Thanks for the video. Works for NetBeans 8.2 also btw. I initially downloaded Microsoft Visual Code and it is not easy to use or understand since I'm starting out. Me being more familiar with NetBeans makes me feel less stressed about whether or not the compiler is working. Thanks Again!
I was just getting into the swing of learning C++ when my VS trial period ran out. I didn't realize it was a trial period, oops. I'm too broke for the VS license and have been looking for a decent, affordable IDE so I can get back to learning. I've looked at NetBeans, but heard it's a bit slow and heavy. Qt Creator looks pretty sexy, but like it might also have some baggage with it. What are your thoughts on the relative merits of the two? Is there a better option? Since I'm just trying to learn to code I don't really need all the project management bells & whistles or an IDE that has a learning curve of its own. But something that helps with debugging would be nice since I'm bound to screw up a lot at this stage.
Honestly, I started with Netbeans and I've stuck with it, for C++ and Java both. So I don't really have a basis for comparison. But doesn't VS offer a Community version for free?
@@codeBueno you're right, there is a free VS option. It never occurred to me to look for that. Thanks for the tip. I'm guessing since it's free it will be missing a lot of the advanced features that I don't need anyhow. Maybe that will make it easier on both me and my antique rig.
I cannot install the plugin. It says The Plugin Installer found problem timeout of loading C/C++ Remote Development API[org.netbeans.modules.cnd.api.remote/1.29.5.1] while install the following plugins:
