  • After a year and a half enjoying our teardrop camper, we decided it’s time to make some upgrades. In this episode we show 5 easy upgrades we made to our trailer. We also experiment with 3D printing some really cool add-ons and replacement parts for the Camp EZ teardrop. Whether you’re in a teardrop camper, camper van, RV, or travel trailer, 3D printing can be a useful tool for making your own parts and accessories. We may even do a future how to video on 3D printing.

Make sure your filament material is alright for the temperature. My buddy printed out a sun visor for his fish finder on his boat and when winter came, the temperature made it crack. Always research or test what it can handle to save some headaches down the line. I haven’t had my printer working in a while, my extruder clogs before it prints. Should have got an ender 3 instead of the cheapest thing on amazon. Oh well. Happy camping!

Whether you make it or buy it, getting a mesh base under the mattress will allow moisture to escape and avoid developing mold and mildew. Mattresses on plywood will ultimately develop problems.

@@CampandCamera I've got one of the Froli sleep systems under the bed in my camper. they have made a 4 inch foam mattress extra comfy. with the mattress in the box that you have installed it probably wouldn't be necessary as they are designed to go on a flat base bed. what you don't see with the mattress in a box which we have at home is that they have the springs built in that provide some airflow at the base of the bed. please keep the awesome content coming.

Nice upgrades. One of the very first teardrop campers I ever saw was able to turn the entire wall with the mounted TV inside to the back part on the outside where the kitchen is so you can watch TV outside as well. I have never seen another one like that and i cannot find the video. Have you ever seen anything like that and do you know what I am talking about? I was super impressed and want to make one like that. Then I saw how people are just making a cutout in the side of the teardrop and storing a TV inside there that comes out on a swivel but the only problem is that you don't get that big of a TV screen doing it that way.

If I ever build a teardrop, I'm going to find a good mattress 1st. Then build trailer big enough to fit the mattress. I had the toughest time finding something that fit & was comfortable. I ended up getting a spring mattress from "Love my mattress", custom fit to size. It came in a package just like a burrito in a plastic wrapper. It very nice, but not budget friendly. Hence, buy mattress 1st, then design trailer.

I have got my lad to design me some extension "pods" to mount the exterior lighting (we are in the UK and still have to jump through euro hoops on lighting positions despite having left).
