I dont believe these hi- hp engines will last, especially when thrashed. My brother's 2 liter, 84 hp Citroen lasted 40 years in daily driving. Now he has the 2.2 liter engine from a DS-21, which will outlive us all.
1980s went to look at a old Ford bronco 5 liter engine. The seller open the hood wow Straight 5 liter engine that was like 6 feet long. Never in my life has saw an engine so long in a vehicle, it was crazy.
I had an ecoboost engine in my 2017 Ford Transit van. When it came time to change the spark plugs, my mechanic informed me that they were seized in the heads, which is caused by the ecoboost technology. I had to get rid of it after 174000 km (108,000 miles.) Other then brakes, that van was flawless. Too bad!
Bro the EA 888 is one of the worst engines. Known problems such as high oil consumption, timing chain failure and carbon deposits. These defects raise the question of whether the engine is really the "best
Just about every single production engine, including truck engines come fitted with oil squirters to cool the pistons. No much point to even mention this.
Naturally the first engine in this video is obviously the 22R/RE engine l have the 22R engine in my 1997 Toyota Hilux the last year of the 22R engine but the engine in the Toyota Prius another impressive Toyota engine now l never realised that Toyota has been using this engine for 27 years l am impressed l suppose if it's not broke why fix it
Other than the infamous carbon builtup (short trips, long oil intervals), needs attention every 90K km for preventive maintenance. Nothing to complain about. Good chip tune potential.
@@Landaultd , can you provide examples to know what to watch for? I hear in Germany longlife oil service is popular, so esp. for turbo engines this is quite a bad idea!
@@monfao2622 the EA888 had a major problem with oil pump, water pump, timing chain, cylinder head crack, carbonization, long life oil change interval it's what destroy the engine, if you want to use an 5W40 you need to change your oil pump for the right one, the original it's under dimensions and don't have the power to keep everything supplied with oil for a long time.....

I have a Ford Focus with a 2.0 litre inline 4 with almost 299k miles. It's a 2007 and I've owned it since 2016

Timing chain tensioner on the older models (replace at 90K for peace of mind), turbo rattle has a clip fix. Other major issues?
