    I have owned a 2016 with KDSS and now a 2021 Pro, and IMO hands-down the Fox suspension rides so much nicer on and off road.

    I added the Eibach lift springs to the rear and to the TRD Pro Fox OEM struts on my 2019. It added about 1.5" lift over all

    • @VikingsGarage
      @VikingsGarage  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That’s very good info right there.
      I’m currently installing Eibach Springs which should replace the OEM ones
      (the way the TRD PRO should have came)
      Claims 1/2 lift , stay tuned for actual final height 😉

    This video made me go measure my '21 TRD-PRO (stock). I have 21" on the front and 22 & 1/4 at the rear.

    Greetings From New Hampshire ! Your thoughts on those are exactly like what i thought after installing Bilstein 5100 series shocks, reusing the original coils. Your coils look so much nicer , shocks to me anything not stock and blacked out is nice. Performance, i love the firm ride and less seasick/floatiness just feeling planted and composed !! Nice vid man ! Good quality and to the point.

    Ordering stuff late at night can get expensive, couple weeks ago I ordered a GOBI Ranger roof rack for my 2021 4Runner. I'm looking forward to upgrading the suspension but wont be doing that until I have all the other parts installed like bumpers, skid plates, auxiliary fuel tank and stuff for overlanding. I'm looking at going with the King suspension kit. Love your red 4Runner, mine is red also. Takk for videoen, Skål!

    I remember when I traded my 2014 SR5 4Runner for my 2016 Trail Premium that I still own, that the ride was just a little stiffer, but the handling was far better.... even with the BF Goodrich KO2s added.

  • @calebbradford1124
    @calebbradford1124 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    I literally just did the same exact thing to my 2014 trail 4runner a few weeks back. Got a freaking steal on my set. I noticed the same exact thing, stiffer on the bumps and small stuff. But if you have an opportunity to hit some good dips, rough dirt road or trail, that’s where it’s pretty amazing, especially if you can hit stuff over 40. It gives a little to much confidence hitting things that would bottom you out easily before with the standard shocks.
    Great video, glad I’m not the only one who likes the pro shocks

      Hi, I am considering the same for my 22 TRD off-road, the stock struts/shocks seem boaty but comfy over small bumps so don't want a drastically firm ride as it's my daily road vehicle. What is your impression after 1 yr, still stiff on the road? and do you like it? recommend it? Also, you bought the suspension kit new, and how much? Thanks for any advice.

    • @VikingsGarage

    I have to imagine that the notorious nose dive is gone. I changed my TRD ORP front and rears out to Bluestein's - much improved on body roll and the nose diving.

    Any tips on the front caliper pins in the rust belt? Mine are always seized and NEVER just slide out. I’ve had to carefully Dremel them and work them out with a punch often taking hours. Any tips

    • @VikingsGarage
      @VikingsGarage  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Unfortunately, that’s a constant battle for us. So I always install new pins when possible and apply anti seize in the pin holes. The removal portion is always a struggle, heat is your best friend. I use a small portable torch to work them out, along with a pair of good locking pliers and twist motion.
      I hope this info is helpful.

    I have a 2020 TRD Pro. I had the original FOX front struts replaced with the TSB recommended front struts (due to the contact of the bottom two springs). I'm sure I won't have the clunking noise now at temps 40 degrees and below. But, the replacement front struts have a dull squeaking noise periodically that the original springs didn't have. Oh well...I wonder if the 2021/2022 TRD Pro owners have noticed this (because I "think" the TSB recommended front struts for the 2019/2020 are the same front struts as the ones that are original on the 2021/2022 TRD Pros).
    Also I put on 275 KO2s (this was before the front struts were replaced) and there is absolutely no rubbing issues at all (with no modifications done). My MPG did decrease about 1.3 MPG with going from the 265 Nitto Grapplers to the 275 KO2s.

    • @VikingsGarage
      @VikingsGarage  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Unfortunately to make our trucks more to our liking with off-roading in mind, MPG do suffer.
      Yeah they had some issues with Fox racing struts initially. I made a short video on that :
      th-cam.com/video/hw8VgahEGXE/w-d-xo.html
      But the part numbers I installed which I put in the description box are the latest and greatest with all the bugs fixed.

    • @morpheus1818
      @morpheus1818 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@VikingsGarage Do you think that the front struts used to replace the defective ones on the 2019/2020s are the same front struts as the ones on the 2021/2022 year models? (I believe the part numbers are different.)
