If you only knew how important you are to us! Thanks again, Ooooooh Raaaaaaah!!
Billy Fischer you know there are different continents next to North America right? Haha. I’m from the Netherlands and I think they only tour through the States Which Saddens me deeply!
Glad I stumbled on this. Great tune, I think he sounds great in it. Takes me back, that alone feels weird to say, didn't this song get released like, 5 years ago. LOL.
This guy sounds awesome for being 20 years older. Of course he's not going to sound like he did when he was twenty-something. This blows away any of the crap that's being growled or autotuned today. Lets see some of today's "singers" duplicate their recordings live, in the morning on a radio show to nothing but acoustic guitars.
Man.. Loves these guys.. This is music..I remember those parties. My friends would beg me to cover this and I would gladly oblige over and over until my voice went out lol.. By far one of my favorite bands to listen to and cover.
EleKtra I certainly am mid forties but I got to see "♪♫ALL THE GOOD BANDS♫♪" ! Including following the Grateful Dead and Sammy Hagar for many years. Life TRULY was a WONDERFUL JOURNEY/JOY RIDE for me in the late 70's, all of the 80's, the entire 90's, and the beginning of this century! I miss having so many great Summer Jams to attend and camp out for the entire weekends! :D I live in Eugene, Oregon area where they have cut out MUCHO LIVE SHOWS. We have to drive 2 1/2 hrs to Portland Oregon or across the River to Washington when we HAVE TO, or MUST see a specific performance. That is why I am so grateful that I had full access in my younger years! ♪♫♪ROCK ON♪♫♪
I lost my sweet baby girl 3 years ago. Tomorrow would be her 25th birthday. I can’t even believe how ripped up I am. It’s so awful. I have to turn this song off. Her mom and I loved this song. One of the greatest songs OF ALL TIME!
I think really what makes the song great in the '80s version you really get the sense of loss and the vocals are really sharp and jagged Raw and the lyrics are incredible
Supe version!. My wife and I loved Candlebox. She passed away 2 years ago>Hoping I can see them live
20 years later and that dude still has a set of pipes that kick ass
Just saw him last month. He hasn't lost a thing. He's still hitting ALL of those high notes. It was pretty damn impressive.
Wow. Thank you. My wife passed away in 2021. She would have loved this!!
Sorry for your loss Bro
Beyond Amazing the Best....
1991 - 2022

WOW!!! I´ve been a huge fan of Candlebox and Kevin Martins voice since I can remember, and I don't remember what day it was, not even the year, but I still remember clearly the moment when I heard them for thr first time and I fell in love with their music!

Yep, same 1994

+Johnny Ballinger Don't forget Vaden Todd Lewis of The Toadies. He still sounds great too
When the vocals clearly overwhelm the entire band.
Love this fucking song hit me through some tough years after I left New York
Love candlebox ! His voice is amazing!
Great song
I saw these guys at the mad monk in wilmington north Carolina...awesome show.
I just went to one of their concerts last year 2019 and let me tell you, they still have it. It is now one of my husband and my favorite memories, standing there swaying and singing along. Got the goosebumps just listening and recalling it.
That's great!!!. Good music stays in your heart and soul

Without a doubt, one of the best bands ever.

i love this band. so underated
trey burke ♪♫♪AMEN♪♫♪
Very under rated
trey burke I agree! Although this is not my favorite version. There is something to be said about the cadence of popular versions.
I really wish Kev would have a chat with The Soundgarden boys. He's probably the only one that would do justice to C.C.
still a timeless song to this day. thanks for posting
Unreal. New album pls
He def still has it. Has improved in my opinion. Takes me back to a better time... sing it Kevin..
I have seen them many times over the years and they are still amazing.
damn, after all these years, I still have a major crush on Kevin
Talent that was carefully placed on this soul. He carries it with grace and elegance. Like an eagle that soars while the wind brushes through its face as if it will never land.
This rocked back in the day. This is good too
One of my favourite songs
so much haters, i thought this was awesome for an acoustic version of a heavy rock song
people suck because theyre miserable, this rocks i agree
F ck the haters. This is cool
Haters ... hate their selfs when they look at the mirror & hear their self.
This song is ROCK n ROLL.
Just kidding ❤️🤘❤️ the vocals are insane incredible
Just kidding the vocals are insane they're awesome🤘🤘🤘
After all these years he still has it. Saying he's lost it is total BS. Suckers voice is like silk.
I saw them in 2005 and his voice was the best thing I have ever heard, it got better with age
Cuz he didn't use drugs to ruin it
Why always the drug thing they where all great
geeze. that dude can sing
Still sound great. Thank you for the music and the memories guys. ❤✌
Thanks for the upload! It's always great to hear about the all too often forgotten Andrew Wood...

I’m sorry for your loss. That must be awful. Thank you for sharing your story. It is a truly beautiful song and I hope it gives you some comfort.
And why are ruining this video with some story. Freakin annoying
It age’s like fine wine. Atta boy guys.
Kevin Martin is a very nice and humble dude. I was a pleasure to get to meet him.
This was such an awesome video. I got to see them play in Madison, WI like 7 years ago. He still hasn't lost his voice.
ABSOLUTELY beautiful...love love love this song and the acoustic version is the best.
Great singer..... So much power in his voice.... hits every note.... crisp and clean....
Awesome
Always loved this guy's pipes! He still sounds Awesome!
Lost my best friend of 30+ years this past January. Can't hear this song without thinking about him 😢😢
decades later, still has the voice, still can hit the high notes. Excellent version!
I'm still wanting to see them after 20yrs :(
Kristi Wilson there touring right now! playing acoustic in PA and I'm not going to miss it

blah blah blah same thing always. people put more effort in writing this kind of bs than actually looking for new music to enjoy
Scott Weiland did that on Howard Stern. He was an awesome front man.
I do like Candlebox!!!
Actually he sounds a little better than he did back in the day 😂
@@gc8972b That's a full of s*it statement.
It is simply impossible to sing like this . What a fucking band man . Long live !
Of course the original IS WHAT it IS! But this is by far the best live rendition I've seen...Yes...Brilliant! Blessings!
dec.2016 love this song still. love yall guys

Still one of my all time favorite bands. You never hear singers like this anymore.
Man.. Loves these guys.. This is music..I remember those parties. My friends would beg me to cover this and I would gladly oblige over and over until my voice went out lol.. By far one of my favorite bands to listen to and cover.

Best Version yet! Just focussing on the music/song quality and it's just Amazing!
I think Candlebox is so great, what a voice
His voice hasn't change a bit..Always loved this band
Awesome voice Kevin, sounds better than ever. 💖 Candlebox
He's just holding back so that he doesn't overpower the guitars . :)
that's raw and awesome, as authentic as something can be
No words, just awesome!

What great atmosphere in that room...great acoustic jam, great scenery outside.
What I would give to have have been sitting in that studio.
Nice !!!
Very underrated, they just had the misfortune of falling into the Alice in chains, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden and Nirvana era.
They all came from the same area (Seattle)
BEAUTIFUL
No doubt they had a top five album of the 90s.
Facts
This song is so deep. Hits close to home.
Yes, the song DEEPs. But it CUTs DEEP. That's close !
Yes it does :
Best version ever!
