I just started flying in MSFS less than a year ago but have become obsessed. I'm fascinated with flying now. Even started to think, maybe I'd like to be a real pilot someday. I really appreciate your channel and the knowledge you share. Thanks!
Hey Matt, I’m so glad to hear that! We have a few people in the channel who’ve decided to take up flight training. We have a chat for flight training in the Discord, please join if you’re a Discord guy. And thanks so much for the support, it means a lot!
Absolutely awesome! I've been practicing in this in the Islander and have (mostly) been nailing it, but now I've got a rock solid approach to get to perfection. Thanks for yet another great video. Yes I would love to see a video on the 28 approach.
Truly a fantastic video. Apart from the landing itself. It's the mind conditioning and preparation for the approach that enables a good landing. And you nailed all phases. Amazing stuff
That first landing, I had tweaked my control settings and that was my first landing. Didn’t have enough elevator travel with the extremity deadzone I had set. 😬
I picked a departure and arrival at random in the Himalayas. The departure runway turned out to resemble a ski jump! You drop down off the side of a mountain from a 45 degree slope. I’d never seen anything like it and it was a lot of fun with the Cirrus Vision jet.
Really enjoyed this video! Will have to get this scenery and try this out tomorrow, your right in saying the default st Bart’s approach has the hill terrain way too high, because your scenery there looks much easier with a lower hill. I have the islander as I got it waaay back when it first came out for MSFS but not flown it in a long time, will have to blow off the cobwebs and probably re-download it if it’s been updated since and have a go! Keep up the vids, quality, not quantity
You won’t regret buying the scenery, Peter, it’s fantastic. And the Islander is the perfect plane for the job. Let me know how it goes when you do it, and thank you for the kind words and support!
Hey I'm running RTX3060 with a 6GB VRAM but seems like framegen has more losses for me than benefits. The VRAM seems to get saturated too soon on DX12 and not to mention the windscreen glitch for takeoff. Can you please make guide for DX11 setups on laptops?
This is such a beautiful area, thanks for the technical breakdown of the airspace. Is the custom scenery for St. Barth worth it for just the occasional flying?
Hard for me to say, but for me it’s a no doubter. I absolutely love it, they did literally the entire island and the stock version is completely inaccurate. I love it.
Another similar challenge, especially with a crosswind, is TJCP, Culebra. I've been a passenger, IRL, flying in there.

@@IslandSimPilot That's awesome! Thank you, I'll check it out. And you're welcome, thank you so much for sharing your knowledge of flying!
@@matthawk04 Gladly!
I love real pilot analysis

Thanks so much, glad it’s helpful for you! And noted!
Thanks for this - I'm consistently landing the Kodiak and The Bn2 very well now, plus it's given me an overall improvement on other landings
That's fantastic, Peter! Yeah, once you can land here consistently it makes pretty much everywhere else a lot easier!
Excellent lesson on how to do successful landing at Saint Barts.
Thanks so much!

Great vid. Thank you for the tips and lessons. Would love to see approach to runway 28 also. Cheers.
Will do!
Lol, who flares, just touchdown! ... 😄
Nice video, will try this landing with my brandnew Tecnams (P2006T and the P2012 Traveller)

Great lesson... approach speed the key to happiness!
They are 3 keys to good, consistent landings: airspeed control, airspeed control, and airspeed control!
Such a great video. I did ok here in our recent group flight, but I learned some more important tips for this approach. Thanks again!
You’re so very welcome, Bob!

That's fun sometimes!
@@IslandSimPilot Check out VNLK Lukla.
Nice vid. Typically fly this area in either the simworks pc-12, or the black square analog c208. Really like the challenge and visuals of this area
It’s a gorgeous place to fly. I’ve never tried it in the C208, that’s such a cool plane, I’ve just never gotten into it in the sim. Not sure why.
Fabulous video. Thank you. Can't wait to have a go on the Sim
You're welcome, and thank you! Let me know how it goes!
This very insightful. Will def attempt this approach incorporating these nuggets of advice. Looking forward to one for Saba ( hint hint)
We can do Saba! Let me know how this goes for you.

@PeterMatthess a few people have asked, I’d be happy to do that!

first time hearing this, thx, good stuff
You’re so welcome, thanks for watching!
what scenery are you using for this airport. My stock scenery has trees obscuring the traffic circle
It’s Airworthy Designs, really good
great tips!
Much appreciated, Jim, that means a lot to me1
Thank you!
You’re quite welcome!
What plan are you flying?
Britten Norman Islander by BlackBox Simulations.
Thanks!
I put people to shame landing an a320 here in last group flight😂
You certainly did!!! 😀
May The 4th Be With You
And with you!
So this airport is a handcrafted one and they didn't even model the hill on short final properly? Lol
Yep!
@@IslandSimPilot How nice of them :) PS that --1000 fpm landing... I hope your spine is ok haha
@@davidtsw First one was "firm". :)
Thanks!
Thank YOU!
