    I'm 42 and I've been dreaming of 500'. Not there yet, but I made a breakthrough from being stuck at 430' for years and recently I've measured 465', 471', and 475'! Those are flat shots, not flexed "distance lines". Fusion Raider, Creator Series Cloudbreaker, and Lucid Ice Trespass are my furthest.

    This is fantastic progress! One of my personal mantras is “What I do right now pays off later - it doesn’t have to pay off right now.” And I feel like you are the best example of putting in the work UNTIL it pays off. Excited to see you on the pro tour more - this hard work WILL pay off!

    I spend my summers working in the Rocky's (around 6000ft). I throw farther when at "home"(500ft). I also find that things fly so so differently when lower in elevation. I would advise to be wary of this when going down to Waco. I have about a 400ft golf line if that helps you gauge. In the Rocky's I will usually throw a Roadrunner or Hades as my straight to understable option, but back here those discs are typically rollers depending on the plastic or run. Just be flexible and careful, as I have noticed that the difference in flight and distance has become more drastic as my skill level and power have increased.
    A good example of this is the Star Destroyer. In Mt. Country a 170g new will fly overstable without a lick of turn. Here in my home state they will have some turn before fading. Be careful with those Pharaohs especially. I haven't thrown one in a while, but I remember them being a hyzer flip to turn disc (down here at 500ft) when I had about 50ft less arm speed. If that still carry's those discs will be burn over discs for you at your army speed (again run and plastic pending).
    Maybe your experience will be different. This is just my experience over the past few years being a cross elevation disc golfer.

      I'm from a low elevation place too but learned disc golf at 6000'. My first time back home I was rolling wraiths and destroyers on flat throws with only like 250' of power. I couldn't throw forehands at all. It's a massive difference...the humidity makes a difference too, in most of the high elevation places it's a lot more dry.

    Can’t wait to meet you in Waco! I live here and traveled to Colorado in September. You are going to be SHOCKED how different your disc fly. With how you throw, I could easily see you adding 30-50 ft of distance. You will definitely get a lot more turn compared to elevation. I was shocked by the difference.

  • @Zoolander0157
    @Zoolander0157 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    Fun fact. Discs fly further in denser air. So at sea level vs CO altitude, assuming same power, the sea level disc will go further.

    • @noahdensmore6016
      @noahdensmore6016 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Wow I assumed the latter would make it go further but this makes sense lol thanks! 😂

  • @cnking27

    Good work, thanks for sharing it with us as always. Prepare to be shocked by the elevation change, especially if it's humid out. When I travelled down from 6000' to sea level for a round (Silver City, NM to Memphis), I had to completely unlearn and relearn my bag, and I only have about 300' of distance. It's good that you're planning to add some Conquerors. Give yourself plenty of time for some field work down there so you don't lose your discs at the course.

    My Max Distance is different as I use a Dragon 148--150 gram or a Very light around 143--145 gram F2 Valkyrie (cheaper water/open field bomber backups of Dragon) for said drive so it ends up anywhere on field since discs I have are flippy so I can do a power flip to flat easier for max distance. Hence why my disc will fly flippy due in part to weight and second in part to being an understable driver. In fact main golf max drivers are Star Archon, Have backups for thanks to Innova having mold forever discontinued for some reason and having Valkyrie/Dragon for similar flight. Main distance discs are around 170--172 for Valkyrie and around 166--169 for Star Archon as an Archon is needing a bit more seeing how an Archon is a little low on power.

    I started playing about 4 months ago. I’ve spent more time in the field throwing discs than actually playing. I broke 400 feet recently which has been a goal of mine. I hope to one day hit 500 just to say I did it.
    You definitely have 500 in the tank.

    I started playing about 3 years ago, was consistently throwing 490-515 when I was In texas. I’ve moved back to NC and have gotten back to playing shorter wooded courses and I’m bsck down to 435-465ft. I’m playing better than ever, but am frustrated with the loss of distance

  • @jamesh8519
    @jamesh8519 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Dude! 495 is so close to 500. That’s like a pace and a half. If the wind was helping you even 1 mph more then that distance would have easily been over 500.

    Oh, for a beefy OS disc a Champion Destroyer in low dome or using an as big as disc or bigger heavy around 10 pound item or in a hot car dash having something similar in size as mold has low glide for most people if lower dome. I have some Champion Destroyer with low dome but mine well 167 gram is not all that beefy in low glide and my 170/171 gram is lower glide. A Destoyer3 would be cool to see and would probably field a slot where an old Innova T-Rex would sit in game 12 | 11 | 4--5 | 0 | 3 which is basically an Emperor. My Dad switched to an X-Caliber in 2000's when T-Rex was discontinued soon after having mold hide as some Destroyer mold for a while until Infinite got mold as an Emperor as mold was so similar to a Beefy run Destroyer, using specifically X-Calibur for some beefy runs of touring pros discs when or if the pro asked for a beefy run of Destroyer like Ricky Wysocki used for his early signature runs and after used Champion plastic, Dave D has been since 2000's paranoid about players using non Innova discs even if brand is made by Innova like Millenium or Infinite.

    You gotta stop worrying bout throwing 500’ lmao. Like someone said a few vids ago, Drew has brainwashed you big time that you need 500’. If you can throw the constant 400-450’ you’re good.

    • @funkgremlin2765
      @funkgremlin2765 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +7

      50 feet of extra power can increase your C1 in regulation soooo much and that’s far and wide the most important stat in the sport with the highest correlation with your score. Throwing 400-450 is fine if you wanna play a pro tour for fun and be a good local pro but not if you’re trying to compete for pro tours. Even the guys on tour who “don’t throw that far” actually throw 500. 500 is the new 400. The sport is different now

    • @oddarntnes7079
      @oddarntnes7079 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +7

      I disagree. His goal is to play on the pro tour, and play well there. 400’ will not really do it at all on many of the coarses.
