The Ruger is my choice and it would be my first revolver! Two friends of mine only have revolvers, One has a GP 100 It's a very nice pistol, the other has a SP 101 another good one, both in 357mag.
Thank you. Appreciate the review. Revolver I will stick with 44 magnum. In 10mm there are many great options that have the advantage of capacity and quick reload of magazines.
I have both. You can swap out the front sights for both easy. The Smith, is spring loaded and Hi Viz makes replacement sights just as they do for the Ruger. Note: the Match Champion 10mm is the ONLY Match Champion that has spring loaded front sight replacements like the regular 4.2 inch Ruger GP 100s. You need a punch etc for the Ruger just like a regular GP 100. Also, the trigger reach is smaller in the Ruger than the Smith. The Smith will shoot .40 S&W with factory moonclips out of the box. The Ruger needs pricey ones from TK Custom to shoot .40 S&W. [Reportedly the RIMZ plastic ones and the Ranch Products moonclips will also shoot .40 but I have not tried that.] Why this matters -- in a panic buying mode, .40 is about all that is left. It is also cheaper than 10mm for range time.
So if Ruger is able to fit 6 shots of 10mm in their "L frame" GP100 it should be also possible to fit 6 shots of 41 Mag into a GP100. This would be a abenifit over the 44 Mag that need a N frame or Redhawk.

Always choose Ruger revolvers!
10mm makes a surprisingly nice revolver round.
Smith should "integrate" a 547 extractor for their 610s.
I saw this post on instagram and had to come check this one out
The S&W locks up at the front of the ejector rod as well.
I like both. Though I’ll stick with my 686 4”. Would be nice if S&W produced a tuned up (pro series)version of the 610.

LUV both companies, but I'd go with the Ruger in this case....
I love the 1 cm cartridge. But putting it in a revolver defeats its purpose.
revolvers are great, especially in 40 SW/10mm
The cylinder is locked both front and rear on the Smith and Wesson revolvers. You can see the front locking pin when you had the cylinder open….

I'd Pick the match champion
