The receiver would have slipped either way trying to get back but when the defender put his hand on their shoulder as he was trying to go back it became pass interference. it's almost like a tie at the bag goes to the runner in baseball. More than likely he wouldn't have been able to get back to the ball but since the defender was on him as he turned he gets the call.

I’m here after a long rabbit trail after seeing a video of Lynn’s high school punt fake from the end zone -> that he then ran all the way for a touchdown, breaking several tackles to get there. ..Nasty blocks by the team too. Shoutout the athletes and coaching on his high school team.

I am extremely proud of how my hokies played on the field, but not off of it, we need to control our temper because we can trash talk off the field, but if we can't back it up than there is nobpoint, other than that, the play on uk last drive that looked like a fumble should've been reviewed, but congrats to uk for the win!

I was at the game also to support the wildcats, and my voice is out. I wanted to be as loud as i possibly could. I dont know if we were any louder, i couldnt tell, but if we were'nt then maybe a lot of our fans are older. Seems like I saw quite a bit of older folks there.
Kentucky fan here. I was at the game, and for about the whole fourth quarter, our side was dead silent. Save me, my sister, and two drunk guys in front of us.

Happy New Years everyone. First thing first I absolutely love women, my Momma is a woman, I married a woman but how anybody watched this great game with Beth Mowins on the lead commentary is beyond me, to every man who had to listen to her for 3 hours plus deserves the Congressional Medal of Honor. I’m not saying she’s not a wonderful and nice person which she probably is but no woman should take the lead role in describing a real Man’s game played on the grid iron or any role commentating on it. Food for thought, who would you like to have describing a bowl game or any football game for that matter, Al Michaels and Keith Jackson or two women? Yup that’s what I thought too! I tried to watch the highlights of this game which is 13 minutes long and literally after 2 minutes I could not watch it or hear it anymore. ESPN please do the world a favor in 2020 and put Beth Mowins back commentating women’s sports, and put men back in their rightful place.

I call it an ugly game for Kentucky because they are running the ball all the time, but it's a really beautiful win for them. VT knew Kentucky is gonna run the plays, but they just cannot stop that.

I turned the game off after Kentucky scored the game-winner thinking that was it since I wanted to watch the Sun Bowl, I had the ESPN game thread up but it took forever to update so I had no idea until a commentator told me Kentucky scored again. I care about quality and I want people who didn't watch the game to see the whole thing

We have too many problems in our collective society that a woman who earned her right to do football commentary is the last thing people should be complaining about. I don't give a damn how "annoying" her voice may be to some of you. She's got a job doing color commentary, and it doesn't matter how much you disapprove of it, she looks like she'll be there for awhile. I welcome more of them in the future. Why? Sounds like Marv Albert when he called NBA games. Last year she sounded even more so like him , almost like that was her schtick. She's gotten better but still sounds like an 80's broadcaster. Whoever hired her should be fired because they thought that was a good broadcast voice today.

The Univ. of Kentucky coaching staff should have suspended him from the game!!! I mean what message is the univ. of kentucky coaching staff sending out??? I guess upholding any morale character and accountability is out the window!!

Right, because there wasn't pushing and shoving going on beforehand, as well as 2 days of direct verbal jabs by the Va tech players (and by direct I mean 3 feet from his face). Looked like he even got bumped by one of them while he was running warmup around the field. But let's just discount everything else and take a bad instance with no other context and suspend him from the game because only that 2 second clip is what matters, not what else happened. If it was 2 days ago and they had time to investigate it and come to a conlcusion that he should be suspended, fine. 1 hour before game time to make a knee jerk decision without time to look into all of it is a problem for me. As to pushing an assistant coach off of him, that's between those 2. If he apologized to the coach after he calmed down and the coach accepted it and it wasn;t a recurring disciplinary problem then that's fine. I would think the coaching staff knows better the mindset and character of the team than people reacting to a 20 second video.
Also it's "moral". I am sure the teams morale is quite high at the moment :P.

@@chichi41 Apparently :P. Bowden hit a Dline player in the face in a pregame scuffle. Of course they had bumped him as he was warming up and had been coming up and talking trash to him and the team before the game. I believe (and I could be wrong) they were actually on the field during UK's time when this happened or at least on UK's side of the field. So not a great reaction but haven't seen all of what occured beforehand, other than the Va. tech players yelling obscenities at UK players during the Charlotte speedway trip (By yelling I mean calling them "lame a$$ Pu@@ies" and such from 15 feet away as players were unloading to tour the speedway).
Worst commentary ever, I don't mind a woman doing a game, but just wish she would talk like a girl, and stop trying to sound like a guy.
