Rewatching a lot of these videos of yours as I start up a new round of load development. Your advice here on how to treat brass and seating force, bushings, mandrels, etc, got me to a mean radius of .1 MOA from a bipod and rear sock on multiple 10 round groups. Looked like the initial target you showed. Groups were in the 1 to 3s but the mean radius in the .1 range. All I did different was used well treated brass only fired from a broken in barrel and using your method for interference. My head spacing is consistent (very) and my primer seating is as well (using your tool), powder change obviously - but for me this was the missing piece. On the AMP Press my average variation was around 3-5 pounds, low SD and an extreme spread of 10. There were a very few (maybe 5 out of 100) that I dont know why were about 20 - pulled those for fouling the barrel and confirming zero. You have some of the most applicable info on here. Thank you!

Great video Greg! I loved seeing the volume of groups.
I also appreciated the message at the end. I have recently begun to post a little on TH-cam and am beginning to get some push back. Yes I fully expect that. Promoting our creator is not always welcomed.

    Two things about this video.
First, thank you for demonstrating that details matter when loading cartridges for precision rifle shooting, in this instance bullet seating force. And, showing an example of how it may have contributed to increased dispersion on target.
Second, bullet seating force only applies to those loading and shooting cartridges for precision rifles. The scripture message is for all people, everywhere, forever.

Greg, So I have watched all of your content. Some multiple times because you provide so much information. Thank you.
I have a problem that I have not been able to overcome. I have been reloading for 3 years. I've been hunting for decades. I like to shoot and have been working on that aspect while learning reloading. The back story...
And, the problem. As an example I just started loading for a 7 PRC. I have an amp press and during seating it maxes out and I have to finish seating on my arbor press. This is not abnormal for the cartridges I load for. I have tried everything except neck turning although I have tried several types and I'm uncomfortable with the results.
So how I ran this load.
    Annealed, Bench Source using Tempilaq.
Sized on Coax with SAC die. .310 Neck/ shoulder.
    .281 expander.
I trimmed to shortest cartridge, chamfer and deburred.
I used a SAC seating die.
The result is I ran past the threshold for the AMP and had to finish with my arbor.
All of my other process seem okay but obviously I'm doing something wrong. I have done way to many things to name them all here. I'd take any advice you might give me as I am truly out of ideas on my own.
I really do appreciate what you do and the service you provide to all of us out here. I hope to someday be capable of at the least some level of competently reloading. My lack of understanding the details are holding me back for now but will change over time.
    Thank you again.

Enjoyed the live stream and this follow up video. I use FORESTER COAX, Redding bushing dies, size down 6 th smaller than bullet diameter , graphite the inside of the necks, and 21st century mandrels and bring it back up to 4thou neck interference. Always use my AMP, trim with my Henderson gen3, and use a V4 to dispense the powder…system is solid, defiance and manners lrh and Leupold or NF scopes, clean after each 50rd session …and yet I get “fliers” w/in 5-7 shots. What do you think is causing this?

    • @primalrights
      @primalrights  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

I would need to know much more to help effectively. Could be many things causing that. The separate mandrel op, the henderson trimmer pilot, the redding dies, the manual graphite op, the ignition system in the defiance (if no one has tuned your ignition), the bedding or lack thereof in the LRH stock, etc. I mean without having some very detailed conversations about everything, it's nearly impossible to narrow down a likely variable and it certainly can not be effectively done via youtube comments. You'll have to become an apprentice member of this channel, and give me a call... then we can likely get some likely suspects identified. Just trying to quantify what you mean by "flyer" can take a fair bit to hash out.

How much does each thou of neck interference transfer into pounds of seating force, ex. 2 though=50lb… and so on
