My first thought is that this is not a knight sacrifice at all. It's a pawn sacrifice, with some rather dubious compensation in the form of an attack in the center.
Not a sacrifice. Both players had a knight en prise. Moving to another square which was attacked by a pawn with a tempo on the black queen, allowing the capture of black’s knight after the pawn capture is a forcing line without material loss. So again, not a sacrifice
That was not a Knight sacrifice. He just moved the Knight from one square on which it was being attacked to another square in which it was still being attacked.
Sorry for the confusion! It is part of known theory, but very rare, and clearly caught Magnus off guard! (He quickly made a mistake) I’ll try to be more clear next time!
Y qb8.. first Rxa2 .. threatening A1 checkmate .. if kb1 then qa5 ..if qd3 .. to create an escaping route for king ..then qa5 ..and ba6 .. there are so many attacking moves for black but why played that passive move
Was this a crazy match or what? Leave your thoughts below!
Clickbait. Not a knight sacrifice. He was attacking the queen and could claim his material back.

Disagreed 💯 on your premise brother! I hope you stick around for future videos, but either way best of luck!
@@drmikechesswhy do you disagree? Do you know what the word „sacrifice“ means?

That's a sacrifice.
That was a sacrifice. He could have moved the knight to a square that was not attacked.
That's a sham sacrifice. Technically it is a sacrifice, but misleading as Yi gets his material back right away. So yes, a bit clickbaity 😀
Disagreed 💯 on your assessment brother!
After the knight sacrifice you asked a rhetorical question: "what was the idea?"
My idea was to just look at eval bar, and it was equal. Wow!
wow, you made the game even more excited than it is
Thank you! 💪
So when does the sac occur?!?
Move 11
Very exciting game!
Thank you! 🙏
Im confused. The thumbnail and general tone suggests the sacrifice was a novelty but your commrntary seems to suggest it was known theory

Even in the video he is didn't consider Rxa2
👍
they way it is explained is not according to standard terms, it hurts my ears
Sorry brother! I’ll keep improving! 👍
That Alpha Zero attack as you call it is the good old minority attack, lol.
o my goodness
hate click-bait
I respectfully disagree with your premise!
Video 100% delivers on promise from the title, so not clickbait at all brother! 💪
@@drmikechess Fine, bothern. Keep up the good work then and have a nice life.
