@@forestercroatia - You're 100% right. I work in Heavy Industry, as soon as you cut back on maintenance to save that little bit of money, things start breaking, and that usually cost more to tear out, and replace, then maintaining it would have cost in the fist place. Work Safe.
Unfortunately, no amount of maintenance will stop a derailed track. Concept is great, don't get me wrong. It does have it's cons though. Won't disagree about going with tracks. There's a lot of wear going on there. Cheers :)
Yes they are building them and its basically a track jack as us west coasters call them, a little hard on undercarriage but will go almost anywhere a lot of the guys up our way say they use the track jacks to pull wood down to where the rubber tired skidders could get to, because these things will follow leveling bunchers around on the really steep stuff. But are very useful if used in the right spots
@@forestercroatia less wheel slip, less erosion. I see it's potential, grapple needs some kind of positive control, seems like it wants to leak off/lose grip.
I doubt track life is good. It’s fast and That’s alotta travel for a track loader going over logs and stumps. This thing is the master of mud and unstable terrain it’s payin for itself there.
in 1976 I remember a guy had a Clark 668 set up like this. It worked well, but then everyone was still using the old crawlers. Not into anything new. Here it is again.
I think this is a awesome product would work great in wet or steep ground are they difficult to take on and off ? The only downside I can see would be when its dry and able to run fast because high speed eats undercarriage up quickly
The tracks knock off 30% of its top-end speed. The independent oscillation on each corner puts every bit of that power to the ground. Its smoother to operate as well.
Is this a kit someone is making ? I have the timberjack 480t with the tracks on it but always thought that putting tracks on my tigercat would be unreal.
The manufacturer has two types of systems, for smaller and larger skidders, see link in the video description from the owner for details, thanks for watching ;)
Should be law for these rigs. I bought some land that had been cut, a rubber tired forwarder was used , 30 years later still a mess in places with serious water level and drainage issues resulting directly from rutting vulnerable ground.
Robert Jones it is cheap and easy to put on tracks, getting a tire truck to fix flats is expensive and time consuming. Plus the chains are super expensive and get pulled apart in rocky and stump covered terrain, and when loose cause expensive axle damage. If these are durable enough to last, they have real practicality. Also depending on their weight to traction ratio
We run one of these and we have a kmc nice equipment but if your a new operator get some sea sickness pills for the kmc and you might want to stay on soft ground for both they will beat the hell out of you
All fine until it starts snowing then it would be worthless as tits on a boar! Steel bar tracks and ice snow don’t mix especially on hills unless you like sliding and up righting that skidder
The way them rails are popping they just looking to jump off! Skidder been parked a while with the rust on it like it is👊💯
Dude that's actually pretty cool I never seen one with tracks before. Seems like it works alot better than tires
Tracks are the way to go, as long as you have a good track system, and good maintenance.
Good maintenance is essential for any equipment, thanks man for watching!

Awesome, never seen anything like this!
That is badass! And I want one! Thanks for sharing! I don’t even log but I’m sure I need one 😃
Ha ha thanks man for for stopping by ;)
Me too lol
Warm greetings from Canada.
Never seen a setup like that before.
Great video!
Thanks!
That’s Awesome!!!💯👍🏻💯❤️
Man that's freaking awesome!!! One badass skidder!
Thanks Joe for watching!
Nicely put together Video.
I agree with this guy
Thanks friend!

Love them tracks , way better than tires 😁👍👍🇺🇸
Thanks Jimmy for watching! :)
Awesome piece of equipment.
Great video!! 👍👍
Thanks for watching!
I’ve never seen that set up before. Thst is bad ass
Thanks Anthony for stopping by ;)
Opasna masina👍👍👍👍 ovaj ne moze zaglaviti.....

Wow. Tracks awesome. I hope you get a long track life
Thanks for watching!

I wonder why you dont see many skidders like this? Seems they would go much better than tires
Wow! The reduction of ground pressure psi Vs Tires would be substantially more! Plus the gain in traction!
It absolutely is. The independent oscillation at each corner of the machine allows it to conform to all coditions

now this is the kinda skidder i want. how or where do i buy the tracks conversion? reply with the information please

It dose good job breaking down the slash
Wow amazing skidder
Thanks man for watching!
Awesome Machine
Yea, a real beast
jel se mogu staviti gusjenice na skidder koji ima samo vitlo?
Awesome video man! Looks like a beast
Thanks friend!
FORESTER Croatia your welcome!
The ride looks smoother than a tired machine ?
I like it a lot. Some of those floating-pair bottom rollers that the CAT have would make it ace :D
That would be a vicious CAT ;) Thanks for watching!
teamidris 2500 Track skidder swing bomp
Is that up around Alexandria?
No ground compaction great machine
Thanks Jon for watching!

Yes, Robert Reeves, see video description for details, thanks for watching!
it's not a new thing its been around but i think most of these's setups were shop made by the owns of big logging groups
matthew church yes you bet I have the skidder that timberjack made in the early nineties. Will go anywhere
I would love to find out who makes them.
See in the video description, thanks Allen for watching!
Thank you . I’m sorry I didn’t know to click on the title for description.

I’m technologically challenged.
Looks better than great, but how much? And how much to maintain annually for non-commercial use?
Could take a moose or two outa the woods w ease. ;)

Awsome! I wanna see it in the mud
Thanks Eric, soon i hope will be footage from the mud!
Man i bet that's expensive option LOL. So bad ass though. I'd like to run that. Wonder is ride better or worse thsn tires?
Major maintenance problem, wearing tracks and rollers and hydraulics .To much running for a little wood.
That's pretty cool
Thanks for watching! ;)
Everything about that is cool
Yea ;)
Timberjack 480T was set up like this 30 years ago .
you're right, in 72 I think, thanks for watching Winston ;)
That's a great idea !
Been around since the 80's. I would like to see it on a muddy hillside instead of flat pine barrens
Should be law for these rigs. I bought some land that had been cut, a rubber tired forwarder was used , 30 years later still a mess in places with serious water level and drainage issues resulting directly from rutting vulnerable ground.
Timberjack made one kinda like this it was a 480t
I think he made a few 1972, thanks for watching
Really how is the ride it looks ok but .
Thanks for watching!
Hello very nice
Thanks Laurent!
I have never seen this one 😉👍
Yeah,, me too but it originally was from America and Russia because of high logging demands
The old BUT good timberjack, now is predecessor
It's a nice machine for wet muddy areas but I would not want to run it on hard ground due to the back problems you would have
this machine can go anywhere on any terrains on any slope
😮😮😮😮😮MOONRAKER2💪👍💚👽
Dobar posao ;)
Fantastic...! saluts from Italy! But Song name?
Thanks, Eveningland-Rev
The engine is very quiet.
It would be the real deal on a mountain but dragging pine on flat ground I'd rather have rubber tires be faster...
You’d rather deal with a flat tire than a track off it’s rail
Robert Jones it is cheap and easy to put on tracks, getting a tire truck to fix flats is expensive and time consuming. We will see soon in difficult wet terrain, thanks for watching!
Envien uno a chile porfa
Looks like a ton of matainace to me
It d4 chain
That looks like alot of hair pulling and lots of swearing loudly after it gets run for 6 months or so !! Hope not

TOTALLY OUT OF THIS WORLD, OBVIOUSLY YOU GOT A DRONE, NICE SHOTS, ARE THE TRACKS RUBBER OR METAL
Visit page from the manufacturer, video material is from Robert Reeves- owner
Must be great in right spot and horable in wrong spot rocks must kill you . I like how they look farly simple streight forword for up keep
That will be broke very often!!!
i dont know they may through tracks quite often but i dont think thell break to frequntly
Why use skidder there is no hills? Its faster use harvester/forwarder pairs.
Fun till a stick gets caught and pops a track
