- People don't often form Romania in EU4, but today we do it as EU4 Moldavia! Wallachia can also be used for this formable nation... but with Dracula at the head. The impale the sultan mission is easily one of the most fun to pursue and is really unique! I would recommend this nation for an interesting playthrough - use this as an EU4 guide, and EU4 romania guide or even an EU4 tutorial!

In my most recent game actually, was able to completely mess up the ottomans after that XD
I tried to form Romania for meme reasons and accidently got that mission. Didn't even know about it.
I just did it last weekend with Wallachia: Vlad Tepes impaled the sultan in Kostantiniyye.
Should have done it as Wallachia because of Vlad the Impaler aka Dracula
No, besides most of us will be worried about the price of bread very soon.
This achievement was a lot harder when Wallachia and Moldavia started with 3 provinces

You can do this mission with Transylvania too. If you release them as vassals of Hungary, you will see they have the same mission tree as Moldavia & Wallachia, but their units have the Hungarian Sprites in blue instead of the Romanian ones. Which is a pretty cool combination.

@@schwenk1592 You can, but it is a hard challenge. Easier to try and play as Moldavia and Stephen the Great.

As somebody who lived in the region for 8 years I can say that in fact the Ulm minster doesn’t give you prestige
I was there last year and my handyphoto prestige got better
If you lived there you'd know that it's the Münster

im currently playing a semien/israel game with my friends. i tried copying your strategy of pretending that aggressive expansion doesnt exist and it works out really well. ive taken everything between alexandria and sansibar before the age of reformation and im just getting started. thanks for your advice :D
As long as you can afford simply killing everyone who would be in a coalition for long enough, you are usually good.
I could be wrong but there is a thing you can do to always have a truce with any and all countries
If you are strong enough you can guarantee a country and you and they get a truce with each other so they can’t join a coalition also they immediately leave
I've tried it and usually run out of manpower and mercenaries (duebto bankruptcy) after the first three forts.
Then my allies suddenly start to realize my country looks ripe for conquest.
Aggressive expansion is considered by lesser men
I had the same mindset in my tunis game, I took 4 italian provinces and the entire catholic world descended on me
this mision is great if you are playing poland or hungary just ally moldavia at the start of the game and then keep them around as vassal to poke the sultan in the backside since all you need is to transfer ocupation to moldavians for one day and enjoy.

Damn, I have a Hungary game going rn and I just finished conquering the Balkans in 1530. Youre a much better player than me, took care of the ottomans way quicker, granted I do have PUs over Bohemia, Poland, Austria, Naples and the Palatinate

You can do the impale mission with other countries if you ally Wallachia or Moldavia and give them the needed fort during war! Which is great!
Playing a Bohemia game where Austria got a coalition and styria popped out. Got hungry,polond,Lithuanian(all missions) and Burgundy. Just revoked the privilege in 1596. Most fun I have every had in Eu4. You really helped me get back into the game. Thanks for some of the best Eu4 vids on YT!
Dude is that fate of Osman The 2nd or something. His Real Life death is also one of the most brutal in Ottoman history. He killed by his own troops when he was 18.

You say that, but that northern carpathian mountain and carpathian Rus is seriously one of the ugliest and least accurate regions in the game (that isn't like central asia). Like the state of transylvania looks absolutely horrible. Uniting Romania with just the proper states of Romania makes it look all lumpy and deformed.
Though I do agree if you just ignore the Carpathians and blob over all of the Balkans going for like Roman borders -Dacia and maybe +Wallachia it is pretty hot.
That's a pretty solid beginning to a Roman Empire run.

Moldavia start is definitely better, u have a garanty from Poland a coastline that grants you conquest posibilities in the Black Sea and if you declare non CB on Wallachia instant expansion

Manpower Recovery Speed is sometimes underrated... It let's you recover from wars so quickly that you can be at war a lot more than just stacking Manpower Modifier alone!

how did you get military acces with the ottomans? they are always hostile edit: now they are no longer hostile :)

they only start off hostile if the ruler is military or balanced focus. rng can make them diplo or admin focused.
@@ominousflames14 I can't remember seeing Ottos start with anyone else than militarist ruler, tbh.
@@Hlodolog being a 6-4-6 leader the chances are pretty high he starts out militaristic or balanced. However there is a slim chance he starts out admin focused. I don't think I ever seen him diplo focused. Having high military stat usually means militarist. There are some exceptions to the 'rule'. Austrians are always diplo while being the emperor, and Mamluks are always admin.
That Romanian border was aesthetic as hell, not gonna lie.

Coptic gives you 10 percent more fort defense. So, because it has become a meme; you have to start as karaman, convert to coptic, go defensive, have moldavia as a vassal AND have the swiss lands.

Is the No cb Byzantium thing why I was able to crush the ottomans in my Venice game after I took Constantinople? I am not good at this game, so I think it must.
You need a lot more rng on your side as wallachia I think. to conquer moldavia you would need them to be either military or balanced focused AND hope they take the decision of fighting their pretender rebels, then bait them into attacking you, which means you gotta hope hungary or the ottomans dont guarantee you in that duration.

The Ulmer Münster is very nice and has a lot of cool coat of arms and in the middle a T Posing guy. (A famos dude from a fantasy book i dont know exactly i heard that he is very famos)

How do you guys actually do that? Everytime i play Moldavia, no Ottoman rival wants to ally me, Ottos don't give me military access (for attacking Byz) and Wallachia gets guaranteed every other game.

Luckily i just finished it the alternative way - expanded into Crimea to gain strength and played tall until Austria and Mamluks finally decided i'm worthy of their time.
