Try upgrading Google Play services (three words, with spaces between them) variant for Android KitKat 4.1 from whatever you have now to version 20.1.04 (available on apkmirror.com). It should make a huge difference on your MXQ. The buttons on my OEM MXQ remote, on-screen Android AOSP keyboard, and external mini keyboard all work normally since I've upgraded to 20.1.04, same as when I'm using them on any other box. Whatever the driver issues were, I believe the Google Play services developers have fixed it. Please let us know how you make out...

I am stuck on just one proceedure.
I mistakingly installed a version of Google Play services that is too new.
My mxq box is version 5.1.1 and Google Play services I install say you need to pee 6.0. I have not been able to install the version I need because I cannot get rid of the version of Play services that is now installed. When I run the install of the version I need, it says not installed after the process. How can I get around this please?

@@m.crawford7227 To reset Google Play services to the factory installed version, go to: Settings/Apps/System Apps/Google Play services/Uninstall updates. As of today, May 7, 2020, the latest (no dpi) version for Android 5.0+ (according to apkmirror) is Google Play services 20.15.16 (020300-309763488) (020300). If I had a TV box with Android 5.1.1, that's the update I'd be trying to install today.

Extremely helpful video im about to attempt it i got off to a bad start when i put the usb in the mxq box its like its hidden i cant locate what it would be under id imagine files but usb drive is not there ill get there or mr hammer is coming out thanks for the info Lawrence.
I doubt that there's anything wrong with the USB function on your MBOX. Modern USB drives (32GB or greater) use the exFAT file system which is not recognized by Android OS. To use them on an MBOX you have to reformat them (using a Windows computer) to either FAT32 (preferred) or NTFS. Either that, or just try an older, smaller (512MB - 4GB) USB drive and you should be fine. Thanks for asking!

Fall, 2019 Update: The developers of Movie Play Red / Movie Box Red have replaced it with a new app titled Movies Online HD. The old app, no longer works (on any box). To get Movies Online HD to work on my MXQ (your box may be different) I had to turn off Parallel Sources Loading in Settings. The box may be slow, but it still works!

@@Luisppk2812 I have no experience with that smart projector, but assuming you are able to install and uninstall apps on it, why not try updating Google Play services? It should make a big difference. If it doesn't, you can always uninstall it, returning the projector to its factory installed version. Download the latest version of Google Play services for Android 4.4.2 from apkmirror.com. Gracias Google!

What do i do if my apps keep crashing, android keeps freezing, also sometimes when android freezes the box starts making horrible sounds on TV speakers and the image gets all fuzzy (like an old TV) MXQ 4.4.2.
That's exactly how my MXQ Pro 4K with H234_V2.08 motherboard and
Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow behaved prior to the make over. So, regardless which malfunctioning box someone might have, let's review the MBOX Frustrated User Guide upgrade procedure.
1. Use Settings/Apps to uninstall each and every one of the
malfunctioning apps. If the app can be removed, get rid of it. Don't be afraid. You're not going to harm anything. Android OS will not let you remove essential system apps.
2. Delete all non-essential downloads, pictures, movies, ads,
etc. Free up as much storage space on the eMMC as possible.
3. Update Google Play services. As of April 3, 2020, the latest
available versions start with 20.12, but new versions are released weekly. So, for someone reading this much later, don't be surprised if the current version numbers are much higher than that.
4. Install the latest available Google App (which is different
from Google Play services) and get yourself a gyroscopic, air mouse remote control with built-in microphone. These typically cost $7 to $10 with free shipping and are worth every penny.
5. Take note of the launchers and apps shown in various episodes
of MBOX Frustrated User Guide. Those apps work. Install just one or two of them (as recommended for your box and your version of Android OS). Watch what happens.
Remember, streaming apps need room to work. As shown at the beginning of MXQ Upgrade Secrets, Part 2, if you fail to cede them that room, if you fill the eMMC with junk, nothing is going work, especially on MXQ models with limited storage.
Have faith in the procedure, Filip. After you apply it, your box will be much improved.
My MXQ box already has Google Play Services (GPS) V19.6.29 (100400-278422107) which apkpure says requires Android 9.0+ even though my box is running 4.4.2. Will having this version (V19.6.29) of GPS make my box work less since it's not compatible with the Android version my box has, or should I keep the V19.6.29 of GPS on my box?
The fact that GPS V19.6.29 installed successfully on your MXQ proves that it is compatible. How well it's going to work is another matter. Personally, I'd run with it and see what happens. My MXQ (obviously not the same as yours) refuses to update past GPS V15.0.90 (000300-231259764)
. That's the version Google recommends for KitKat and you can always revert to it if necessary. Hopefully, that won't be the case. Hopefully, you'll be able to take your MXQ to a much higher level than the one shown in the video. Thank you for the feedback!
But.... i am unable too go into security settings to enable unknown sources ... it keeps backing out to the home screen
Have you tried resetting the box to factory defaults (toothpick method)? If it used to work but doesn't now, that should fix it. Otherwise, your box might be rooted. Run rootchecker.apk and kingroot.apk to see if you can correct that. Sorry for the delay in answering. I don't recall ever having received this message. Good luck. Thanks for commenting.
Hi, how can i find out wich Type i have? I will run emuelec on my..."fake" Box. At Boot it Shows amlogic s905 Logo. Than it Shows "mbox" than Box Starts. On the Box itself stand "M9+" and in the settings the Box is named "mxq pro" i can't find the right "dtb" to Start from the sd card.
Start here: github.com/AlexELEC/S905-trees A lot of trial and error is involved. You may have to image quite a few SD cards to find something that will work with your S905 box. Those that don't work on your box will hang on the S905 logo, so don't get discouraged when that happens. Eventually, you should find one that's going to work. Even then, MXQ Pro with S905 should be able to run Kodi 18.5 natively, so I'm not sure there's a whole lot to be gained by this. Have you watched "MXQ Pro Upgrade Secrets?" That procedure involves a lot less work and it yields amazing results!
I got everything on my USB like you recommended but my MXQ fails to allow me to access it.
Two things: 1. The USB drive has to be formatted FAT32 (preferably) or NTFS. New (large capacity) USB drives are generally formatted exFAT at the factory and have to be reformatted before you can use them on an MBOX. MAC OS file formats don't work either and neither do any of the Linux file formats. 2. Before you retry, please watch MXQ Spring 2021 Upgrade Secrets at th-cam.com/video/-G__ZXVtQik/w-d-xo.html for the latest info. Version numbers have changed. One app changed its name. Other apps have shut down. New apps have since replaced them. Thanks for commenting. That's how we help each other!

No problem. Find what you're looking for at apkmirror.com and/or at any other online app provider. New versions have been coming out almost weekly. My MXQ with Android 4.4.2, last updated April, 2020, currently has Google Play Services 20.06.15 (000300-294478903). Expect to find a no dpi version for KitKat even newer than that.

Old boxes don't have enough memory and don't have nearly enough internal storage for the latest versions of Android. But you can do this: th-cam.com/video/hnCAGyvCEgs/w-d-xo.html MXQ Fall 2023 Upgrade Secrets, with GREAT results. Just note that since MXQ Fall 2023 Upgrade Secrets was published, SkyTube split into 3 forks. The version to download now (3/15/2024) for use with Android 4.4.2 is called SkyTube Legacy (not SkyTube Extra). SmartTube has also auto updated, several times, since MXQ Fall 2023 Upgrade Secrets was published. Download the latest version, not the one shown in the video, directly from smarttubenext.org/ I've also added the Via browser to my MXQ. Get the latest directly from the publisher at viayoo.com/en/ Via is not perfect on Android 4.4.2, but it sure beats not having any browser. Note that SkyTube, SmartTube and Via are all up-to-date (2024) apps, not old abandoned apps that don't work anymore. Then there's www.dailymotion.com/video/x8b1s73, MXQ Spring 2022 Upgrade Review. The IPTV instructions given there are still 100% accurate. Follow them and you can watch almost every channel, everywhere, in every language, from all around, even on an old box with Android 4.4.2. The Part 3 instructions are still 100% accurate except the download location has changed. How do you download all this on the mxq box if you're doing everything from laptop?
That's a very good question, and it's answered starting about 8 minutes, 15 seconds into the video. Please rewatch starting from there. Two important things I forgot to mention in this video: 1. The USB drive has to be formatted FAT16, FAT32, or NTFS. FAT32 is preferred. exFAT will not be recognized by KitKat., nor will any Apple/Mac OS file system. 2. Virtually any USB drive will work, even antique 256 MB (1/4 GB) and/or 512 MB (1/2 GB) models. You don't need to run out and buy a new USB drive. Also, this video is almost a year old. Much newer versions of Google Play services and Google.apk for Android KitKat 4.4.2 are available right now. Find the latest at apkmirror,com. And, please substitute MoviesTime v10.6.5 and TheatrePlus v1.14 [Mobile] for MorphTV and MoviePlayRed. Note that Mobdro is up to v2.1.70. MoviesTime, TheatrePlus and Mobdro are the top three streaming apps for MXQ right now (April, 2020). MXQ Upgrade Secrets Part 2 lists even more apps that work on MXQ. How do i bypass the no command when i bring up android system recovery on my MXq
There's no need to enter Android system recovery to install any of the updates shown in this or any other MBOX Frustrated User Guide episode. If you're there, it's because you're following some other procedure, not this one.
Sorry actually my box is mxq 4k pro still can I download those apps on that box. Another problem I have my mobile is lenova. Only cast is written when I open the cast it is showing super cast. And the point is when I went to mxq box and try to open it is showing. QR. Scan and download. Since on crt tv I can scan. Pls is the any option. Or there is a better apps to install
For helpful info on MXQ Pro 4K models, please watch "MXQ Pro MBOX - Upgrade Secrets." MXQ Pro 4K models generally have an S905 processor. Those boxes look the same as MXQs with S805s, but they generally have newer versions of Android OS and very different motherboards.
I deleted google play services when you said to delete all the apps that were playing correctly, I figured I'd delete them all, so can how do I reinstall google play services?

Hi Lawrence!Is it possible to upgrade the Android version itself? I have version 9 and when trying to upgrade the Netflix app it said that it was not compatible my device (an mx q pro 4k, who knows who the Chinese manufacturer is, right?)
To get Netflix working again on Android 9: Disable google play store. Open a browser and go to apkpure.com. Search for "Netflix_v7.51.0 build 16 34782_apkpure.com.xapk" and download it together with the recommended xapk installer. Run the xapk installer as soon as you're prompted to do so. (If you fail to run it immediately, you'll have to open File Browser, navigate to the downloads folder and run it manually from there). Either way, Netflix once again works on Android 9.
And, it is possible to upgrade the Android version itself. You have to install Google.apk and you have to upgrade Google Play services. Watch MXQ Upgrade Secrets Parts 1 and 2 for details. Just make a mental adjustment - Android 9 for Android 4.4.2. The versions you want will be different but the procedure is the same.

1. Find the About menu item in Settings and note the version of Android currently installed on your Megacra T9.
2. If it's Android v4.2.2 download and install an Android v5.1.1 firmware update from here: www.yundootv.com/archives/2514

So, if you're not familiar with Dailymotion, know that instructional videos are muted by default. You have to unmute them using the speaker icon on the taskbar located at the bottom of the video player. Otherwise, there will be no sound. Also, HD Quality is set to 144p by default. To make the video watchable, you have to increase HD Quality to at least 480p using the Settings menu at the top right of the video player. Go figure... At least the videos are not censored. How to hide the clock at the top when theres something that i want to click but it is in the top i dont click it the notification is appeared
Not sure that I understand what's happening, but if you want to hide the tiny clock at the upper right corner of the display and the factory installed launcher does NOT allow you to do that, try another launcher. To turn OFF annoying notifications (all apps or just for one app) go to Settings, Apps, select the offending app, scroll down and uncheck the "notification" permission. Some versions of Android allow you to turn OFF all notifications for all apps in one step. Earlier versions generally do not. You have to turn OFF notifications individually, for each and every app. So it takes a minute or two longer. Good luck! Thanks for commenting. is this device support bluetooth connection ? some tv box introduce by their manufacturer equipped with bluetooth fiture, unfortunately the bluetooth setting have been hide by developer, any advise ?
According to alibaba.com there are hundreds of manufacturers of MXQ TV boxes. Those manufacturers may have all started with the same recipe, but experience shows the boxes they cook up are very different. Which ones have bluetooth hardware on the system board and which ones don't is anybody's guess. My MXQ, the one shown in the video, does not bluetooth hardware. If you think that all your box needs is bluetooth software, search apkpure.com for a "bluetooth" apk, install it, configure it, and see if it works. It certainly won't hurt to try. Just remember, you can't trust advertised specifications, and you can't what programs like aida64 say. They often report that bluetooth is present when in fact, all that's present is bluetooth software, not bluetooth hardware.
@@LawrencePina Thank for your respond Mr. Lawrence, I already try to install some of "bluetooth" apk, and some of this apk could not be installed, already found someone who already succeed to figure and activated the bluetooth on the same device like mine, unfortunately he refuse to share his firmware
Finally took my own advice. Just bought a $2.78 (with free shipping) "BLS-TX3 USB BlueTooth 5.0 Wireless USB Transmitter Adapter 3.5mm AUX Stereo Jack Cable For Headphone Speaker" from AliExpress and tried it on my MXQ. Unbelievable! It works great. Not only that, but it worked right away. No difficulty whatsoever. Turned on my MXQ and tuned into an Internet radio station. Plugged the BT adapter into USB 1 on the MXQ. Observed the adapter's blue LED blinking. Turned on my BT earphones. They paired automatically within 30 seconds. Observed the BT adapter's blue LED now on on solid. Plugged the included 3.5mm audio cable all the way into the BT adapter but only about about 1/2 way into the MXQ's A/V jack (NOT all the way in). Left and right stereo came through the BT earphones loud and clear. Perfect! First time ever on my MXQ that something worked right away. It actually took longer to write this update than it did to get the thing working!
When I try to download kodi 18.5 I am getting the error (There was a problem parsing the package) any help would be much appreciated.
"Problem parsing the package" means the app you're trying to install is not compatible with Android 4.4.2 Kitkat. To run Kodi 18.5 on MXQ you just need to reboot to an alternate OS. Watch Episode 3 of MBOX Frustrated User Guide, titled "Making Do with MXQ," for details. At about 7 minutes, it shows how to Reboot to LibreELEC and run Kodi 17.6 on MXQ. That was then. Today, you'd want to Reboot to AlexELEC and run Kodi 18.5. So, watch "Making Due with MXQ" first, to get an idea of how reboot to alternate OS works, then view the complete AlexELEC/Kodi 18.x FOR MXQ tutorial at: mxqproject.com/mxq-amlogic-s805-kodi-18-2-leia-update-now-possible/

I just paid under $1 for this thing at a thrift store, I figured I could use it for something.
For an idea of what this box can do, please watch "Making Do with MXQ." That episode is pretty much still valid. But, due to world circumstances most of the streaming apps recommended in "MXQ Upgrade Secrets Parts 1 and 2 have stopped working." Don't bother installing them. As of earlier this year, even the official TH-cam app stopped working. So delete all the non-working apps from your box. Update Google Play services and install the Google app. Watch "MXQ Spring 2021 Upgrade Secrets" and with any luck, "MXQ 2022 Update Review," showing how to add 7,000 live TV channels to the box, should be out soon. Mine have the more settings unavailable... or to better say, when I select it the settings app close itself. I can't access that page. Any way to reset this thing? Can't evenfind the hardware reset button. Thanks
Yes, but before you try factory reset, install Google.apk and update Google Play services as shown. Best place to get Google Play services right now is apkmirror.com. These two upgrades may solve your problem.
Lawrence Pina thanks for the answer, but I can't install anything because to install apk I need to check the option to install unsafe apps that is in the advanced settings that I can't open.
Another strange thing is that the playstore is disappeared.
Ps: this box isn't mine, I'm helping a friend that uses it in a seasonal store. Last yeas the box was perfect, now the OS looks broken. (No more custom apps, no more playstore and no more access to advanced settings.

1. Regarding "no Internet connection," do you know if the original firmware was replaced with some alternate version? Usually, alternate firmware doesn't come with drivers for your networking hardware. If that's what happened, have you tried connecting by Ethernet wire? Sometimes only the Wi-Fi driver is missing. If neither Wi-Fi, nor Ethernet/LAN works after installing new firmware, then try to reinstall the original firmware. 2. Regarding "I follow all your tutorial... still isnt work... doesn't open the other apps..." While the instructions given (on how to prepare boxes with Android 4.4.2 for upgrade) in MXQ Upgrade Secrets Parts 1 and 2, are still 100% valid, very few (if any) of the other apps recommended are currently working. Google has even stopped the official TH-cam app from working on Android 4.4.2! So here's what does work: Follow the preparation instructions given in MXQ Spring 2021 Upgrade Secrets. Uninstall all non-working apps. Install the latest GooglePlay services for 4.4.2, the latest Google.apk for 4.4.2, etc. Then, visit www.rapidstreamz.live/ and download RapidStreamz.apk. At this moment, March, 2022, RapidStreamz works perfectly on Android 4.4.2. All of the Internet radio apps shown in MXQ Spring Upgrade Secrets also continue to work perfectly on Android 4.4.2. So does Miracast and IPTV player.
3. For best results (amazing results), please watch dai.ly/k2o5azuTmeQerLwTPFH MXQ Upgrade Secrets Part 3. Two updates: As of today, 3/21/22, the latest version of AE is v3.3.3, and it comes with K v18.9. Due to current world circumstances, the new download location is github.com/AlexELEC/AE-AML/releases/tag/3.3.3, not the page shown in the video. If replacement firmware caused "no Internet connection," your Ethernet/LAN port will work again and even Wi-Fi will work again via cheap USB adapter. You haven't indicated what box you have (make and model), what version of Android is or was on it, what happened just before the problem occurred (Was it updating? Did you try to install different firmware?), or exactly what steps you followed to try and reset the box, but generally speaking, when an OS hangs on the startup logo, it's looking for hardware that doesn't exist. So, either hardware on the motherboard broke, or the new firmware is looking for different hardware (Bluetooth, LAN, Wi-Fi, etc. ) Also, if the factory-installed firmware was auto updating, and the box got shut off before it completed, that could also cause the box to hang on startup. When that happens to a Smart TV, Wi-Fi no longer works, but the TV may (keyword = may) be able to complete its update by connecting it to a LAN using an ethernet cable. That often works, but patience is required. Hope this explanation helps. Thanks for commenting.

By "exact box," do mean that yours has the exact same motherboard markings as mine (S805Q_V2.0), the exact same Wi-Fi chip (SCI S9083C) as mine, and so on? Highly unlikely, but that's the info you're going to need. Take your box apart. It's possible but NOT recommended. Attempting to do so may brick the box. Even when it doesn't, you generally lose WiFi and you may even lose the use of your remote control. That forces you to connect by wire and add a USB keyboard. If you can install Google.apk, Mobdro, Morph TV, and Movies Online HD, it might not be necessary. Otherwise, consider resetting the box to factory defaults then start over from scratch.

How to fix Ota update in order to upgrade my 4.4.2 firm to a higher firmware.
1. You can't fix non-functional OTA update on MXQ because as mentioned in the video, it's a FAKE feature. MXQ was never registered on any update server. Request to update goes nowhere. 2. You may be able to manually update 4.4.2 to higher firmware on MXQ but success is NOT certain. Attempting to do so may brick the box. Even when it doesn't, you may lose your remote control, and you may lose WiFi. Lawrence Pina, I’ll definitely look at this process and see if it’ll work on upgrading my box. They should make this process of upgrading much easier instead of all of this runaround. I find these old boxes are so frustrating to do a simple upgrade.

@@MackMainSupreme Either you're trying to install a version of Google Play services made for a newer version of Android OS (my MXQ has Android 4.4.2) or there's not enough free space on the EMMC to allow its installation. So, the key questions are: 1) What version of Android OS are you trying to update? 2) Is the Google Play services update you downloaded compatible with that version of Android OS? Pointless exercise if it isn't. 3) How much free (storage) space is there on the box? Better have over 3 GB! 4) Has the USB drive you saved the update to been formatted FAT32? Google Play services should be matched to the version of Android OS on your MBOX. If yours has Android 9 or 10, you'd probably (almost certainly) do better with a newer version.

This is an official Google update. Installing it won't hurt your MBOX. If what you have now is substantially older, it should make a big difference.
I have the same box as you but the UI is nothing compared to yours. it is crappy as hell maybe I have the fake one. in Asia they are all over but it is working fine only Google play store won't sign me in.
If by UI, you mean the OEM launcher, the version you got is not important. By the end of MXQ Upgrade Secrets Part 2, you'll have four launchers on the box. You can delete the ones you don't like and/or switch between them at will. The Google play store comment suggests that you have not even finished watching Part 1. Please watch the videos (all of them) to learn what to do.

MXQ with S805 processor and Android 4.4.2 (as shown in this video) is quite limited. MXQ Pro 4K model (like yours) with S905x processor and Android 5?, 6?, 7?, 8?, 9? It depends on the variant. Generally speaking, if the variant is labeled "Requires Android 4+ (or 5+, or 6+, or 7+, or 8+), Target Android 9, 10 or 11, then it will work on Android 8. Generally, the answer would be no. Streaming apps come and go. Developers abandon them and move on to other projects. New streaming apps come on the scene. Constant updates to the new apps stop previous versions from working. Eventually, even the updated replacement apps are abandoned by their developers, and the cycle repeats. So, even if you could find a bundle of all the streaming apps mentioned in this episode, none of them would work. They've all been abandoned. How to copy to the drive
You should download recommended updates and apks using a Windows or Linux computer (not a Mac OS computer) and save directly to a flash drive formatted to FAT32 or NTFS. The latest exFAT format does not work with Android OS!
Arrange the computer and drive, then download the very latest Google Play services (v20.36.14, dated September, 2020) from:

The latest Mobdro (v2.1.94) also works great with Android 4,1+ as does CyroseHD (v1.6.2AF). You'll want both.
It's important to watch "MBOX Frustrated User Guide" from the beginning - all of the episodes. Why? Because if there's not enough Internet bandwidth (Episode 1), your MXQ won't work. If the time is wrong (Episode 2), your MXQ won't work. If you don't remove the junk and replace it with recommended updates, (Episodes 3, 4, 5), your MXQ won't work, and so on...

All they're showing today, 11/14/19, are the latest versions requiring Android 9.0+. No problem, though. There are countless websites offering free app downloads on the Internet. Try the SD card update shown in MXQ Upgrade Secrets Part 3. Booting ELEC OS from SD card works great! Very fast. Can't beat it! The Internet Radio update shown in MBOX Audio Secrets Parts 1 and 2 also works well. These are the best two updates for older MXQ TV boxes with Android 4.4.2 right now. No complaints. But, without ongoing support from Movies Online HD and especially since Mobdro went offline (Feb. 10, 2021) Android 4.4.2 streaming has become quite limited. I'm down to CyroseHD, MoviesTime, and TH-cam... If you want performance, try the SD card update. You'll be amazed!
I have this box given to me and I have spent two days trying to install apps with no luck and then I thought maybe I can get a casting app and chuck my phone at it but no it's getting chucked in the garbage 🗑️
If someone gave that box to me, here's what I would do:
1. I'd uninstall ALL of the non working apps, just as instructed in MXQ Upgrade Secrets parts 1 and 2.
2. I'd update Google Play services. Best place to get it right now is APKMirror.com, not APKPure.com.
3. I'd set up IPTV as shown in th-cam.com/video/tN5vL_Ph3zI/w-d-xo.html MXQ Spring 2022 Upgrade Review, bearing in mind that the 7000+ channels we set up there is an overkill. Just set up those that are in your language and appeal to your interests.
4. I'd at least look at dai.ly/k2o5azuTmeQerLwTPFH
Get both of these upgrades installed, and it'll be pretty hard to find fault with the results, especially when you got the box for nothing. If that's not enough, there are other tips in every episode of MBOX Frustrated User Guide so why not watch them? Good luck! Thanks for commenting.

"There was a problem parsing the package" means that the app you are trying to install requires a newer version of Android than is currently on the box. So, if the app you're trying to install needs Lollipop, but you've only got KitKat, look for an older version of that same app that works on KitKat.

The reason some of the remotes work and dont is the infrared on the front speads out a diffrent pattern not straightforward check multiple remotes with your phone camera it shows the beam whhen you press buttons youl see
I'm sorry to disagree with you, but that's not the reason. The MXQ remotes with malfunctioning TV control buttons won't even go into learning mode. Their microprocessors don't support it.

Not an option for people in countries where tube TVs are still in use. Not an option for people who paid $40 to $50 US for their MXQs and can't afford to replace them. Not an option for people who don't have Amazon accounts. Also not an option for people with Amazon accounts who value their privacy. Otherwise, I do agree with you. Firestick TV is faster. It is cheaper ( I only paid $20 for mine, Thanksgiving week, 2019) and it comes with the best remote in the business. Add the mouse toggle app and there's very little to complain about. Follow the instructions carefully: Update Google Play services, install Goggle.apk (if not already installed), disable Google Play Store, uninstall all non working apps, replace the factory installed launcher with one that actually works (Leanback On Fire and/or ATV Launcher Pro), download your apps directly from the developers whenever possible (otherwise download from apkmirror.com, apk archive.com) and you should be all set. Now the question is, are you prepared to deal with the ever changing world of Android apps, the best of which are here today, gone tomorrow, the rest of which require constant updates? MBOXes are not for everyone. Most people are much better off with FireTV and/or Roku sticks because the associated services (Amazon and Roku) do most of the work for you. Good luck!
