When you said 'New Cat skidder,' I was thinking several hundred hours and wondered about the wear on the tires. With 3400 hours on the machine how many more will you get before she needs tires? I just didn't know about how many hours you could get on a set. I wouldn't worry about reorganizing the rear view if Paul is happy cause he's the man. :) Thanks for answering a non logger's questions.

Couple years ago working in January 7 below zero and the cat 924h wouldn't start opened up panel as the operator was going to change the fuel filters when I saw the emergency shutdown button panel I told the operator to turn on the ignition but do not crank it flipped up covered switch and held switch up ( spring loaded ) then hear electric fuel primer pump running held on for 30 seconds flipped cover down and told him try it fired right up no either used it is there to prime the fuel filters but works nicely in very cold weather to help start em without using either too much electronic and other baloney on em that costs lotsa logs to fix when someone goes nuts with the either trying to start her. Food for thought do I hear an impromptu class coming so everyone knows what the switch is for?
I remember you talking about the bars on the windows. When it snows dose the defroster keep up or are you just driving blind? I think someone IMPORTANT didn't think you worked in the snow. GO FIGURE !!
+That Chipper Guy Should see it on new 545 and 555 models with the ARM seat. No clue when but did see it in press release regarding the ARM seat. It definitely would improve some of the visibility problems vs looking over your shoulder.
Those skidders were too slow before,I saw a brand new 2014 machine run 3 mos.i watched the cat place delucer it to this logger I know well he's since traded his for a 20 John deere.no,I don't know but those cat akidders were a bit slow but they were dependable after 7 8 yrs !! So it's definitely a big upgrade let's see if these new either gears or trains hold long term!
Edit I watched the cat lowboy deliver this skidder brand new after 15 days I remember,a tech with laptop in hand came out and opened the rpm,s on the skidder for its first step he said one month for the next increase he said their was 5 total.no working on these unless you got that program on that laptop I'd guess.no more repairs nowdays on anything light to heavy almost! Wow,I rekkin you adhere to the rules or your dead huh!
that looks like a nice tractor...i like cat stuff it usually is over built to last and that makes a big difference especially in the woods

There is going to be a turnaround seat with joystick steering and pedals forward and rear on certain new models
