I think a fun part about that series is breaking 86 isn’t really that difficult at this course and I’m sure Konner could have done it multiple times if he went out alone. The tough part was the pressure on every shot. Great series
@@BodanzaDiscGolf it’s hard for me to put into words. This video made it seem like the course is long af. The foundation vids seem like the background is closer or something. Could also be the leaves falling giving more open air or something making it seem bigger
makes sense! I shoot full frame and most of their stuff is aps-c so I can get a bit wider so less lens compression makes it look farther!@@adambroussard8192
I'm worried Anthony is falling into something that commonly happens to really good (regular) golfers. You know too much about the golf swing and try thinking about multiple queues/swing thoughts on the course. If you listen to pro golfers they all pretty much say the same thing. You should NOT thing about form on the course. That should only be done in practice/rangework. When you are playing a round, you should use ONE swing thought and only use it the entire day. If something is off, you just adjust but continue using that swing thought. A full head is dangerous to a golfer.
100% agree. Especially during that week it was tough, I toned it back for the tournament, but now that I don't have any tourneys coming up these next 3 months ish I'm letting myself suck a bit more at disc golf to figure out the right swing, then going back to one or no swing thoughts and just being in flow with my throw come mid january hopefully at the latest! This week in lynchburg was a weird liminal time since the backhand bootcamp felt like the start of the offseason, then it was like "oh wait you have another tournament" lol.
I agree but I feel you need to keep everything in mind until it becomes second nature. Once it gets to that point that’s when you become a good player but you have to struggle with overthinking every little thing until you just don’t have to think about it anymore.
I've seen this course on the Foundation channel a lot. It looks super tough (near impossible for an am like me) from this side of the screen. Fun to see you play it!
just gonna say it, your game is looking fantastic following the time you spent with Drew. You briefly mentioned rhythm and that was a really cool insight to share. I think if you are practicing your shot shaping at elevation, always consider the more overstable plastic when you come to sea level. C-line means sea level for you going forth buddy.
21:30 yeah I noticed on the front 9 you were...Overthrow-ing...and thats why you were yanking. It was like you were trying to throw 600'. But your throws on the back 9 look much smoother. Nice vid man!
Exactly that. I know you're probably getting sick of my comments on your videos about your form, however when you started slowing down your stride on your end step became a lot more compact and you were producing a lot more velocity because of it. This was making your discs flip. Even though you fixed your dad form from your front nine holes to the back, the faster flight speed was making your discs fly different. Once you work out your initial energetic yips you tend to have when trying to throw far, and ingrained that good form across all your throws, you will have much more consistent results and expectations of your disc flights. Immediately after you address your tempo and tone down your run-up speed you became a lot quicker and through your discs farther with less effort. I think a good video idea for you would be to challenge yourself to do 20 throws back to back without stepping more than 3 ft on your last step of your back hand. In my eyes every time I watch one of your videos, the only critique I can give you is that last step being inconsistent, which is the biggest contributor to you having inconsistent throws.
Two things you need at New London. Power and accuracy. If you have that, it really isn’t that difficult but if you only throw 260-275, you are going to struggle no matter how straight you throw it. If you aren’t accurate and can’t hit your lines, it will be a whole lot worse. If you have problems with both (me) expect bogey golf at very best and probably worse
Love your channel rooting for you, I want to see you on the tour! Just a thought.. I heard you say several times how your discs were surprisingly flippy in the video, I’m no expert but wondering if with your new form changes are you getting more torque/power than you were before causing a little more flippiness?
A disc of a higher speed won’t give you more distance until you can consistently throw 350+ but that doesn’t mean you can’t throw them. You can throw sharp anhyzers and have them flex out or have it have a lot of ground action. Just don’t expect them to go further than your fairways until you can throw over 350+
I'm personally someone who thinks they unlock different shapes not because of how far they go but how far they can move left to right! I would say always have ONE in the bag that you play around with and that disc will likely tell you when you can move up more when it starts flying like its supposed to!
when filming a course like this that has those different elevation changes...you probably have to set the camera up about two to 3 feet off the ground...that will really give people the perspective that they are looking for
I wonder if the unexpected flipping you're seeing on all those drives is a sign that your time with Drew has increased your throwing power and you haven't gotten used to the new flight paths of your discs with that additional power?
hmm, i feel I've gotten a lot better from when I played black hoof, so it's hard to fully say but I think Northwoods is harder, and a bit more fun personally. Both are phenomenal courses that I'd play over and over
Your score could have been a lot better because you missed a lot of the more gettable holes but my Lord I have no idea how you didn't get murdered by the OB. You need to play Harmon Hills, Sugaree, and North Cove if you get a chance. Mayflower Hills and Waid Park are also great in VA.
What would you shoot here?
Probably +20
Ideally +5
I wouldnt, too big for my britches and I live near it.
+20
at least try out the shorts!!!@@jamesoneill8955
The more I watch the more I am impressed with Konners break 86 to keep up that focus for 18 holes and hitting all the gaps

Thanks for letting me tag along for the last few holes!
absolutely! Was a blast!
Shout out for being "out here"!
Crazy how different filming styles make this course look. This vs foundation makes this look like an entirely different course to me
totally! what are the differences to you? I notice that every time I play somewhere that I've watched any coverage or youtube videos of

By far one of the most beautiful courses. Dang
Looks like a blast
Great video. Always love seeing this course
No hate on Bodanza, but watching him play New London is making me realize how good the Foundation cameras are.
Congrats on 30K man :D
thanks!
Great content man! Keep it up!
@ 4:30 you talk about executing your tee shot....
That is the key to every disc golf course....
I was soooo bummed when that disc went out OB on hole 6 and just about as stoked as you guys when it came back in 😂
this guy got every kick.... insane
honestly!
The kick back to the fairway on 6 was ridiculous.

When do you think we should move up in disk speed? When we can throw a consistent 320ft move up to 10-11+ speed discs?

Hard as a rock
First time ever there it was 35 degrees and i shot a +25. This Christmas im looking to get a +8
I personally enjoyed the mic dying so we could hear the despair of "dude get out of it...what are you doing?" and the echo.
I've never vibed so hard
Awesome!
You are throwing harder, and discs that were not flipping as much are flipping more. Still great content. Love watching your progress and journey.
could cut back on the constant commentary 🤏🏼
Bro needs a thunderbird / Madcat type disc. The CD1 isn’t fading like he needed in elevation
He has the honor
This course is quite the workout

Dude!!! You did yourself a huge disservice not adding Josh and Mikey to your coverage

Why do you like the shryke so much, noticing you throw that disc alot.
Video showed a stamp Strike at some point. I think that disc is Birdie disc's Strike and not Shryke. I am not 100% sure though.
Yes. It is that hard.
Why play with overthrow and not feature them?
wasn't planned, they just tagged along since they were free after I visited their office!
So the question is, did you break 68 during ur trip there? Great video, Anthony!
we shall see, two tournament round coverage videos coming soon!
Focus less on form and more on just throwing the disc. You will play much better without thinking about your form every throw
So to answer the question… is New London really that hard?
you seem like you’re in fight or flight the whole time you’re playing… your breathing 😮💨 is very erratic. breathing exercises might help you?
foot fault
You like the Ben Shapiro of disc golf talking so fast.
